I would go with the hornet...much less likely to be flipped over by enemies. Wasp does have a little more speed, but on the rail stability is also nice. Both will rock just fine. Nothing's as bad as swiping the flag and getting flipped on the way back to base by a smoky, thunder, rail, etc.

Thanks A LOT!

It has just occurred to me that the Shell Destabilization alteration actually increases the Railgun's average damage...

And by a considerable amount too...

I got the alt...I've used LCR for year+. The destabilization alt is fun since it doesn't effect firing rate at all (unlike LCR). I have one shotted a titan (obviously not an m4) and multiple medium hulls. I have also died numerous times after hitting a light hull twice and they are still alive

If you like being able to know how many shots it will take you to finish off an enemy, then this alt is NOT for you. But if you enjoy the joy of seeing 3,000+ damage from time to time, then get it.

I also enjoy the added impact, but wish it was a little more increase.

So today, I was in a MM battle and on the enemy team, there were two M3 (Possibly M4 but it didn't matter) Mammoth Vulcans with the Incendiary Band alteration. What happened was that an enemy Railgun shot me immediately after one of the Vulcans started shooting me. The bullets apparently were hiding in the afterglow of the shot and then I saw myself getting heated.

Seeing that non-fire-based turrets like Hammer, Smoky and Vulcan (to an extent) have alterations that give them fire-based attributes to their projectiles, how about Railgun getting one?

Direct damage ranges would be decreased by probably 20%. Impact force would be reduced by 10%. The shot-reload time would be increased by 20%.

If it is decided to keep the penetration, then the first target it penetrates would receive 3 ticks of afterburn damage. The remaining tankers who got hit would receive 1 tick of afterburn damage.

If it is decided that the penetration aspect of the turret would be removed, then the target would receive 5 ticks of fire damage and the reload time would only be increased by 15%

Hopefully, this would force the Tanki devs to increase the shot-reload time for the "Death Herald" Compulsator because that is a sad excuse for a con in an alteration. A 10% increase in the shot-reload time isn't even that noticeable. I bet they just wanted to give Railgun the instant reload and not the increase in the shot-reload time but they couldn't because everyone would make a big deal out of it.

I bought the shell destabilization alteration for railgun and would recommend it

I came on top of leaderboard in MM matches and tried it in a pro battle too and got first position

(the rest of my team mates had .5 or lower DL and I had 1.40 this was a no drug battle)

This alteration is better than large caliber, it's average damage its usually  higher than large caliber - and I can even 1 shot light hulls (m4) without DD and 1 shot heavy hulls with DD sometimes and sometimes you will get like 200 damage in battle so that would be the one downside but I don't mind that much

Also the +20% impact is also good, you can use to make light hulls change direction or make others miss their shot

Is that the 55k "round destabilization" alt? I might try it. I need something to make the game more interesting.

4 different players had more than 45% protection against you. That must have been tough.

I'm used to it. :P

Rail gun is great!  I believe that it works on some maps better than others.  There should be a map discussion that is also apart of the forum questionnaire that asks users which maps to use which turrets.  What do you guys think?

Railgun is my favourite gun; I get easy 2nds and 3rds with my near-maxed M0. My Shaft at the same level only bags me a high of 4th, and my other  favourite, Twins, gets me 4ths and 5ths.

Me too. Only I have full-maxed M0 Rail&Hornet. If you want to know how much I use rail , visit ratings.tankionline.com/en/user/Astute_T.O

A lot of problems with this turret without alts. All alts need slight nerfs and base Railgun deserves more damage. There are so many people who use high percentage protection modules, and those with no alts with railgun, make the turret obsolete. I think its Low and High Damage output should be slightly closer together like maybe 50 or 100. Or, maybe increase the damage by 100 or 200.

Yep, I love it :)

First of all, this is the English forum. Speaking English all throughout your posts  is a good idea...

If the reload time was shorter, it would be OP, and it means you need skill to kill enemies, and not die.

Sorry, but what language is "de" "the"? It's bad grammar, no need to comment on it.

It's common in the Caribbean to say "the" like "d" or "de". We just can't help it because if we try hard to speak Standard English, it may sound weird and it wouldn't roll off the tongue properly.

Maybe the guy is from the Caribbean.

I'm pretty sure that would be vocabulary and not grammar.

Also, why are you replying to a post made in the middle of 2013?
