I'd agree with a stock rail buff...when was the last time you saw a rail player in top score. I see Gauss, Hammer, Magnum, Rico on top score all the time, but railgunner never seem to be causing that much damage

It could be partially due to most people equipping Railgun module protection. I always use it no matter the map or mode and I see a lot of other players do the same.

But why? Is it because of Stock Railgun? Or its alterations. There were many Railgun protection modules before the latest batch of alterations were introduced. It could be because of how potent it used to be and now its weaker modern self is suffering because of that. But you barely see Stock these days. You see its damage-increasing alterations everywhere. And it's what that damage increase can cause that prompts players to be cautious and use protection. Couple that with the fact that it's the most used turret in the game, then you have yourself Railgun's current situation.

I guess I dont understand always having rail prot....its one of my highest used prots but thats partly bc I guess lots of ppl used to play rail. Now Im always using magnum or gauss bc those kill me the most....rarely see rail dominating sadly. Especially dont see BP players doing well ever

It's not because they are "dominating".  It's because they can one-shot you.  Absolutely hate that.

And because there is > even chance you are facing at least one in battle - even though there are 13 turrets.

Default protection is Shaft/Rail/Gauss.  If Magnum more prevellant than one of those 3 I will switch it up.

This is an unfortunate reality. I use Gauss and magnum prot bc they are the turrets that kill me the most, but its frustrating that the tanki meta has said "no you cant play this turret...we will protect against it even if no one is playing it".

Well then you are wasting a slot and your enemies benefit.  Not as much as the noobs on my team that DONT EQUIP ANY modules... but benefit none-the-less

 

One issue is the garage - not efficient to try and visit there during a 7-minute battle.  really annoyed you can't slide in there upon a death.  You need to take another death to visit garage and that is just dumb.

In html that is more likely...you push mash pause and then G instant before the camera starts moving...its noob yes.

 

In flash you can visit the garage any time before you spawn...one reason I will not use html until I have to

So, I took another plunge. Opened my saved up Weekly Containers and bought  "Death Herald" Compulsator for my Mk5 Railgun at Brigadier. Before, I alternated between RD, LCR and Scout to see how each performed against each other. So now, I was taking a plunge back to Stock Railgun's damage range. 

 

Remember this statement?

Amplify this by 3. It is frustrating to use Stock Railgun's damage range. I often find myself in situations where I can only get off one shot before I die in the next few seconds, and that shot doesn't deal much damage. LCR would be great there for potentially finishing off the player and RD's impact force increase has a chance to save me time for another shot if its damage was low on the initial shot. At least with "DH"C you have the upside of higher overall damage output and most likely more kills. 

 

But Stock's damage? It's just disheartening. Now, comparing the effectiveness of Stock vs "DH"C is the hardest because it's the hardest to say how a battle would be if you used Stock instead of "DH"C or vice versa. The kill chains you get with "DH"C can result in soft resets of the enemy team. Their spawn locations can vary each time and that can disrupt an important push the other team could be initiating and then they can go on the counter attack. Killing a certain player via kill chaining can put them in a position to allow their team to spawnkill the enemies. All of these are possible but that isn't to say it will happen. To compare how battles would flow with Stock vs "DH"C requires too many factors to be taken into consideration, in the game and from the irl players (mindset towards the Railgun, how they approach after the encounters etc.)

 

Hornet's Overdrive is where I'm able to let loose. My highest killchain so far has been 4. It is undeniable that I do better than Stock, but how the battle will flow (whether my team will ultimately win or lose) varies. Not once was I able to one-shot a medium hull from full HP though. Heck, I got 1436 damage against an unprotected Wasp when I had my Overdrive active expecting to get the kill. The Wasp then turned around and killed me. Unlucky me. 

 

My thoughts? Better than Stock, though the damage is still bad because it's still Stock in terms of damage per shot. It's just like my Stock Hammer vs Adaptive Reload battles. I don't do well with Hammer in general, but I always do better with Adaptive Reload and it makes life with it much less frustrating.

Buff rail, nerf alts.  The issue is with the alts being too strong.

Try Stock Railgun instead and see how well you do without any powerups.

I don't know if anybody has this problem, but my railgun quite occasionally does 0 damage. It's not like when you cannot do damage at all unless you refresh your browser (that sometimes happens too), but you hit the opponent and get the number 0. I've just finished Rio map, where this happened 5 times, 3 times I shot FXXING WASP in a close distance. Still 0. I mean I have fully upgraded m4 railgun, use double damage + round destabilization alteration and still. Sure, they might have 50 percent module, but that doesn't make sense. I have noticed this like 3 months ago or so, were there any major changes in this department? Is this some kind of drone that helps them defend? Is this a bug?

Recent update.  Respawn immunity, prevents spawncamping.

Hey guys, I just wanted to ask, is round destablization worth it as an alt? I'm a second lieutenant and I'm considering buying it on the Fools Day sales. Thanks for the replys ?

Mu Your Railgun And Get High Caliber At Captain. Youll Thank Me Later Because That Combo With Hornet Od Will Obliterate Anything In Your Path.

That's funny because the Alt is not available at Captain any more lol - it's gone 2 ranks up now while costing the same before the new Alts came

Must buy. It increases avg damage at the cost of extreme damage variation. Upgrade it enough and you can one shot medium hulls consistently with dd( really good if you have dd and hornet od active together). And it will be quite cheap the sale.

Yes, that's what I was thinking, I'm planning to MU railgun to Mk5 and I thought that this would maybe make it OP.
