I don't have Firebird protection and considering in buying it but I doubt that it's going to be effective.

This thing is so powerful that I think the module won't do anything, similar to as it once was with Twins.

 

I don't have it so I don't know... is it worth it?

I have it at 47% at moment.   It helps.... .... .... sometimes. 

 

Like if I also have DA, then maybe I won't die.  It really is ridiculous.

Mine is at 45% and it makes a difference for me. If you have the crystals for it, it will be a help for sure. I don't know what you other protections are however. So you will be deciding to drop one. Consider that before you buy. I tend to enter most any battle with firebird, rail, and rico right now. Then switch around depending on what the  other team is set up with.

The Devs ruin Vulcan with the ridiculous spin-up time but allow Fire to remain so OP it is pathetic.  All it has to do is touch you for 2 seconds and even a medium hull is done.

I think it is... on my m3 account I have it at 35%. It’s not exactly a miracle (protection modules are less effective against high DPS, I guess...) but when you compare it to not having it, it makes you grateful. Plus it protects you from smoky and vulcan’s alt so it’s like you have protection from 3 guns.

Yes . It's damn good and is my secondary turret . My main and favourite turret is railgun, though.

no, just the range. Compact Fuel Tanks is better as it reduces damage but drastically increases afterburn damage.

A fully micro-upgraded m3 gives 50% protection. So, it is worth spending money on, especially if your opponents use the CFT alteration (increased burn damage)

It is op, but I prefer railgun. Firebird is my secondary, railgun is main. The Exp I've got with both should explain if you see my profile page.

DP hammer , rico,smoky (at short-medium) any ranged (long)

I have experience with firebird on my old WO.1 acc. Not that great unless you sneak up. Even then, counter is possible.

There's a cool-down for RKs.  Once you use it, and the firebird flames you again - done like dinner.

I really don't believe it's as OP as everyone is making it out to be, I use it quite often and don't have any major advantage over anyone in normal battles..which means it's pretty balanced.

 

 

Want something to complain about being OP, how about Hammer's Duplet, Vulcan's burning alteration, Isida's 1000 DPS coupled with double damage, Magnum's mine alteration used in every silence/noise battle I enter, Twin's impact force, Shaft's damage in general, Striker's 8 rocket alteration that can take out a freaking juggernaut with one salvo.

Try facing somebody with firebird without using firebird and see how well you fare.

 

In the high ranks it's not as bad, but in lower ranks it's like a one man wrecking crew.

The constant burn damage should get a nerf.

 

 I think the 300 damage in burning is to compensate for its significantly weaker DPS than freeze and isida, so it can't be nerfed too much.

 

The burning time however should be nerfed, because I understand how annoying it is to be sprayed with fire for like 1 second then watch your whole HP just vanish. I don't use that tactic frequently, only at situations where it is needed, fire is more of an all-out assault weapon anyway.
