I even lose close range brawls with smokys or similar because the impact force just blows me 90 degrees away from my direction every time even with hunter so they just "dodge" it... Then when I shoot vikings on other accounts they're completely stiff and don't move a single degree away. What's up with that.

You don’t even have firebird in your acc 0__0

If you checked the screenshot you'd see it's another account.

But anyway, should I go and buy m2 hornet or viking to go with firebird? As they seem to be the ones doing best with it.

...Or I could buy uranium, since it has striker m2 anyway, and try it out.

It truly sounds like you are dying from heatstroke in Antarctica. Hunter is far more stable than Viking as the weight stat is balanced such that stock M2 hunter has the same weight as stock M3 Viking, anyways firebird has no impact force. If possible, try to approach other players from the sides or from behind in a sort of "surprise attack."

So you're saying I should camp and wait for them to come, at which point I may as well use railgun or similar.

Seems the only saving grace for firebird is incendiary mix, because everything else is quite the garbage, as the afterburn effect is too unreliable to be of any use, and the fuel tank finishes too quickly.

Get in their base, then do the killing. Not the other way around.

To be honest I haven't used compact tanks recently. I'll take your word for it.

In my experience, every time I try an 1v1 I get killed first, since the account has bad modules (It's from the paint era), and because the base dps is pretty low, and then they heal, and the entire afterburn is wasted... May as well get the damage boost and ignore the burn effect. The only easy kills I've scored were during hornet overdrive and double damage, but that's to be expected.

I'm quite sure I've consumed more enemy repair kits than that entire account is worth. But that does not benefit me.

Yes, Compact Tanks is not designed for a 1v1 if you can't hide behind something such as a building immediately after letting loose. That could be why you are having trouble. I can only suggest trying some 1v2s and consuming double the repair kits (on a large enough scale, blowing repair kits does help your team), though this will not work if you are seen too soon.

Listen to this guy. I've seen him playing very well with wasp and short range turrets like in Xstriker's screenshot.

If you play fire/wasp, you must drug a lot. You are playing a weak hull so if you go toe-to-toe with vikings and titans, you will die a lot. Rather use your speed to pick which battles you will engage in. Do not let them engage you. You find an opponent to hit, and hit them full speed. Burn and run. If they dont die, no worries, you escaped and can get the next one

After "garbage day #3452" with firebird I decided I'll discontinue the @Chaos1997 account because over the course of 2 matches, I've had one match with 2-19 DL, one where I did 80% of the team's work and got last place, with under 0.5 DL because of killsteals (and flag steals too, because shafts).

Using it with hunter... Zap an enemy, activate DD, shoot. Poof killstolen. Every, god damned time. Can't get a single kill even if I'm the hunter zapping people.

It's a shame, because it's my very first account I ever created, but firebird is unusable. It loses 1vs1 with everything at m3 vs m1-2s.

I've never been so demoralized playing a game as when I use this account with firebird m3.

Don't buy it, it's a waste of time.

I don't know what's happening with you. I'm seeing Firebirds (Compact tanks Firebirds to be exact) just pooping on enemies every game. They use medium hulls so maybe that's your problem, but then I see Wasp + Firebirds dealing a lot of damage before they die so I don't know what's happening with you. You're probably just getting unlucky in your battles.

Besides all those Fox modules out there, hopefully you get a good battle.

weird garage but nice eagle m2

maybe you should get Shaft m2 on it

It's a gift from the dirty paint.

However it doesn't even save me from oneshots unless I wear DA so I don't even use it...

Even if I use hunter m2 all that happens is the few 1vs1s I can win they get killstolen, and when I drug and rush to get a flag, successfully, I get killed at 1/10 of a tank length from the flag and someone caps in my place. Result I get 1/3 of the score I deserve in the match. It's frustrating and annoying.

It's the only account out of the ones I regularly play on where I'm consistently in the bottom of the scoreboards. In 2 of the others I can even top the boards even without touching a drug.

I don't think I could understand your issue without some video of it or something. Firebird M3 not crushing M2s is hard to believe frankly. When you speak of your scoreboard issues, I can only imagine an inconsistency between your personal goal (Get first place and stars?) With your alteration and attack style (Burn enemy heavily but leave them weakened for teammates to finish off?)

What alt are you using?

Compact tanks is still very potent - I see lots at Legend ranks.  And the newer alt supposedly has +50% damage.

How does an m3 fire lose to m1s? Im assuming either you are both drugging or neither. If your opponent is drugging but you are not, then if course you will lose, but thats your choice. Fire is crazy strong...thats why ppl tend to use protection vs it

They did something to Firebird, didn't they? It don't feel right. I don't like it.

Firebird underwent a rework in August, 2018, as well as the afterburn mechanic itself. Firebird's direct damage was lowered but its afterburn damage is locked at 300 damage per second and the burning time for all modifications were decreased. At first, it was DEADLY if you didn't have protection and still deadly even when you had it. They have since made changes to it to make it into what it is today.

Since Vulcan's afterburn is tied with Firebird's afterburn, it too damages itself for 300 damage per second when overheating.

Which is just dumb.  A turret damages itself as much as an enemy does.  Why not make Thunder splash itself for 100%? <_<

Explains why I suddenly go from dealing 14-15 damage to dealing 300. At point blank it seems downright deadly, but it doesn't seem to have that edge when it comes to crowd control it used to have.

http://prntscr.com/ol831s and in this one I chose not to use any supply, just because.

Ironically I bought viking not too long ago to fit firebird... Viking does work with high pressure pump better, but for compact tanks hunter is a monster.

"The only reason to be sober is because you ran out."

I used High-Pressure Pump with Hunter and did fine. I thought the height of it might have made my stream shoot over the target's head and not damage them but I was wrong. This was back with the old Overdrives I think.

http://prntscr.com/ol7uzc this has to be my literal best match with firebird in months.

One of the enemies was a rapid fire shaft titan, and I have to thank immensely the dirty paint for giving me eagle m2, as I would've had 1/3 of my score without it.

See? Told you that you'd have a great battle someday. Just needed the enemy to be unprotected.

Can't say the same about Dictator + H-PP Firebird though.
