The problem with ricochet is the range is trash. Minus field stabilisation solves that but I can't stand the slow reload. For this reason I stopped using the turret. The problem is there is nothing else like it.

Ricochet does pretty good in most of matchmaking's maps regardless of the range, but I'd personally avoid serpuhov, highways, brest, and to some extent parma.

Avoid any maps that don't have right-angled walls - negates one of Riccos biggest advantages.

Massacre is obvious.  Wolfenstein does not have a lot of great bounce areas - many of the walls are angled.

Kunger is meh for Ricco - has some buildings, but is quite large.  Same with Alexandrovich.

Ricochet doesn't need a buff. It is pretty strong if you maintain range with a target.

Rico has bigger range than Fire, Freeze and Isida.

Rico has the same range as Twins and Hammer.

Rico has smaller range than Smoky, Thunder, Vulcan, Striker, Magnum, Rail and Shaft.

Good luck with maintaining your range, it works only against 3 turrets.

It isn't a short-ranged turret for nothing.

Gorgo was responding to someone talking about "keeping your distance".  It's a fine line as it can easily lose to turrets like fire.  but can't outrange twins or hammer (unless you use MFS)

Omg. Such short-sightedness. Range is not even a problem since most MM maps are small or medium and it's easy to get with 50m of an enemy and maintain that distance. And its _ to not expect return fire. Lol

This may be true. But look at other close range weapons like Hammer or Twins. Twins, by math is has less disadvantages than rico and seems to perform way better, considering it has the same range as rico. And hammer... the most overpowered thing I have seen at close - short range.

Sorry. I agree that twins and hammer are more OP. There is no need to worry. Use some other turret for now until you get M3 ricochet. Once you start upgrading that, you will see it's really strong. You can ask any other high ranker just how powerful it is.

I have found that the Ricochet only works "good" in DM & Jug battles.  Any other mode I use it's brother, Twins.  It works decent for the rest of the MM battles.

Wow, guys, in Juggernaut I get put up against some low ranked noob jugs once in a while 1v 1 and with all the drugs equipped on my rico/hunter m2 and my finger ready to hit 1 for a healer and shift as a back up, I'm more powerful than the jug.  That's fun stuff!

Why don't you use Twins in DM too?  Seems to be more drugging in DM and Twins is bets turret for DD...

Ricco-Titan is my go-to combo for DM but - that's because I don't have Twins.

MFS 100% of the time.   Find the turret odd when I join a no-alterations battle by mistake.

The extra range (slight that it is) helps and the faster balls are harder to dodge = higher % of hits.

Slight? It's an entire 100% increase.

I find ricochet to often be of more use than my twins in DM battles, even though twins never runs out of ammo and has significantly more damage.

Probably the main reason is that so many legends now have twins protections, to the point where I no longer bother to stay in a match that has too many panther modules, I'd just exit instantly. Ricochet on the other hand doesn't seem to suffer as much from a lion module saturation, thus I can use it a lot of times to its full potential.

I'm finding Ricochet to be the most troublesome lately.

It seems to be a pattern, in December Hammer Duplets were everywhere, then Striker and since some of them got either a nerf or a less-than-great update more and more are using Ricochet now.

Trying to MU my modules to compensate is a bit of a nightmare.

Did a DM last night in Bobriusk to complete a mission.  At least half the players had Ricco protection.  UGH.

PLASMA GUN ALTERATION

Hey the plasma gun is great but i think some features are really stupid and i would like to discuss it.

According to wiki -

Reload: -50% Plus.png

Minimum damage: -25% Minus.png
Maximum damage: -25% Minus.png
Projectile speed: -75% Minus.png
Maximum number of ricochets: =1 Minus.png

According to me -

Reload: -50% Plus.png

Time taken for charge to go up: (i dont know how much % will it be better but now it recharges really slow. It should go up faster than the original version +% Plus.png

Maximum number of ricochets: 0Minus.png

Minimum and maximum damage: -15% (maybe but please dmg reduction is too high. Damage should be ruduced but not this much Minus.png

Minimum range: -% Minus.png (devs decide i really donno about that game mechanics)

Projectile speed: -75% Minus.png

That ends the topic. Hope the developers look forward to it it would make it much more better. Since speed is too low if the shot ricochets it looks stupid. Also i decreased rage as recharge is increased as shots are so slow no one will be standing still to get hit.

The best way to defeat ricochet, based on how I kept getting killed, is to out-range it with smoky/thunder/railgun/striker/ etc.. or to sneak up on it with a short range turret that deals more DPS, like your isida for example.

The only ones I'm seeing in battle come at me head-on mid-range, knowing their impact makes it very hard for Viking/Twins to maintain aim.

Even with 7/15 Lion it's game over for me every time, so MUing that mod is my priority at the mo.

About the only thing that takes them out is the Heavy Plasma gun, but it's so slow delivering shots I'm already dead but at least I get the satisfaction of seeing roast rico.

haha nice strategy dude but rico with a minus feild alteration can outrange and about ur heavy bally and take you out or the continious impact of plasma torch in cloase range can also take u out and if too close ur dealing self dmg to urself.

Well it's not the Rico's fault it's knocking you all over the place. Vikings lack of stability is the reason behind it.
