haha nice strategy dude but rico with a minus feild alteration can outrange and about ur heavy bally and take you out or the continious impact of plasma torch in cloase range can also take u out and if too close ur dealing self dmg to urself.

Hate to break it to you, but... not a dude.  Clue is in the name. ;)

Is there a translation for the rest of your post?

I think he's saying that a Ricochet with the Minus-field Stabilisation alteration equipped would make short work of your Heavy Plasmagun Twins + Viking combo because of the range at which minimum occurs in a Minus-field Stabilisation Ricochet.

The second part, he's saying that the continuous impact force of the projectiles of a Ricochet with the Plasma Torch alteration equipped can also help it defeat your Heavy Plasmagun Twins. He goes on to say that if you're too close, you'd be inflicting self-damage upon yourself.

My Titan also gets knocked around from time to time. It's annoying.

TBH I feel like hulls have too less stability right now and I hate getting pushed by hulls which are not supposed to be able to push me

Any of you have beserk alteration?

I tried it in the test server. It's good only if most of the enemies don't have ricochet protection.

With the buff, I'd say it's more viable now; still overpriced but viable.

Any tips for using rico? I find it as a powerful turret but  I don't think I am getting the hang of it - I use it with MFS alteration most of the time, also what hull/overdrive suits rico better?

Titan is good for DM - you survive long enough to empty cartridge.  I always use MFS as well.

Seen lots of Vikings using it because once the OD kicks in nothing can survive it.  But that seems to be the case with most turrets.

In any event, I'm not a fan of using light hulls with it - you want to keep a stream of shots on target and light hulls get impacted too easily.

Key is to learn how to bounce your shots.  I've killed many tanks sight-unseen as they hid behind a wall or in a tunnel waiting for RK to recharge.

If you are not bouncing at least 25% of your shots it's wasting the potential.

interesting story:

when I was a warrent officer (and thus did not have much monetary sense), I bought ricochet m1 at full price to "complete" my garage. Luckily, I had EVERY turret and hull in the game (at the time)...

[suspense]

but ~60% of them were m0 no MUs

That Titian Ricochet up there camped (where andrey_BR is) with Minus-Field Stabilisation and had a 15 killstreak before he died.

Camping-Ricochet.png

He mined there and racked up kills when we were trying to defend assaults. It sucks when you're helpless against something like that.

Striker with hunter alteration can camp there too :P

And Magnums.  Deadly up there, just can't get near them to take them out.

Please don't just say "ricochet sucks" or things like that, it's useless and practically flooding. (you're probably thinking that about this comment, but anyway.) Has anyone got any suggestions as to how to best fight ricochet?

I suggest using long ranged turrets for ricochet. The turret is very powerful, but has limited range. I would suggest something like railgun, shaft or thunder. Also the new gauss turret might be effective.

Is the stock rico pretty established? Do the alterations bring anything to the table that is worth considering?

Stock rico is a close/mid range brawler, quick dps.

Minus field stabilization makes it so you can actually use the bounce mechanic and hit far targets but you trade some dps.

Plasma torch... It's good for "in your face" confrontations, but the recharge rate is the same as stock, so it'll take a while to regenerate all your bullets.

Berserk... Seems weak on paper, you consume more energy for a chance to restore some. Doesn't seem worth to me.

Oh and the splash damage one I guess, but I don't see why you'd want to add the risk of taking self damage for a small splash.

Stock Ricochet is only close-range. Minus-field Stabilisation is where it turns into mid-range.

Beserk is weak because of the common Lion modules. I wouldn't fork pout 200k for Berserk unless everyone suddenly stops using Lion protection.

This one is more situational but it's great in certain game modes and maps.

So plasma torch, im looking at that since I enjoy light hulls and am thinking a surprise hi amount of damage would be nice. Not sure tho

Stock Ricochet is more practical.

Plasma Torch should be cheaper than it is right now. And for M4 Ricochet, plasma torch ammo runs out in about 7 seconds. If someone has high protection against you and they're moving, you'll most likely lose. You should act more stealthy with this alteration, which is more suitable with light and medium hulls. It's also good with a heavy hull on defense.

if you're planning on using this with Viking, I'm just letting you know that you shoot Stock plasma projectiles and not Stock Ricochet projectiles. Viking's Overdrive is basically an ammo refill for Plasma Torch Ricochet.
