Agreed. With Shaft, I wait in a spot forever. No enemy seems to arrive. So I release my shot in the air, right? So nobody can see. Then a Hornet, oblivious of my presence, drives by. I get pretty annoyed. :P

What? Well than....your toast.Even shooting the shot in the air won't save you.Enemies WILL still hear you releasing the shot.Pressing "P" will help with the noise.

Shaft is not for noobs,is for experienced players that know when too give the fatal strike,best for huge maps and medium.i think that is the best for NS on huge and medium maps.

There you dont need too worry of an incoming invasion of druggers noobs.

^exactly. If you don't have a shaft in kungur NS (example), your team is not complete.

Pressing "enter" works as well to exit the scope without having your shot fired. Shaft is so far the gun that gets me the highest score because I've been using it the most since the time I bought it when as a noob :P

Shaft is good for having fun, and for scoring and stealing kills, but with more M levels it turns slower when zooming beside it doesn't help to collect bonuses

You will be watching on camera all the players taking the crystals and bonuses and you are smoking inside your hole.. i know some would say the crystals are baits to hunt other tanks

so enjoy hunting and lose bonuses 

But am going to buy shaft m3, just for fun as very few these days are using anti shaft paints in maps where shafts are not expected

beside they are going to make the shaft switchable from the sniping mode to the ordinary mode

The other note if they just make it faster on moving around when you are done with max zoom

I really think that shaft is the most amazing weapon in tank I if you use it effectively

It has its own pros and cons though i ignore its cons and focus only on its pros:)

im not really a shaft userim an isida or rail gun but i dont like the fackt in scope mode i cant see my suuroundings but i do have a few triks

use hornet in brest go somwere fire move scope move scope its harder to tell where you will shoot from and in combe go on the wall plant a mine right on the curve and pice ppl off

 

in highland use the secret rooms

 

in cross hidd behind a corner wall

 

over all dont stay in one spot

I have shaft m3, its a great gun if used in right maps, but it makes u stay away from bonuses, beside it gets tooooo slow after you zoom in 

Its a very bad choice for me, 

i prefer playing with rail m3 rather than shaft, my shaft m3 was just a waste of lot of work and crystals

You can collect during game play bonus crystals more than the battle funds

Shaft is horrible!

In sniper mode sometimes it is awesome but then people get their firebirds and freezes and destroy me.

It takes too long to reload and is ineffective unless you hide in a Moon Silence Tunnel.

Hello sorry for late answer, well shaft is good just to have some fun, but if you wana collect crystals and win battles go with twins or firebird or freeze or isida.. even with rail its difficult to collect crystals

even though, but you will stay playing with shaft for your team, you can score first, but those who will be collecting the crystals will get more rewards than you, i think these a lot of crystals falling is making everyone blind and ruining up the battles

You can stand under the crystal box drops and have them, sometimes gold boxes too. Like the beside the pipe in the blue team.

And who cares about crystal drops if you are on the top of the team, enjoying killing everything which comes to take flag or kill the person who took enemy flag, then wait and get nice rewards.

you are right, but the falling bonuses are much higher than the battle rewards, just count it well, i can collect up to 2000 by just playing with twins or firebird with 1 - 2 hours game, and i can get a reward of 500 crystals just by playing with shaft by ranking the first, so it counts on what u want

2000 by crystals. Basically get 200 boxes in 1 or 2 hours. And it means collect almost every drop. Huh?

It's not difficult IMO, though im not a person who relies on pickups heavily, it is easy to get 2000 crystals from just pickups if no one else contests for them. Usually a good 30 mins in a sandbox for me if i concentrate on pickups would yield about 300-500 crystals

Shaft for the newbies can be hard to wield if they play against more experienced players. Look to play against players in the same rank or lower so you can get adjusted to it. Once you know how to use it "like the palm of your hands" it gets easier. I'm an example of it. When as a noob after buying it M0, I didn't even knew it had the scope/zoom mode. I'd simply fire it without scope and never understand how the other shaft players could kill me faster with less shots than me shooting them countless times. Luckily, one day when pressing "space" I unintentionally held it a bit too long before releasing it and I had a quick glance of the scope on the screen. Since then I trained myself in its use and became an annoying deadly sniper to many that crossed my cross-hair :lol:

I was a shaft user through the seargent major ranks. I loved it since it one shotted a bunch of hulls and i racked up lots of kills and very small deaths. I loved the scope. & loved the map sephurov. I scored 15-0 & 35-3 in that map. Very good scores and really fun. But now ive lost interest in sephurov. In fact, i havent played that map since before i became WO1. The reason being that sephurov is best for shafts & ive seen atleast half the players with shafts in TDM. & now that i lost interest in shaft i also did in that map. Maybe many people will agree with me on this: shafts were fun and created super great scores. But when you think about it, you dont need any skill of any sort to hold the scope there for a bit waiting for players. Sure its deadly, but no skill needed. Most important though, after a while it get boring just waiting there the whole game and releasing the space bar when someone is in your scope reach to shoot. So i realized that, like many players, it gets boring and no skill needed. Do you really wanto not have fun in a game? No. Thatd be wasting your time. So yeah i know its long, but thats my opinion and story on shaft. :D
