shaft is 2nd most important gun after freeze in CTF matches.especially in large maps as kungur and Serpukhov

its scope mode is more effective and accurate than a railgun in taking down the enemy tank who has the flag and are out of the range of rest of the team's turrets.

Shaft will be just too much of a low life thing. It's better than one of those japanese hackers coming to enhance the railgun without a developer knowing. I wonder if tanki is under new management due to shafts op status.

 

I mean having 2 or 3 shafts in a battle makes u go nuts and to leave battle but if they going to be more on the rise then there will be huge trouble and havoc. I guess wasps for that reason won't be out in battle as much and Viking and dictstor more out

Well, one of the things I remember when using Shaft is that whenever I camp and Scope, I'd always be thinking in my head ''Oh ****'' when I couldn't find any enemies because I knew they were probably right behind me. :P That's what sucks about camping with Shaft. The enemy could be right behind you plotting how he/she could best kill you in style. . . or just kill you fast.. .

I think shaft shouldn't be allowed to be micro upgraded to be fair. And to be honest, I want I upload pics of many hulls and weopon combo but I don't think I will ever get a good pic of shaft as I find it boring to use although since I drug if I used it I would be very good. But like I say it's disappointing to be camping stood still moving only turret while other are moving around being to interactive

Why not to be allowed to microupgrade shaft?

That is stupid,after shaft strikes the first shoot,it is a sitting duck for the enemies

and shaft is OP only for light tanks,for medium and heavy tanks isnt quite dangerous

And since wasps and hornet will be on the rise again it means shaft will be good at owning the small tanks. I wish mammoth isn't too bad because I recently started using mammoth and shaft and it's an average combo

Shaft is not OP with the new physics guys, nor is it underpowered as some believe. It honestly seems very balanced, with everything considered.

 

Pros: Quick charge-up time, slightly improved turret rotation speed, high damage, penetration through other hulls.

Cons: VERY slow reload, harder to aim than railgun, cant see behind you when in scope mode, slowest turret rotation speed, it can only 1-shot-kill Wasp/Hornet at higher ranks.

 

Factors to consider:

-All hulls are faster now, making it harder to aim with shaft, and due to the faster hulls, it was necessary to increase the charge up time for Shaft, otherwise enemy hulls would zip right out of the sights of the shaft in an instant.

-If a teammate or enemy bumps against your hull, it messes up your aim horribly, making it nearly impossible at times to shoot.

-If a ricochet, smoky, thunder, twins, railgun.... well basically if any weapon is shooting at you, its much harder to aim, especially if they are aiming at the corners of your hull to spin you around.

-There are many medium to high ranked paints which protect against shaft... and they may potentially be on the rise.

-If you dont kill the enemy on the first shot, you've lost your kill. Its very unlikely that they will still be in your sights 10 seconds later...

 

As you can see... shaft has MANY draw backs, and it requires more skill than ever now to use efficiently, mainly due to the significantly longer reload period.

 

I think Tanki did a great job with balancing all hulls/turrets (with the exception of Mammoth, which deserves a small HP boost) with the new physics.

i barely get in NS Red Alert and a noob generalismo instantly say to team kick me;/

and i got a good D/l and i crushed little tanks

that is unbelievable!!!!

shaft is so hated ;/

even your team dont stand you!

When this kick is removed??!!!!

OP at M3 :D

I'm sure at m3 it can only destroy a hunter wasp or hornet at m3

 

And btw there is too much speed in the game which makes it uncontrollable which isn't about hulls needed to be skillful to be good

i've used nothing else but mammoth and shaft for the last year ... i WAS very happy with it, but seriously now a 200% reduction in rate of fire ??? c'mon ... are the new physics missing a '1' in from of the rate ... should it be 17.4 (down from 21) rather than 7.4 ?? ..

 

and, furthermore, i was team kicked (for the first time ever) twice this afternoon with less than 5 minutes to go !!!!!! ... what's that all bout ???

Damn fun with new physics. On hornet you've got someone who can chase and snipe a flag stealer in time or assist against high hp and drugged tanks. With hornet's drift you can dodge while reloading.

 

I prefer M3 shaft now over M3 rail due to the higher chances to kill with a relatively fast charge up time, plus really fun to go around the map sniping.

 

Shaft can be used on a couple smaller maps now, on Sandbox CP it's a troll's weapon when you're attacking the defenders.

 

Requires more skill and thinking than ever before though, because of the faster paced gameplay aiming can be quite hard with the hornets and wasps flying around and the ramming effect added.

They made Shaft a usefull and beautifull turret again. Now you can play more realistically with Shaft. After shooting you can get back to cover...when reload is done...you find your target fast and take him out in a matter of few seconds....i doubt it that anyone will notice you in those seconds (ninja turret :P)....Old Shaft was lame cause you had to stay in one position and all opponents knew where you are...so you had to play it only with mammoth to not get killed. Now it is more an action turrret...and it can be used great with hornet or Viking too. Love it..well done Tanki!
