I prefer put my Shaft in a medium/light hull like Hornet or Viking so that I can move around and escape short-ranged weapons while reloading. (Especially in DMs)

Well it's quite rare that I see a shaft in DMs now, cause most probably they don't find a good spot to camp there

Actually shaft can be used in DMs. I use my m2 shaft in polygon and win (sometimes), In fact I prefer DMs because there are more targets. :) In polygon there are many good camping spots and once you reach one you can rack up tons of kills. Desert DM is good if you can team up with the railguns otherwise its hard to camp. However, for me, the prime map for shaft is Stadium CTF. So many hornets and easy to kill people stealing your flag. I can get more points sniping in stadium than my teammates who are capturing. Although they decreased shafts damage, it is way better. The fast turret rotation can out turn hornets and wasps at medium and long distances. And the arcade shots finish all those m2 vikings.

Shaft is great for dm's. You just need luck to spawn on the right spot. In my opinion, maps like stadium and Monte Carlo require skill. Having multiple railguns and shafts aiming at you at the same time makes it harder. Viking is probably best for these maps. You have enough speed to go back to cover and yet enough health to avoid getting one-shotted by an enemy shaft.

Shaft is quite effective in DMs on large maps like Madness or Desert. (Don't bother in Polygon/Highland)

Tips for using Shaft in DMs

*Make sure to use that arcade shot to it's fullest, you might make some kill-steals with that.

*You might also need a light/medium hull as you will be needing to change your camping spots often to make you less predictable and to escape short-ranged weapons. Using a heavy hull makes you a sitting duck when reloading.

*Pick up any double powers you can find. Double power means half the charge time and twice the kill rate.

*Place mines in your blind spots

*Watch out for Railguns!

exactly what i do in dm's

No one ever really gives it too much attention anymore

Here discuss why...

( I'll probably add more in the future on how to use it too so yeah, a guide if i can be bothered that is ;) )

Shaft after rebalance became one of the most usless weapons if you don't use power-ups, fully loaded it cannot kill a viking M3
