Nah, everyone thinks its bad, but the few Shaft users find it amazing !

They are better for kill stealing, unlike in the past, when they used to one-shoot and dominate.

I agree with you, but the high damage of the shaft also allows it to kill wasps and hornets on their first shot.

players prefer small maps in DM to earn faster fund than bigger maps,

I keep searching for appropriate maps .. and a team to be on my side

I realized that playing now shaft with hornet is much better than using heavy tanks with it

Shaft with heavy tanks is not that good unless you spawn right in the spot you want because getting to your camping spot you'll just get beat up.

I agree here. I only use my Shaft-Mammoth combo if my teammates are doing a good job of not letting enemies too close to the base and/or there are a lot of enemy Shafts around. Shaft-Dictator is relatively fast and has enough armor for most situations, so that's my main combo.

Not true at all.

As long as you avoid being out in the open you won't get beaten up. Even if you do get hit you won't die unless the whole other team shoots at you at once. Getting to a spot is no trouble, really. All I have to do is make my way going behind buildings or through bushes or hiding under ramps and bridges. When I get to my spot, the other shafts with their cute little hornets try to kill me and they never succeed. Just never. They try and try but they just suffer my own shaft (which I use only with M2 mammoth) over and over again. Yes you can move around a little more with a light hull, but at what cost? You will die much more frequently if there are players like me on the lookout. They all get shredded immediately as soon as I see them. Its no mystery why my D/L and rate of killing is far better than any other shaft/light hull combination in the battle, even when those tanks are on my team. And its not just when they [ light hulls] are paired with shaft. My mammoth and shaft shreds all light weight on comers with ease, especially rail guns.

So is a heavy hull worthless with shaft? Nope...........its better!

Go play a polygon DM with mammoth and shaft and then see how you like that combo. It's useless in DMs. Unless of course you play CTF but tbh shaft isn't really that good at CTF it's much better at DM with a light hull so... Edited by Theawesomecooldude

Light hulls help you avoid short-ranged weapons in DM, while Mammoth makes you a juicy target for them.

Sure, a one on one against another heavier Shaft means the lighter one loses, if the lighter one is foolish enough to camp and not be mobile, which is the whole point of the lighter hull.

Shaft with a heavy hull is fine in a DM if you're in the right map.

In a DM, Shaft is best on the blue team on Highlands. There's a building at the very far end of the map (right next to the spot where the flag would be in a CTF). You camp there and drop a mine behind you to protect your read and you'll top the DM, every single time.

In a CTF, the red team is best. Camp behind the container close to the arch entrance and you have a perfect view. I usually get a D/L between 20-30 in this position.

If you're on the blue team, you should be at the top of the ledge, next to the pipe. Hang over the edge of the ledge a little so that if you turn your turret, you can see all 3 entry points. Point your turret to the center entry point so that you have a 360 view. The moment you see an enemy approaching, immediately turn your hull and turret together (instead of just the turret since that is slower) and work your magic.

I agree, I use hunter m2 with shaft and it has the speed to reach camping grounds and the health to survive hits along the way. I've seen shaft Mammoths, they do okay, but with mammoth's all round slowness you don't get to pick your targets, they pick you instead. At least its easy to aim with the stability of mammoth though.

I play DMs with shaft, its my weapon of choice as well.

I'd say that shaft is an excellent support weapon. If you're playing a team game best use shaft to cover your team, in the end you'll end up with crystals. If you're playing a DM game, the shaft can be packed away. Shaft is useless in DM, slow reload makes you an easy target as everyone is an enemy.

1. Try to cover your teammates going into the heart of the enemy

2. Try to remain concealed with a small/fast hull for quick hiding, don't expose yourself

3. Don't let the enemy take advantage of your slow reload

4. Play in maps with plentiful cover

5. Stay out of DM games.

6. Stay out of maps like Iraq and that, as your charging takes time and by the time you can make a "one shot, one kill" you're dead.

Shaft is still epic!

Actually, I prefer shaft in DMs. In CTF, it is hard to keep up in points with the flag cappers. But in DM i can focus on scoring kills. The key is find camp spots, lay mines and steal kills. In battles with an overpopulation of hornets, the job is pretty simple, as everyone is a one shot target. In battles with mammoths and vikings, the job is harder. However, the larger tanks are pretty easy to kill steal. In Polygon DMs, I often have to settle for short term spots. Even with these, I can still crank out a few kills before passing. But when I reach the good spots, I score many kills,

Advantages of DMs over team modes:

1. More enemies=more targets

2. It is easier to win by yourself. In CTF, it is difficult to capture. In TDM you often waste an entire charge and only receive 2 pts.

3. No reliance on team. I often get good scores in team modes, only to receive a meager reward. In DM, the supply of crystals is spread evenly.

4. No boring waiting periods. I am a very impatient tanker, so if nothing crosses my scope within 10 seconds I release the charge on a wall. In DM enemies are everywhere, I usually don't have to wait long for a kill.

5. You can team with choice enemies. I try to team with skilled players, players with shaft, and players I can't one shoot. My favorite thing to do is team up with other shafts and create an impenetrable sniper nest.

6. The main drawback of DMs is how easy it is for enemies to flank you. Lay mines or keep your back to the wall to counter this.

I really enjoy shaft in DMs. I use it over m2 rico and m2 firebird. However, the best map/mode for shaft is stadium CTF. So many hornets, and the flag carriers are easy to pick off. In this mode I nearly always win the battle.
