Go play a polygon DM with mammoth and shaft and then see how you like that combo. It's useless in DMs. Unless of course you play CTF but tbh shaft isn't really that good at CTF it's much better at DM with a light hull so...

Shaft isn't good at CTF? Just because a shaft can't capture a flag doesn't mean its bad at CTF! Its purpose is to take out defenders and stop the enemy from capturing a flag. It serves a defensive role, a rather important one. Playing defensively, I make a very good score and afterward a pretty good profit. There has never been a battle where I am at the bottom of a team. Goes to show that some are just narrow minded.....

Now, if you're in DM the issue is that everyone can surround you. When enemies surround you you die if you're in wussy little hornet. If you drive mammoth you might be able to fight your way out because you actually have a decent health.

Sure, a one on one against another heavier Shaft means the lighter one loses, if the lighter one is foolish enough to camp and not be mobile, which is the whole point of the lighter hull.

I'm not blind. I can easily spot out a shaft that moves around. Its like fighting rail gun, which is not a very difficult thing to destroy. Move around as much as ya want, as long as someone like me is able to spot you might as well kill yourself.

Whole point of the lighter hull is to be sneaky, which involves making sure the other Shaft has either fired already or looking away, then darting a quick hit and hiding again. I'm not blind either, so if you're poking that scope at me I'll hide.

Here's the thing. With hornet in Dms you can get to your camping spot easily and through some craft you can easily outsmart enemies that try to kill you in your camping spot that you have claimed. Plus mammoth is even worse off being surrounded since it is slow enough as it is so its just a big health pinata that will be whittled down very fast by every weapon that shoots at it.... just sayin

Well....this is going to go on forever.

My problem with hornet is that I find it to be just too easy to destroy. With mammoth its not impossible to outsmart your opponent. Using tactics as simple as reversing your direction ( maybe while being chased by an enemy around a corner) can get the enemy in your sights. Mammoth can fight enemies head on in close combat whereas hornet has to run for the hills if its chased by a gun like isidia. Mammoth can take the necessary damage as I charge up a shot. The shot blows away the tank and I go on, still quite alive, to a camping spot or onward to fight my next opponent. If hornet is supposed to run away, then how could you possibly run away and charge a scope shot at the same time? Using arcade shots could take too much time, and others could steal your kill. Another thing to consider, you don't have to be in a camping spot to shoot, but if some close combat is needed then I'm saying that mammoth might be the better choice for such situation, since it can take a little punishment. Mammoth also has no trouble fighting two enemies at once. But since we're talking about if we get surrounded, then where am I going with this? Well, here's the thing: if a hornet and a mammoth were put in the exact same situation, which is more likely to survive to kill at least one attacker (as in bringing someone down with you)?

Putting shaft on a hornet makes it serve virtually the same role as rail gun. Tens of thousands of rail guns have died fighting me. But whatever, not a very strong point, I know. Here's what I should say: If you shoot me with your shaft, I'm obviously not going to die, being a mammoth with dirty paint on. So after you shoot me I notice that my health bar takes a dent, so I go into a search for my "assassin". If I am unable to find you, I hide. It's as simple as that. Drugging won't kill me in one shot ether if you use M2, since I have 26% shaft protection on at all times. I'm hoping to upgrade to winter paint soon, too.

Even if you two don't agree with my opinions, I am still not going to trade in my mammoth for a hornet. Ever. I don't even own M0 hornet...

In the end the problem really is what you're going up against. A Hornet may not be a challenge, but what about a Rail/Mammoth? Wonder which one would win, Shaft or Rail in that situation.

Rail-mammoths are rare, since its not as effective as hornet-rail, I guess. Of the ones I've fought none have given me that much trouble... they just take longer to kill.

Once met a Rail/Titan.. he drugged and was pretty much invincible with the Isidas healing him. :P

Ok...so if a rail drugs and has isidia support and is with titan, then that would indeed be a challenge. But it's not everyday that I see that happening in the battles I'm in...

New commemoration of tanki, wonderful gold boxes falling from the sky

Once again "Shaft" will be harmed,

to have a gun that needs to be camped and stopped to load and fire, will be easy prey if you try to get some gold box.

Do not want to change weapon, I want developers to decrease the load time, increase the power of the gun as it was in the beginning, just so the loss in other situations find compensation ...

Only game in CTF

^ I've gotten 2 or 3 golds with Shaft. One was with Shaft and Wasp... in Highland. It's not impossible.

I've also got 3 boxes of gold (3K) in one day only on different maps (Rio, Serpuhov and Sandbox).
But it needed to change the feature of the game with Shaft
Or you're camped in the normal game, or use a lighter hull (often dying) and tries in luck.

What I seek is no more crystals or gold boxes
What I seek is a kind of compensation for the immobility of the normal game with Shaft
This is limited by its low mobility and delay loading, lack of peripheral vision in sniper crosshairs; compensation should have more power to shoot down the enemy; and more facilities for camping on many maps

Who really likes Shaft should always claim for developers to improve the gun

Shaft is good enough for now in my opinion. If you don't like to camp/find camping too hard, use Railgun. Shaft was meant for hardcore snipers.

Speaking of sniping, here's a quick rundown on Shaft combinations.

Wasp-Shaft: Very uncommon, somewhat hazardous to use. Very light sniper combo.

Hornet-Shaft: Relatively common, highly mobile, not that hazardous to use, but weak at close range. Medium-light sniper combo.

Hunter/Viking/Dictator-Shaft: Also quite common, medium combo for people who like to camp more.

Titan/Mammoth-Shaft: Somewhat uncommon, heavy combo for hardcore campers. Gives you the upper hand against other Shafters.

^ Dude, seriously, Wasp and Hornet are NOT that different! Jeez...

Actually, there IS some difference between Hornet and Wasp. First of all, Hornet is WAY more stable while Wasp has greater control for weaving around a large group of hulls.

^^ I know they're different. But everyone treats Hornet like it has like 70 more HP than Wasp, and I'm sick of it. It takes the same amount of rail shots to take out a Wasp as it does a Viking, so why does everyone treat it like it is horrendously weak??

And the stability is only an issue if your shot when you shoot.

^ From what I've seen it's true. My Wasp is taken out in 2 rail shots, I've seen Vikings taken out with 2 rail shots. Maybe it's different at your rank, but I'm not lost.
