^^ I know they're different. But everyone treats Hornet like it has like 70 more HP than Wasp, and I'm sick of it. It takes the same amount of rail shots to take out a Wasp as it does a Viking, so why does everyone treat it like it is horrendously weak??

And the stability is only an issue if you're shot when you shoot.

Hornet has noticeably more HP than Wasp. It may not seem like much, but it really helps when you're pelted by Rico or Thunder shots. It takes 2 (minorly MU'ed) M0 Thunder shots at close range to kill a Wasp, while it takes 3 to kill a Hornet. That extra shot needed to kill you can be the difference from being blown up and getting a kill. I have both Hornet and Wasp, and in my experience, Hornet doesn't flip as often. That said, I do like Wasp; it's just that Hornet is better in certain situations.

Also, yes, Wasp and Viking can be taken out by two rail shots, but after a single hit, Wasp has close to no health. A single Rico or a burst of Twins fire can kill you. On the other hand, a hit taken by Viking will leave you with some health to spare (at least from what I can tell; I don't have Viking in my garage), which also will determine if you survive or not. Besides, Railgun isn't the best measure of damage here; it takes the same number of nuclear missiles to destroy a house as it does a dog. If you were to compare their durabilities to, say, Twins, you'd see a vast difference.

I don't really see the point of using Viking in this situation, though, since Dictator with Forester can survive 3 vanilla M0 Railgun shots.

shaft m2 can 1 shoot hornets m3

Unless, of course, they have Needle. (Which is quite common considering the Light Kit M3)

@killerpenguin: I was just starting this massive rant to disprove you when I remembered we were asked to stay on topic. You should heed that suggestion as well.

Shaft is a great turret. Its sniper mode is very good for players with patience. However watch out for people who wait around a corner for you to shoot then fire on you. Only downfalls are its (now) slow reload speed (just a little faster than railgun) and a very slow traverse rate. Hard to keep up with wasps and hornets going sideways

Absolutely. M2 is amazing. It is worth every crystal you save. Get it.

I bought M2 Shaft in today's sale at 50000 odd crystals and am wondering whether I did the right thing...yes, there is nothing wrong with the turret itself....but, in almost any game that I went to today, be it Kungur, Serpuhov or Highland, there were close combat weapons dominating the scene....I am talking about TDMs alone....at least you get some cover from your team and can still get a score....in CTF, DM and CP, shaft was not at all effective and I had to take out my M2 Fire again to get back in the game...I saw one of my enemy shafts using Inferno paint and he was still getting killed!!!

In one game, I think it was Kungur, a firebird killed me three times because I kept re-spawning at the same location....and this is a battle in which my team was on the winning side!!

Use Hornet with Shaft to escape short-ranged weapons and place mines in your blind spots.

Shaft is bad because if you use shaft you cant get crystals from sky XDXD

Eh, Shaft is extremely efficient at sniping, so I usually end up taking more of the battle fund, and therefore get about the same/higher amount of money.

I got this result today with my M2 Fire....I dont think I would have got this result with my M2 Shaft....keep in mind my team's ranks in this battle and the opposition's ranks....I think this proves that Shaft is a support weapon and not an attacking weapon

^^ Highland is a great Shaft map. Also Silence if you're blue.

Anyone notice how a Shaft/Hornet always shows up in Combe CTFs? Like, seriously?
