I got this result today with my M2 Fire....I dont think I would have got this result with my M2 Shaft....keep in mind my team's ranks in this battle and the opposition's ranks....I think this proves that Shaft is a support weapon and not an attacking weapon

~le awesome pic~

As long as the opposite team is full of Hornets (which happens alot), I'm ok with that.

Shaft is the most underrated weapon in the game.If you keep your eyes on the hornets and pic seruhov map on tdm or ctf mode i garuntee you third or fourth place, the only downfall is that since it is commonly used with titan and mammoth it is not the best for crystal boxes. It can target wasps pretty easy from a distance and if you are upclose and a meelee weapon engages you on a head-on dual and you have a heavy tank i garuntee you will win if you wait until you are almost dead to fire.

Great Stadium CTF game today with M2 shaft M2 Hunter...joined the game when score was 43-7....we won 43-50....Shaft was the best in giving support and maintaining denial of advantage...as I mentioned in the previous page, still good only as a support role...not as attacker....I know I got 500+ crystals but I never picked a single crystal drop in order to maintain pressure on the opposite side...in a game like this, you can imagine that you could have easily raked up 100-200 crystals from drops alone if you used any other turret...still a good game...getting better with Shaft now considering that I got this score without drugging...hence the 10 deaths from my side

Do you find shaft "boring"? Im thinking of getting it...

It can be extremely fun, it depends entirely on how well you use it, and how creative you get with your shots. The other large factor in enjoying Shaft is map choice. And even if your map isnt perfectly suited for Shaft, using prediction and a few tricks, Shaft can make for some incredibly strategical gameplay when used on a light hull. If you use tap-shots to make enemy railguns miss their shots, make use of Shaft's ability to spawn kill and destroy druggers, as well as to flip enemy light hulls whenever possible, Shaft can be very rewarding. It's always been my favorite weapon, because I use it to its full potential. If you're sitting, camping all day, and not using your brain the entire time, then you won't truly enjoy Shaft, unless you're completely satisfied with camping in a corner using a heavy hull. I am not one of those campers. Of course at times it is beneficial to hold a position to kill off a few enemies when needed, but if you use Shaft like Railgun, it can be a great weapon in any game larger than 4v4. I must say, I find a significant drop off in Shaft's productivity rate when used in a game with small amounts of players. This is because Shaft is best used while targeting enemies who do not see you coming, or are focused on another task. If they are intentionally pursuing you, then your chances of survival drop a bit. A skilled Shaft player can manage doing well in 3v3 and 4v4s occasionally though, depending on the enemies you are facing.

Just my opinions... :)

I really enjoy the Shaft, one of my best guns. However I have some issues with it.

1. No one respects the fact that you are sniping!!!! I can't stand it when inconsiderate team mates rear-end me while I am trying to aim!!! Can't stand that!!!

2. Can anyone give me a example of a real long range tank that has such a horribly shaky gun? That is unrealistically unsteady! I realise that it helps balance out the gun, but I think that how slowly it spins and the restricted view are more than enough to counterbalance the power. I don't mind a little shakiness, but the way it is now, is totally unrealistic. Does anyone agree?

Cheers,

Blenderite

Shaft on Sandbox can be dead weight or game-changing teammate, it all depends on skill.

Can't wait to get it M2.

I know a Shaft player who only uses Hornet and does extremely well. She actually plays offensively, and usually only enters the scope when she sees an enemy. She seems to know exactly how much charge is required to kill a Wasp, Hornet, or Hunter and always takes the shot almost immediately. Head on combat with Shaft: Somehow, it's possible.

This happens a lot, unfortunately. A lot of players don't appreciate the work that an experienced Shaft user can do.

Especially annoying on Esplanade. There's a ledge on the top level where, if you angle your tank correctly, you can have a view of the entire enemy ground area. I do recall being pushed off several times by an annoying teammate.

But Titan doesn't care. I like to use Titan for sedentary sniping, but it also really comes in handy when you have that one jerk on your team that wants to push you off. Karma ensues.
