This is the most stupid of all the stupid things that tanki has done recently. A sniper is meant to be hidden and take critical one kill hits, not lit up like a bloody Christmas tree, or some crazy kid in a disco with a laser pen. How stupid must you be to work for this company. The final nail in the coffin to Shaft. But I guess that is what the developers really want. Just in case you dont get it: STUPID .... STUPID ... STUPID

If enemy players cannot see the laser, then the update isn't as bad, but if enemy players can see it, i wont even attempt trying it...

Maybe target won't see before shot, but all of other players will see  <_<

Going back to an idea I had earlier:

Maybe make it more like an actual laser and only display the point where the laser hits, instead of the full beam.

The Tanki Online Developer have been making it much harder for Pro Snipers and snipers in general Snipers to be good. longer reload times, lower damage, and now adding a laser to show where we are. one of the biggest advantages of being a sniper is your enemy not know were you are! This is like saying 'the shaft is being removed from gamplay, we thank you for spending your Tanki career using it'.

I like the scope it works really well, today when I was at camp I used it and I came first always I wonder why they didn't use it, I like the part when your looking through the scope and hold down spacebar and get someone with it, its a head shot that's what I say

 

 

P.S  its a 1 shot kill

I like call of duty 2 I like the snipers to, excspecally the snipers your right about the hold your breath thing

Laser on Shaft- no way,

 

Shaft is a slow reload and often it disappoints by not getting  one shot one kill. Now add a laser and you can't even hide. I like to scope in on a spot that the enemy is going to be and wait for him to get there, That won't be happening either. 

 

When I scope in the stupid thing starts up high every time and I need to bring the scope lower. Nothing like broadcasting your shot. 

 

the crosshairs jump around like I'm shooting from a boat. add a laser and and there will be no way to take 10 seconds for a precision shot

 

laser on shaft is lame

I think that the shaft laser should have an "on" and "off" button because, there are people like me and you that don't like that idea of a laser that gives away your location.

With the shaft update, gone are the bouncing sights. Shaft will no longer bounce around in scope mode.

This is a great idea. While I'd prefer having no laser sight, a small dot at the endpoint of the laser provides warning to the target while not exposing the user's location. Perhaps the whole length of the laser sight should be visible to teammates so they'll have a better idea of what your line of sight is.

 

The only issue I can find with this is the fact that it's hard to see a small, 2D dot if it's on the front of your tank.

The size of the dot doesn't really matter here. The issue is that a Shaft could simply aim at a side of your tank that you can't see due to the camera, which would effectively make it invisible unless you turn your turret around a lot.

I really doubt there will be an option to turn off the laser.

 

IMO, the whole point of the laser is to diminish the effect of the shaft because, to be honest, the shaft is OP. I use shaft exclusively and unless the opposing team is FULL of druggers, you can pretty much control the flow of the game if you're a shaft in a well placed spot (especially the red team on Silence, behind that container).

 

I welcome the laser because it will make it more of a challenge now :)

Just because Shaft can kill in one shot does NOT mean that it's OP. This is the only gun in which you have to control pre-charge, you have to stop moving in order to one-shot people, and you are very vulnerable when using it.

Can I see some feedback on the shaft update? I like the idea, but it seems a little unfair to shafters.

Maybe something like this:

I like the laser idea.

If it is going to be implemented, i would change one thing. Change it so only the point where it hits is visible.

On a lot of lasers in real life, you can't see the beam, but you can see where it hits. Having the full beam also comes at a serious disadvantage to snipers. The beam leads right to our hiding spot. If an enemy sees the beam, the come and target us. As a turret that is generally targeted anyway, this update makes shaft even more vulnerable. I personally feel the laser effect should be modified so that only the target dot is visible. Changing the effect to just the dot, would make it more realistic, and a little less hindering to campers.

I also like the fact that shaft will no longer bounce around. I've found that this is a hindering factor when I'm shooting the smallest sliver of an enemy tank, or through a small gap between buildings and walls.

 

Names for the new turret:

Jackhammer, striker.

because you are going to eliminate snipers from game play. perhaps you should rethink and adjust the major attributes of the other turrets as well?

i mean the point of a sniper is ambush and to stay hidden... so lets level the playing field by removing, or significantly reducing the major attributes of the other turrets... like isida should receive damage for repairing team mates...

twins should receive damage after three 3 consecutive seconds of continuous firing or shooting... ricochet's projectiles should loose 80% of damage after one 1 ricochet, or bounce... 50% of railgun's projectiles disintegrate before reaching it's target...

i realize these suggestions are ridiculous... but no more ridiculous then putting a beacon on a sniper...

and finally: because you are removing sniper game play from the game. i think it is only fair that all the crystals i spent on this form of game play be returned to my account... and you can keep the now useless sniper turret..
