I wouldn't necessarily say they are noobs, I used to think that shaft was for noobs but that's only because I know that before the rebalance, it was probably the most powerful turret in the game. It is still good if you know how to use it properly but many people don't and that's the thing that annoys me the most when a person at major rank joins with an m0 shaft

i agree with you

That was good for your rank, but sometimes you did so big defence mistakes(opening scope on middle, on slope; don't see mine, getting too near to drugger railgun) but by the way you got a good score with lots of attacker. İt could be better, but this performance was very well  :)  :)

The most important part for you, you started to learn shafters' the most big problem: some players hate shafters.

the railgun wasnt so much of a problem cause I usually messed his aim :p

and for the going on scope, sometimes arcade isnt enough :p

there was a Isida M3 with a viking M2 I think,

I just killed him with my shaft and he was damning me like hell :p

but @Who.Cares? not me xD

it's fun the other way round as well. :p when i want to pawn those shafters i get either freeze /firebird and hornet either freeze or cook them to death. The funniest thing happens when i am not killing them , just keeping the freeze effect intact by making short bursts and keep going around them......:p

Being a shaft user, I find that Freeze technique really annoying, but at the same time, got to appreciate the user of the turret when he does that. There's times when I fall back and defend using a freeze, and although I'm not as good with it as I am with Shaft, I love practicing with it while I defend flags.

I really find the shaft a lot of fun. Sometimes you get some bad comments here and there, like I kept picking out targets this day on a Highways CTF map(That is a hell of a map for shafters!!) and some railgun user started cursing all the shafters shooting everyone down. I kind of felt bad that I even took out one fellow 4 times consecutively everytime he spawned.

And then come the moments when you have to back your teammates as well while they're bringing the enemy flag home, or advancing onto the objective. It's moments like those when I feel like a really useful team player although I'm so far away.

The most testing parts are when you're facing an enemy behind cover(specially railgun), or more than one of them try to take you out. You just have to wait for that tiny bit of their tank to show up and make them regret that move.

Shaft all the way! I respect turrets like Freeze for being annoying and the Railgun for being a pretty professional weapon, but Shaft is my dose of fun at Tanki:)

Almost everyone hates shafters! In almost every game you're going to have people that talk smack at you.

I respond appropriately :)

Specially when they let their tongues out loose, that's when they deserve more;)

Shaft is a really cool gun. Most players dont know how to play with it, and thats why there is a lot of criticism. However once you learn how to play and find a good map, then you can totally change the game. You can stop flag stealing attempts and help your teammates. Even after rebalance, it is still OP. :D :D

I agree. If you know how to wield it, it can change the flow of a game under the right circumstances. Those circumstances are (in my opinion and this only applies to CTF):

1. You should be in a position where you can have a good view of all possible escape routes from the enemy territory.

2. You have to have a hull that can take a lot of damage so that you're not destroyed in one shot by a drugging rail or shaft at a critical moment.

3. Play a defensive and leader role for your team. Since you can view all the escape routes, you can determine what your team needs to escape with a captured flag. You've got to communicate this to your team.

4. Make sure the map is a medium to large map like Silence or Sephurov, for example. Small maps will never work for a shaft unless you're constantly drugging which is a waste IMO.

5. Make use of the shaft impact force by flipping opponents when they're stealing a flag.

6. Always attack isidas first. If you don't, they will just heal their team mates no matter how much you shoot their team mates.

7. Never live in scope mode. That's a total waste. You're a waste of space for your team since you're not destroying the enemy half the time and you're not watching all the escape routes so you can't really coordinate your team.

In short, a shaft user, IMO, should lead the team but don't be cocky about it :P Be nice to your team mates and request, don't demand. I believe if you follow the rules above, you can always completely control the flow of the game unless everybody on the other team is drugging in which case shave your head so you don't end up pulling all your hair out :P

PS: I mostly play on the red side of the map in Silence and I can tell you that all you need for that map is a Rail, Thunder/Rico and most importantly a Shaft, 2 Isidas and a Freeze. Get those and you can win.

I dont agree with some parts :)

you say a hull that could take damage, well, those tanks usually are titan and mammy that are slow

and casue of laser you got to be fast and moving :)

and the orange part, seen my small map scores?

BTW I just use pick ups :)
