i hate it when noobs use shaft laser up close

Well, there are times when it's useful, like when you're up against a stationery target right in front of you, then you have a better chance surviving in sniping mode, otherwise before you land a second or third normal shot, you're done. Even if you're not able to kill your target alone in team matches, you can at least weaken him better in sniping mode to prevent him from taking your teammates down.

Of course, if you're up against a moving target circling around you and picking on you, sniping mode is terrible.

Worst part is when you project your enemy's path wrongly when they're coming to you, and then they see you charging your shot on them and divert, and you have a charged shot but the turret isn't fast enough to reach them

the worst reasoning I've ever seen bro! :) :D

Haha I know I know, that was terrible. Wasp m0 and m1 look pretty similar, but it's not like someone's going to use an m0 wasp at such a rank is it? By the way, why are you showing me that pic?

You said Wasp has "a lot" less HP than Hornet. That's a lie. Hornet does have more HP, but not "a lot" more.

Well, it does have enough to take a full shot from a shaft while it still has good protection

to say rank doesnt matter, XP 0 :p

and hornet M3 without protection can barely survive my full shot with only 6 HP remaining...

Freeze is my second turret, I use it when I'm on the complete defensive. So annoying when I'm up against a freeze and I'm a shaft user, but I love using it, and your reason is also one of the reasons why I use it as well. I'm not so good with since I'm a default shaft user, and my keyboard doesn't like me holding three buttons at once, which I have to find a solution to and practice it.

my KB doesnt support like directional keys up and left and turret changing together

but it supports W and A and < or > at the same time :p

True true, given the upgrades you've made on your turret, a hornet m3 without protection is near  to done in one shot. In several occasions I've considered switching to Hunter, but I don't want to lose out on speed, which is something I've gotten very used to relying on now

Damn keyboards, I completely forgot about WASD, and I didn't know < and > could be used. Must try that out. I did try Z and X, but it worked just like the arrow keys

I got a question for you. When you're on a map like Monte Carlo, playing CTF as Hunter, aren't you unable to jump over that space that wasps and hornets can jump (with the speed boost at lower mods)? What would be your solution to that, since taking the underground route can get you killed much before you get halfway through, because only hornets and wasps can just jump over that space, snatch the flag and jump back over again?

its not very hard to master freeze

i find long range guns hard to use (but i am a close range fighter)

WASD is the most used combo in most of the games, how could ya? :p

directional keys are used with Z&X&C and WASD are used with <&>&? :p

I cant jump, probably a fellow rail or shaft could help by shooting you from back to boost you

I get my score in monte by killing flaggers to get bonus EXP

or cap the flags that are thrown(flaggers dead) near our flag :p

I do my work as a shaft to protect and support my team and dont care to much about capping :p

check this,

curss8ionffinh8zjjy.jpg

second and third one got thei scores capping flag, I rarely capped 2,

and I had so much D/L there were a drugger team unto killing me off

athena, do you have to even come here? :/

I know its a forum and every one is free to say anything s/he wants that doesnt break the rules,

BUT, Im begging you, please dont critic shaft this much(I know you love doing, but we've already talked on that much

and no ones giving up on their beliefs),so lets just go on a peace :)

and Excuse me for calling you a little girl only judging from your nick,

Ok I might have been banned by some kind of a noob penguin upon using some "racist" terms. ( Though I have to agree that the guide written by him is well written).

Anyway it's me Athena :D and I hope you didn't miss me. Forgive me for taking time to reply to your post

Meh,Even being a shafter, I know the maps I play at like the back of my hands :)

well,as I play do a lot of rotationg, targeting and arcade hitting, Im so not losing my targeting, rotation, etc

and I dont play with shaft all the time so my playing will be ruined,

and neither I want to enter the SL, I just want to have fun of the game :)

No, simply no. Lol when you were playing in your main, Alidarklordi didn't even see you playing with shaft. ( idk how but you were somehow in my friends list ----______----- until I cleared it at commander and I have played some battles with you). I'm pretty much sure that it's playing with other turrets that kept your skills "intact" and helped them to grow.

True, I agree with you. Not every player has the desire to join SL but believe me I have seen more than enough lower rankers who have a "need" to join SL clans in the future. Also in my post I'm not talking about players who use shaft once in a while, I am talking about the ones who are hardcore shafters and whom are possessed with it and worship it. Most of them don't even understand the damage done to their skills while using it.

I didn't have anything to do with it. Thanks for the compliment anyhow.

I haven't used my Shaft for a while, since I've been using M2 Railgun as a long range weapon. Works very well in that role. I've been experimenting with using the ridge on the top of the turret as an iron sight, and it seems to have potential, especially if you "silence" it.

Once I obtain M2 Hunter and M2 Shaft, I'll likely be using that combo for a good deal of my matches due to its versatility.

Haha that 713 score.

As a shafter, I keep to support and defense unless I see an opportunity or if my team is losing, and in those cases I attack as long as the defence without me is reliable. During such times I feel a hornet is useful.

Maybe I should shift to hunter. It's only monte carlo that keeps me from doing so, as well as the speed factor which enables me to escape better from a wasp.

Ok there are many reasons I hate shaft . Since you asked I will politely list down 2 of my reasons.

1) Shaft simply gives birth to noobs- While playing with shaft one simply CANNOT move his hull. Getting to know how to move your tank around is a great skill that is even hard to be mastered at the highest level of this game. (If you have seen any of the starseries matches you may have seen those players moving in reverse "knowing" the map and the stats of their hull like the back of their hand) do you think such skills are earned easily and playing with shaft will help a player grow such skills?

The same thing goes with targeting and many other sets of skills well. A player who is avidly playing with his beloved shaft may lose his targeting, turret rotation, turret hull co ordination etc, in the long run. These skills play a vital role while playing with every single one of those other turrets in this game. Not to mention if such players are planning to enter an official tournament or a recognized clan in starladder in latter stages of their game it is then they will realize that their career has been ruined by shaft.

I know what you are thinking of right now... Doesnt shafts arcade mode/being a mobile Shafter help one improve his skills? Yes it does, but the amount it helps is minimal due to the fact that you do the same thing 100x times more with every other combo.

2) Shaft totally ruins the dynamic centered gameplay of this game- I really really don't understand the reason why shaft was introduced to this game in the first place. After it was added it totally ruined the dynamic gameplay which was was one of the greatest aspects of this game. ( Maybe this is one of the reasons why shaft is being hated by many other players? )

I can list down many more reasons. But I wont waste my time going into them since I think these 2 will be clearly enough to prove my point. I don't also blame lower rankers for choosing shaft either. The main reason being shaft I really OP at lower ranks and they will simply be choosing it because of the high damage and the lack of protection paints against it at that level.

You might also want to know whether I have any experience with shaft to be talk like this. Yes , I do. In one of my alts I have a M4 shaft and I have used it for quite some time. I was at the exact same spot currently most of you guys are in, admiring shaft. It's just I don't want to see damage done to my skills at the beginning of my career ( which led me to start over) to be done to any other lower ranker.

Your reasoning is completely subjective so I will respond subjectively to one thing you said.

You're talking about moving in reverse...IMO, that's one of the most annoying things people do. Sometimes, you're capturing a flag or running towards a tank that just stole your flag to destroy him and then all of a sudden, out of nowhere, this little tank reverses into you and won't budge, completely blocking your way and your chances of killing the flag stealer. Why did that tank do this? Because he was moving backwards since he knew the map like the back of his hand. I won't tell you how many times this has happened and the flag stealer has got away.

Again, all your points are subjective which is why my response is subjective and I don't understand why you're bashing shafts because it's all based on your perspective and opinion and you seem to think you have the only right opinion ;)

Yeah right, you didn't quite get my point. We are talking about two levels of gameplay here. I am talking about the highest level of gameplay (I.e star series) where there is tons more co ordination while you are merely talking about the un co ordinated regular battles where every one is acting mostly on their own instinct. My point here is not that every one should learn to go reverse using their tanks. My point is in order to do such feats at high ends of gameplay one needs to at least start developing them by at lower ranks. And its exactly what shaft is stopping you from, gaining valued skills.

I didn't state such thing anywhere. If you go read my replies above you might be able to understand that I am just expressing my opinion. Nothing more nothing less.
