fighting in ping-pong teaches you much,bro ;)

Ok, you got me there. How do you use Shaft in ping-pong???

I've seen that once (I mean shaft in ping-pong) and it was sad to watch.

Even at Combe, which is (arguably) more shaft-friendly, shaft is more slow-moving target than a threat.

if they don't shot you, just do KS

İf they shot to you, get medium-heavy hull and lean a wall(for prevent quake) and shot :)

You should see one thing

Different shafters have different ideas. But in my opinion, shafters generally working while under fire. Ping-pong is harder but not so much

Got to try that. But my previous experience with Shaft doesn't give me much hope. I will probably get mad after 4th death and change to other turret.

:D

best thing to do with shaft in P-P to get kills is like when 2 enemys are hitting each other

you charge up and wait until if you shoot, they both will die,and shoot

and BooM,you got urself 2 kills

:D

My suggest, first try easier map. Sandbox , Atra...

After try Arena, Camp, Ping-Pong

Polygon and İran will be very hard, so put them at the end of the list.

Anyway, don't forget. There should be enough light tank. İt should be at least 1/3, 1/2

Haha that 713 score.

As a shafter, I keep to support and defense unless I see an opportunity or if my team is losing, and in those cases I attack as long as the defence without me is reliable. During such times I feel a hornet is useful.

Maybe I should shift to hunter. It's only monte carlo that keeps me from doing so, as well as the speed factor which enables me to escape better from a wasp.

We all know that isn't possible :P

What kind of "skills"..? Dancing around with a railgun? (the really over-powered weapon)

A shaft sniper has to find a spot where he can shoot unimpeded by view, by fellow players, or by enemy snipers.

Playing Monte Carlo with flame thrower, I somehow scored 20 kills in 15 minutes. In the same time, I had 40 kills

with shaft. There is, however, always one newbie who bumps your aim at a critical time, lets a railgunner through, who

proceeds to kill you all, losing the battle and hundreds of crystals. When you see a teamie with that light going out into the distance,

do NOT bump him in your hurry to get killed a half second sooner... :-(

All guns have special hard downsides. However, shaft's downsides are so different. Because of that, some players think, shaft doesn't need skill.

Problems are difference gaps.

İf you look at forum carefully, you will see a point. There is some equipment haters and lowers. You have to look at their ideas, but their ideas shouldn't be your main ideas.

Using shaft with anything but Hunter (moving) or Viking (sitting) is problematic : Titan and Mammoth are too slow, they just take longer to die. Using shaft with Wasp, you need incredible Weight upgrade not to tip over. But it can be done. And Shaft against railgun only works when you can see them coming from a distance. Or shoot them in the Dome while they are hiding. :D

Ok there are many reasons I hate shaft . Since you asked I will politely list down 2 of my reasons.

1) Shaft simply gives birth to noobs- While playing with shaft one simply CANNOT move his hull. Getting to know how to move your tank around is a great skill that is even hard to be mastered at the highest level of this game. (If you have seen any of the starseries matches you may have seen those players moving in reverse "knowing" the map and the stats of their hull like the back of their hand) do you think such skills are earned easily and playing with shaft will help a player grow such skills?

The same thing goes with targeting and many other sets of skills well. A player who is avidly playing with his beloved shaft may lose his targeting, turret rotation, turret hull co ordination etc, in the long run. These skills play a vital role while playing with every single one of those other turrets in this game. Not to mention if such players are planning to enter an official tournament or a recognized clan in starladder in latter stages of their game it is then they will realize that their career has been ruined by shaft.

I know what you are thinking of right now... Doesnt shafts arcade mode/being a mobile Shafter help one improve his skills? Yes it does, but the amount it helps is minimal due to the fact that you do the same thing 100x times more with every other combo.

2) Shaft totally ruins the dynamic centered gameplay of this game- I really really don't understand the reason why shaft was introduced to this game in the first place. After it was added it totally ruined the dynamic gameplay which was was one of the greatest aspects of this game. ( Maybe this is one of the reasons why shaft is being hated by many other players? )

I can list down many more reasons. But I wont waste my time going into them since I think these 2 will be clearly enough to prove my point. I don't also blame lower rankers for choosing shaft either. The main reason being shaft I really OP at lower ranks and they will simply be choosing it because of the high damage and the lack of protection paints against it at that level.

You might also want to know whether I have any experience with shaft to be talk like this. Yes , I do. In one of my alts I have a M4 shaft and I have used it for quite some time. I was at the exact same spot currently most of you guys are in, admiring shaft. It's just I don't want to see damage done to my skills at the beginning of my career ( which led me to start over) to be done to any other lower ranker.

I would disagree with you but that weapon has officially became a joke, i can't disagree either, i have a fully upgraded m2 shaft sitting in my garage, never to be used again....

I know brother, wasp is faster, but when you're being chased by a wasp(for example while capturing a flag), hornet has the best chance of shaking an opponent off, with the exception of wasp vs wasp(I've never considered that face off and I'm not sure how it will turn out). It's not always that you can get rid of a wasp, but you can if you know the map well enough. Of course, other option is to use a speed boost, but even the enemy can do the same too, so knowing the map will matter most in the end to escape.

I will agree on the fact that Athena has quite a point. Very few use the shaft in a decent manner, and the remaining children just use it because it's actually powerful enough to take most tanks in a single shot. The shaft is not given enough respect by many who use it, and is just used to get easy kills.

I love the turret mainly because I enjoy competition against other shafts and railguns, specially against those with a hunter or viking hull (with the obvious exception of drugging). The laser update has made me love it all the more, because not only do I have to think fast about decisions, but I also have to figure out how to get that laser away from being pointed at me, to give me time to make my move.

how I started Gotta admit...

True man, same here. But then I understood the value of shaft as I got to higher ranks. The fact that an enemy shaft or 2 would always be haunting me or my team in a game made me learn a lot, so I had to change tactics and learn to overcome the difficulty. In the end, I see myself trying to dominate the other enemy shafters while also helping my team.

Got into a DM with a viking hunter on highways map just now. Initially I was using freeze and trying to understand using a different turret instead of the shaft. He came in and I decided to fight with a freeze to see how good I was. The guy kept using the supply drops around and I was trying to get around him without any supplies (experimenting). Switched to shaft later and still found it hard because he kept getting back to full health with the supply drops(I was too, but mostly one, sometimes 2 at a time. This guy was on all three for most of the game). By the time I decided to do the same as him, the game was nearly over.

He ended up being nearly unstoppable. I seemed like a noob. Still, learnt a little from that, but frustrating it was:/
