True man, same here. But then I understood the value of shaft as I got to higher ranks. The fact that an enemy shaft or 2 would always be haunting me or my team in a game made me learn a lot, so I had to change tactics and learn to overcome the difficulty. In the end, I see myself trying to dominate the other enemy shafters while also helping my team.

Got into a DM with a viking hunter on highways map just now. Initially I was using freeze and trying to understand using a different turret instead of the shaft. He came in and I decided to fight with a freeze to see how good I was. The guy kept using the supply drops around and I was trying to get around him without any supplies (experimenting). Switched to shaft later and still found it hard because he kept getting back to full health with the supply drops(I was too, but mostly one, sometimes 2 at a time. This guy was on all three for most of the game). By the time I decided to do the same as him, the game was nearly over.

He ended up being nearly unstoppable. I seemed like a noob. Still, learnt a little from that, but frustrating it was:/

Problem is that shaft users have to look at drop points and dangerous opponents together, but others don't. So generally other gun users have an advantage of that.

Generally drop points are on middle of the map, that makes it harder. With medium targets, shaft be too hard to play. Because of that, players generally don't use shaft for lots of situation.

What is the solution? First of all, find a map with "drop camp points" and try to be around there.  Sandbox, serpuhov, camp, stadium are good examples.

Another solution is KS for  DM's. When you get experience, you will see which maps are good for KS.

When you get enough "seeing" to look at drugs and opponents, you will get enough power to survive.

You can use small shots for team games. With arcede, they can be very effective.

You ahve to fight against stronger opponents with weaker equipments, so your mission is using small sources for doing big jobs.  :)

I know brother, wasp is faster, but when you're being chased by a wasp(for example while capturing a flag), hornet has the best chance of shaking an opponent off, with the exception of wasp vs wasp(I've never considered that face off and I'm not sure how it will turn out). It's not always that you can get rid of a wasp, but you can if you know the map well enough. Of course, other option is to use a speed boost, but even the enemy can do the same too, so knowing the map will matter most in the end to escape.

I have never let a Hornet escape me, just sayin ;)

I like to use my Shaft M1 over Rail M2 at the moment because of the sheer amount of Viking + Prodigi's out there. Even when I play with people at my rank, they have Tundra. Shaft M1 with double power kills Viking M3 Prodigi most of the time, provided that the Viking isn't fully MU'ed. Rail M2 with double power doesn't have that effect cos of the Prodigi. I think Shaft is still a great weapon especially with the new points system that has come in.

Well, I knew the map well enough as well the drop zones. My aim was to take him out almost without using supplies(except the speed boost, and in few cases the double power and armor separately). The fact that he was using dropped supplies more often was what got me into trouble, because I wasn't. And yes, I was pretty weak against him and I was trying to learn to find a solution to everything without supplies and also with a weapon I wasn't fully familiar with, till I took out the shaft, which was too late(not to mention I'm not upgrading anything till a sale comes up so that cripples my tank against stronger ones. For now I'm just at m1 hornet shaft)

Brother, stick to the rail more often if you've been using it before. Maybe you won't take out bad guys in a single shot, but you also can't let them change your choice of weapon. If you've used the rail more often than the shaft in previous times, keep it as your main weapon because you'll soon learn to overcome your worst enemies.

Switching to using the shaft more often may not be good for a railgunner like you, I feel:)

For those talking about shaft being too powerful and for noobs and stuff, I think they should now take a look at hammer. Way too annoying and it's going to stay that way even without the paint. Hammer now has the top position for most OP turret

please no. Hammer will be greatly nerfed when the protection paints are introduced just like every turret in the game. shaft is and always will be for noobs. At least when using hammer you will be improving your skills in the long run, while using shaft will.......nvm I went through this point so many times already :D

All in all it's really simple. Shaft is good for nothing , bad for everything kinda turret. Keep using it and enjoy self destructing your skills.

Like any noob with a railgun can score a one-hit kill. Rant on dumies, rant on, and I'll see you in my sights...

Using my shaft skills, I prevented a 17-16 win from becoming a 17-32 massacre. And yet every noob on the team wants to walk in the tiny space between my hull and the edge. < :-P  They are, as I said, in a hurry to die a second sooner. When the hordes come marching through, they say, "Didn't we have the bridge covered?" Yeah, until you moved me from my spot where I could pot anybody...

Yeah sure... A railgun cant one-shot anything apart from wasp without rail protection but I'm totally sure 95% or higher amount of rail gunners are more skilled than you in this game. I'm not ranting lol. I'm just trying to help you newbs choose the correct path for a better future at tanki.

This is Tanki. There is no right or wrong. If I like and want to use Isida-Mammoth on Massacre, I can use Isida-Mammoth on Massacre. Sure, it may not be as effective, but at the end of the day it's what you get out of the game that matters. If somebody loves using Shaft, who are you to say "you're not supposed to enjoy the game that way"?

Live and let live. You like Railgun and Thunder, right? Feel free to steer people towards Railgun and Thunder. I don't have any problem with that. If you'll let us Shafters do the same with Shaft, we'll have no problems and no disagreements.  :)

Let's  go .-.

Lemme get M2 Wasp first tho D:

Haha, would love to. Only problem is I'm pretty busy to do a one on one with anyone till the end of this month. But you have a deal. PM me when your ready to talk;)

Just realised, once you get that wasp m2, I'm no longer going to be underestimating your tank, because it's stronger than my m1 hornet. Doesn't bother me, but I'm just saying:P

yeah I agree with you on the fact that everyone can use the turret he/she loves. Its the exact same thing i told to dark shado. Did I at any point tell/suggest anyone to use any other turret? I'm "stating" my opinion on this noobly turret.
