Can't the same be said about Railgun? Your point about the Shaft and the Rico is pure exaggeration.

This is clearly blind hatred against Shaft users!

A little less chat and a little more action and she might get past WO.

Some people do, some people talk...sooner or later everyone ignores the talkers.

In fact, the only time I see those posts is when someone else quotes them. (press "ignore" for ignorance)

You have no idea how many high alts she has. I assure you, she is quite skilled.

I think that the shaft does take skill but the fact that there is very little movement with it means that there is less skill needed. i think that it is good for low level gameplay but needs to be buffed for higher levels :D

you dont know how wrong you are,

youve just seen mammoth campers right? :)

the same with shaft hunter too :D

How about no.

i think shaft is kinda a noob weapon

it takes little to no skill to use

Stick Shaft on a light hull, run into enemy territory, and quick-snipe. Let me know how easy it is for you.

Shaft isn't meant to be an assault weopon. 'Nuff said.

like you know everything

im just saying sniping with shaft takes no skill

Did I ever say I know everything? No, I just know that in more cases than you might be able to imagine, Shaft actually takes a lot of skill to use effectively.

I heard you say it the first time, and I was just proving you wrong. Dude, you wouldn't BELIEVE how difficult it can be sometimes.

Sniping with Shaft on a basic level is easy, but once you get to the medium ranks, you have to really know what you're doing in order to survive. At my rank, most people know anti-Shaft tactics pretty well, so you have to step up your game in order to be effective.

Nice to know someone agrees with me... And I also have first-hand experience at knowing how hard it is to hit a hornet or wasp. Not because i tried and failed...People are sometimes focused on other people...But because in my alt I can easily outrun the laser even at smoky range (m0 of course) with my hornet.

not really hard to hit them wasps and hornets, specially with the faster turning speed :)

I usually dont have that much of problems with lights speeding across, but with the slower ones cause Ive gotten to hit fasts and slows some times overcome me

Once I start dominating the battlefield, the whole enemy team stops aiming for the flag and just basically gangs up on me. Even when I', camping, I have to hear even the slightest engine noise so that I can detect enemy tankers who are trying to get me.

It's really intense when that happens. Good think I still have about 2k mines, they're my best friend (aside from Isidas)

That's why shaft is hard.

This ia true for all guns, but the most important for shaft.

Too true that!

Today I accidentaly stepped into battle with an m0 railgun. Turns out, although I missed a few shots, I was still capable of threatening the enemy. I don't see how shaft has affected my ability on other turrets that much(Okay, maybe a wee bit, but it's pretty insignificant).

Here's a bunch of reasons why I prefer using shaft:

1. Stealth, my favorite element in battle and my number one reason.

2. Competition against other rails and shafts. Some railgunners know their weapon well and will pop out  at that instant when it fires, so you have to be quick to neutralise them. As for shafts, there are times when they're aiming while you reload behind cover. Dodging lasers is one thing, and there are times when you have to throw them off aim when they have aimed at  you first, or you're done.

3. Hitting moving targets before they're completely in cover, for example a tank that has almost run behind a building but there's that little bit of it that you can still shoot which should be done while your turret is constantly turning to keep its aim, and that needs an instantaneous reaction. It's something I'm not consistent with still.

4. Every hit counts, specially in CTF, and it makes a massive difference in helping your team win flags by covering flag carriers, or by taking down flag attackers

5. When you become a major nuisance, like stinger said, you're placing a bounty on your turret(in other words, your head. Okay, lame joke). And that's when it gets more fun. Not to mention there's the part where they start calling you a noob because you show them no mercy

6. The laser update. The laser really intensifies the shooting competition between shafts and rails and must be hidden well enough to trap enemy tanks

First advice

Don't read Athena369's posts

I do that

Maybe noobs find it hard to bear the truth I presume....

It might not be its intended purpose, sure, but it often works pretty well. If it's stupid, but it works, it's not stupid.

As a matter of fact it IS stupid. It gets 100x more stupid when you surpass the ranks around brigadier where such a run with shaft won't get you anything but a very NICE D/L (something around 0.01 ). This is exactly why I mentioned earlier that such shafters will go extinct at higher ranks because unlike the gameplay is certainly at 2 different levels in both of the ranks. Where in smaller ranks you can almost do anything you wish with beginners who can't even turn their turrets/lack skills. Also why in the world would one want to go attack with shaft? When there are so many other turrets better suited for the same job? It's like attacking With elephant/freeze in a large map. That's why it can simply be called stupidity.

True shaft might take some skill to be used effectively, but you should keep in mind that the skill ceiling for it is really really low.
