When the mouse controls come out, I'll probably enable it for Shaft.

Yeah definitely, there's way more accuracy with mouse controls.

But you won't be able to move the scope at fullspeed instantly; it takes some time.

Atleast that's what happened in the test server.

Athena369 no offense but its hard to take a warrant officer 1 seriously

it seems like you post about things you don't even know much about

Some possibilities

1. He/she doesn't have any other better account.

2. He/she got banned from forum forever(possible reasons are clear)

3. He/she doesn't want to be banned.

All of these reasons are enough to ignore him/her.

About mouse, it will be just good for small fixes to aim, nothing more for shaft. Mouse doesn't aim quickly because of relatively low accerelation.

I really dislike this turret. At this rank, very few people know how to turn their turret (I do! Well, that's because I used to have another account, until it got hacked. It was a Capitan.) but it gets even worse with Shaft. It really involves nearly zero skill, if any at all.

There's another problem with Shaft that also goes unnoticed. I call it "The Problem".

What is the problem? Well, since M0 Shaft has farily good stats (and M1 Shaft too!) people tend to buy it.

They stop using every weapon and just use Shaft. It doesn't even matter anymore. The "Shafter" usually doesn't learn how to turn his turret, and since everyone runs in a straight line until about Warrent Officer 1, you can see how easy it is to aim and massacre the enemy.

However, past Warrent Officer 5, the game changes. Players no longer are easy targets. No, skilled players start to emerge and make their mark. They don't drive in straight lines and they trick the enemy. The Shafter, not being able to turn his turret, simply won't be able to kill this player. He misses the 1st shot, when he jukes the shaft and tricks him. He then fires a shot at him and connects. The shaft is now damaged.

In Arcade Mode, it isn't even fair. Players don't learn how to turn to turret, so they usually miss every arcade shot they take, and certainly less than a Shafter who can turn their turrets.

However, I have no problem with skilled shafters that can use normal skills in battle (turning their turret, etc.) but the lack of that at this rank is astonishing.

Luckily, being very skilled at this rank (since I was a Capitan), I find it quite easy to dodge them with my Hornet or Wasp, and take them out with my Railgun or Smoky.

Signing out,

They're newbies, what did you expect? Also, Shaft  is for people who want to get a clean 1-shot kill.

Shaft is a sniper turret and may I request that the laser beam should not be visible by the opponents.

That would give too much advantage to shafts, and eventually we would have too many noob gizmo shafts running around. Besides there are many easy ways(with practice) to hide your laser already

=====================================================

Shaft Tactics-

Off-aim the laser from target areas while observing them, So your laser is hitting something a-lot closer to you but you are watching something further away. ie- point at a tree /wall or building closer to you while watching some area 100-200m behind-to the side of them.

Another way is to simply sight toward the ground in front of the areas you want to observe. You can  point the laser at the ground 100m+ in front of where you intend to shoot (or maybe even right in front of your own tank), and a quick/short sight move up will bring you on target.

This method is good for open maps. And with a little hill/rise in front of you, you can be virtually invisible this way.

Both ways, no enemy driving through or about to drive through your shooting area, will know you are watching AND WAITING, with a full-charge shot.

These methods also minimize any enemy back-tracking your laser to your position/hide.The less distance a laser is visible the better.

Also use  these tactics if you see a "sitting-duck" out there and don't want to spook them before your shot charges. Off-aim or short-aim, so they don't see their impending death.

These tactics work well against enemy shafts, while doing counter-shaft work.

Hear hear, I second this, though I do not agree with the laser period, but if we have them and they are there, this is the way to go, especially with the sitting duck.  Even I'm guilty of "charging on target" and regretting it sometimes (I get excited, sitting ducks are just too much fun to NOT knock out if the game is already in your teams favor)

And this is a good thing.  Being the sword that cuts off the head of the monster is important.  An otherwise impossible save of a flag is now completely within reach when the enemy is now without the powerhouse unit it expected to use to complete the task, be it the big armored beast that goes in and softens up, and or wipes out the defenders, or the oh so fast flag runner, picking apart the strength of the enemy drive leaves the rest of the team space to mop up.

Still weak, and absolutely useless for score-gaining, which is actually the main thing to do in battles.

But I guess it's pretty nice to 1-shot Wasp/Hornets for 40-65% of the time.

Playing with Shaft is pretty exciting though, a totally different way of playing.

Shaft is my 3rd favorite turret  I mean come on, who can't resist making people angry and getting 1-shot kills? :P

If I had a dollar for everytime I got someone mad by my Shafting, I'd probably have a Bentley right now. XD
