We should really FORCE everyone to play with Shaft just for a day, so they can see what they're doing to their teammates.

Well, not just Shaft but EVERY other tank: to get where they want to go, just shove other tanks out of the way. Don't bother politely going around so that I can *save your butt* from getting killed.

With Shaft, it is the most important on any weapon. For every time an enemy has knocked off my aim, there are a half dozen when some rushing teammate spoils a shot that took more than a minute to set up, just so he can get where he's going (and get stupidly killed) a half-second sooner.

ALSO, Shafts and railgunners playing Monte Carlo:

please leave some space behind the flag so that after I set a mine, I can retire rather than get killed and waste it.

There's room for three there if you don't hog it.

I only push shafts if they're blocking a bottleneck entrance/egress, and even so I tap them slightly. Oh wait, i forgot this is one of the few games where the community is less mature than me.

Camp spots and some roads are the same, what can we do? Just press "A" or "D" for a short time.

Shafters make mistake about blocking road, also... But we should deal with us.

And then I got one of the funniest PM s in my tanki career :D

Oh my, I'm dying! I'm saving this. XD

Back on topic, I just love it when a drugger uses first aid and then gets one-shotted or gets a huge chunk of life taken away. I usually see a few asterisks in the chat after that.

So I've been rather dormant at the forums since I'm pretty busy now and I decided to check out the shaft discussion, and it keeps getting interesting I must say. And then I see this

Athena, that's the spirit! Good way of handling such immaturity.

I do agree with shaft being so easy to aim now with no more shaking, which stinks in a way, but I do favour the laser because it sort of gives us newer ways of adapting to the game, which I find is a good thing

bud a sniper is meant to be unknown until it is to late, its meant to be a stealth kill and the lazer messes that up to every degree

Railgun is quite similar to Shaft with regards to high damage, unpredictability, and considerable impact force. It is very annoying getting ambushed by a Railgun, and even more annoying when one of them flips you over and says 'hhhhhhhhhh' in return.

Why not give Railgun a 'laser'?

Ok, so, I read this and I can't help it.

We don't necessarily see eye to eye on tanki, but this is something else.  There must be a story here, and you HAVE TO SHARE.  This down right hilarious.  Stick a knife in your head?  The hell did you say to get someone SO bent out of shape?  I think some people need to chill, but then, some folks are good for comedic stories after the fact, such as this, so please, do share, I want know how someone got the point of wanting to shank your skull with a blade?

In that sense, you're totally right. But then again, a sniper has to adapt to his situation, irrespective of how bad it is as well, right?

Sad how freedom of speech is so disrespected wherever you are, and that too when you haven't gone too far with your words and someone wants to silence you. Disgusting!

Rail already leaves a mark or a track after shooting, which reveals the attacker's position. There is no need for laser.

Yep, ik I was just being sarcastic.

Anyway, the mark is shown *after* the shot is fired, not when aiming. You may never know when a Railgun might be targeting you, unlike Shaft in its current state.

I guess Shaft has partially lost one aspect that makes it worth being called a sniper turret in that case

Tanki Online: the game in which the ideal sniping weapon reveals the location it is about to fire

Definitely won't be buying M2 Shaft, until the darn laser is taken away.

Highly unlikely that that will happen my friend

I think the laser is a nice psychological weapon to cause panick attacks on the enemy, especially when he/she is caught in the open.

The technique of not being detected due to your laser is just to target enemies within your visible range. If it's too late for a one-shot kill, then just at least unload what you can to the enemy and let your arcade shots or teammates finish the work.

Also, since the laser update, camping is a lot harder and predictable, making Shaft/Mammoth/Titans much easier to track and neutralize. The solution to this is to use light/fast medium hulls like Hornet or Hunter. Move around a lot and actually search for your targets. It gives a sense of unpredictability and surprise.

Ohh absolutely, Mammoth or Titan/Shaft users are now pretty easy to find and kill. I use a medium hull though, the lighter ones are to weak for a turret like Shaft; you still need to expose yourself when you're in scope mode.

Viking is pretty good, it is stable and has a low platform.

On the other hand I see deadshots every time in Serpuhov. The main way from the center to the red base is being used very often by enemies.

They don't seem to care that there are lasers pointing at them. :P So there's no need to change between sniping positions; poop a mine behind you and you're all set.

And yes, the majority of them are light hulls, you'll play a very important role in stopping those guys from capturing.
