Arcade shot accuracy is horrid in mouse ctrl, the camera is slightly offset from the barrel's direction. However, it's pretty much the only way to go snipe so far.
Arcade shots land better in keyboard, but the scope is broken.

Haaaahhh... trade-offs. Unless someone can afford to take a few seconds switching back and forth ctrls repeatedly, Shaft split into 2 weapons...

I started using shaft arcade mode more than its sniping mode, its more practical than its sniping mode .. each arcade shot =

Yes Man - I had to do the same...

Sniping did not aim into target.

Lots of crystal and now completly usless weapon.

It is completly broken garbage now...

One friend of my which play only shaft stoped play at al.

Good work tanki...

Good news: crosshairs are back in place.

Bad news: Spinning (consistently) is now spinning (frequently).

To stop it, you have to waste time: go to sniping mode and turn in the same direction as the spin for a second, then shoot and reset.

Sniping traverse is as slow as it used to be before the previous update: slow slow slow and doesn't accelerate properly.

I think they broke the movement and fed it to the mouse.

Absolutely not, I'm thinking of making a commentary video about it.

Once you play with mouse controls as a Shaft, and got used to it; you'll love it.

I sincerely doubt that I would ever even want to try using it. If you went through what 60% of Shaft users went through,

you would forget the complimentary commentary and do an exposé of the shoddy work by the devs on the last few updates.

(most people completely forgot about that early ending fanboy fiasco)

Those are bugs you're talking about, and they are temporary.

Lol they have made a temprorary solution for this tiny temprorary problem.

It will take a long time...

While you all are busy complaining about the keyboard controls with Shaft, I'm just gonna get used to the mouse controls.

I'm getting shaft M2 on May Day. I officially withdraw any critisism of shaft.

:o

Also

Cool, the "aim moving by itself" shaft bug has been fixed :)

But I noted another issues when using shaft with keyboard controls (I disabled mouse controls from options):

1. When entering scope mode, cross hair cannot be controlled until zoom in animation has ended.

This has been reported also by other players as "sluggish controls".
Steps to reproduce:
1. Press space to enter scope mode.
2. Quickly press right arrow, before zoom in animation ends.
Expected outcome: Cross hair starts immediately to move to right.
Actual outcome: Cross hair starts to move only after zoom in animation ended.

2. Diagonal cross hair movements are not possible right after entering scope mode.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Press space to enter scope mode.
2. Quickly press up arrow and right arrow, before zoom in animation ends.
Expected outcome: Cross hair starts immediately to move in diagonal up-right direction.
Actual outcome: Cross hair starts to move (after zoom in animation ended) either up or right, but not in diagonal.
Note that this is not a keyboard controller issue, that can be verified pressing up and right arrows at the same time after zoom in animation ended, which results in correct diagonal aim movement as expected.

3. Turret rotation "stuck" just after firing.

1. Press space to enter scope mode, and wait to full charge.
2. Release space to fire.
3. Very (very) quickly press "Z" and down arrow, before zoom out animation ends.
Expected outcome: Tank start moving backwards, while rotating turret to the left.
Actual outcome: Tank start moving backwards, but turret does not rotate.

---

Problems arise when scope mode does not recognize keys pressed before zoom in animation, or when main game does not recognize keys pressed inside scope mode. But in fast paced battles, having to wait for the right moment to press control keys is really annoying... It would be nice if both game and scope acted based on actual state of keys, ignoring the timing or order of each key press.

This is from mouse control's discuss...

They are doing a sale on May Day, right? I've saved150k for M2 shaft and viking for the sale. They better not let me down.... AGAIN.

I think It'll only be 25%, but you got enough for that. M2 Viking and M2 Shaft costs 151K together in 25% Sale.

How much damage do you expect to be added to Shaft's arcade mode? lets see who gets the closest answer

and by the way shaft will be having crosshair sideway damage as well in snipe mode ! wow :o

NB: current max arcade damage = 46 - 64

My arcade damage is enough to kill a lot of Hornets with two shots. It would be nice to have it in a pinch (Isida nose-to-nose).

And this is probably just as good here as in "advanced advice" -- the ultimate camping spot for Shaft is the driveway at Rio that Red normally uses to get to the Blue Flag and Blue normally uses to get to the Red Base. Well, if a game gets completely out of hand, and Red is struggling to stop the taking of its flag...go to the Double Armor drop and shoot down the alley to Red's rear.

Advantages: Red players don't look down the alley as they try to get to their flag

Disadvantages: If a Shaft hatches at the end and sees you, or somebody decides to take a shortcut

You can also shoot anybody crossing the bridge to the Red Flag, which can include those taking your Blue flag to capture.

On successive terrible games for Red, I potted 23, 25, and 24 Red tanks as they crossed unawares.

So I didn't have to spawn kill to raise my totals.

My M3 sniping is now 223, and the arcade is just raised a bit to 39-53. I suspect they may double those numbers to 78-106, about half of the sniping value. It makes sense that it takes about half as long to fire arcade as to fire sniping.

Now lets see a comprehensive fix for the spinning bug.

I suppose you can consider anything as tiny if it doesn't affect you personally.

Now imagine that your own favorite turret just started flipping over for no reason...would that be tiny??

Its my right to want my gun with full potential

I can complain as much as I can.

I should. This helps if they read something new...

This is the real problem here.  You'll accept anything that is fed you.  "We're gonna screw with what you relied upon to be successful, here, relearn this, that, the other."  Sheeple is what folks like you are.  "I'm gonna learn how to use the mouse . . . "  Ever occur to you that maybe just because something is new doesn't make it better?  Most of the crap you buy in stores nowadays is not better than the old stuff, it's in fact WORSE, but NEW.  This is now come full circle to computing, CONSUMER COMPUTING!  We tell you what you'll buy and by gosh you'll be happy with it.  Sick of watching videos with smug faced developers in them saying how great all this is and how WE'LL be so happy with it.  I recall the excuse for mouse controls were the lame idiots who tried tanki and couldn't be bothered to read why the mouse wasn't turning the turret?  Serious?  And you want to encourage these morons to play?  Yes, this is a great idea, LETS ENCOURAGE the LOWEST COMMON DENOMINATOR of society to fill our ranks and play along side us, this will make for a far better and more interesting and engaging game play.  It's absolutely ridiculous that if someone can't fugure out how to use 7 buttons on a keyboard an entire development teams sets out to redesign a product, and in the process affect it's original functionality negatively (shafts) just for IDIOTS WHO CAN'T USE A KEYBOARD.

As always, the REAL shaft players, the thinkers, the non-drugging, non button mashing crowd will "just" complain about the state of affairs with the upgrade while you "get used to the mouse controls", who knows, maybe you can learn to use the mouse with the left hand so the other is free while you watch the weekly V-Blog too.

So disgusted with all this.
