I haven't used Shaft since the laser update.

The laser ruined Shaft.

The laser doesn't matter if you hide it. Also, the update removed the "scope wiggle" which IMO made shaft even better. If you would use shaft you would easily figure out a good place to hide your laser..

Being a shafter is the most complicated role in the game, considering all the shaft haters who call you noob in the chat. But this is a total bunch of baloney because most of the time they have short range turrets and you snipe them from a long range. Then they get mad and call you a "shaft noob". But i find that ridiculous because I have never known any shafter who calls people "firebird noob" or "freeze noob" just because they killed them at close range.

And then the part that pisses me off even more is when you are playing as shaft, and your team loses. And then this one guy, most of the time a drugger, says to the other team: "You guys are lucky you won, I could've crushed you if not for the shaft noob on my team". To this, I think Whaaaaa...

But then the stupidest part is that when I vote him, no one else votes, because targeting a "shaft noob" is their excuse for losing.

But what I am saying is that tanki online has built itself into a pyramid, and put shafters at the bottom. And then they put rail at the top. Just because shaft has a history of being the most OP turret in the game doesn't mean it still is. Especially after the rebalance.

I just hate the fact that in the eyes of most tankers, a shaft is nothing but an annoyance. Until they call them a "shaft noob" for simply killing them and things get dirty in the chat. You know what I am talking about.

But to all shafters, my message is to just ignore the people who give you garbage in the chat. They are just pissed you can kill them, and they can't! ;)  :)

Shaft is noob turret pros use rail only kids use shaft.

Jk.

I think shaft is just fricking OP...

I really appreciate having an M3 shaft on my team because it can turn the entire game around.

Once i was in a serpuhov CTF and we were losing 3-9.

It was to 10 flags and we had 10 mins left.

a rail on our team switched to M3 shaft and we won 10-9 just because of that one shaft...

I really respect shafts because they are OP, and you have to aim vertically as well as horizontally, so it takes more skill as well, and then there is the laser, zoom time, etc.

So I think shaft is possibly the hardest turret to use, so I have a lot of respect for people who can use it well.

Yep, the shaft hate is HUGE. There are reasons tho, many people have no idea what they are doing with shaft, i don't blame them, it's a weard turret. I constantly mess up, even after alot of practice. Pretty much any noob can get results with twins or fire, if he wonders in the right map.

I think you shouldn't ignore being called out by your team, you should try think about the battles dynamics, and if you changing would turn them in your favour, afterall shaft doesn't suit many kinds of team setups as well as smoky or isida for example.

Being called out by your enemy is usually just them raging, i guess that isn't worthy of attention.

I got respect for everyone still playing shaft, expesially with the arrow keys, and a lighter hull than titan, imo everyone should respect them; they still strive to use it after all the nerfs, instead of getting some easyer turret and forgetting shaft, like most.

Get used to it. You gotta bock out the noise and play. Trust me, no one likes you, but they will respect and fear you if you stick to just being good at what you do. Those loud jerks, try this on them. A team with izzies will always tell you if you're appreciated. Defend the flag, and if you hold it down 2 or 3 times, the izzies will flock around you, and that's when the team is obviously taking care of you, and not the blow hard yapping their gullet at you. If one starts following you. Then you're really good, you are really impacting the battle.

Regardless though, look at your K\D, your score per game, you'll know how good you really are.

I will endlessly like this post if I could.

The laser update killed my shaft career but I have not lost my respect for all shatters and their ability to make it work.

Or Monte Carlo! Those were the days.

Monte Carlo is still a Shaft fest (with a few Railguns too) The objective of Monte Carlo CTFs these days seems to be to get a few Shafts on the upper levels before your opponents can and then shut down all their efforts completely. Now that I think about it, the same goes for Stadium, although the problem is probably even worse since you can't really attack the flag carriers without exposing yourself, not to mention that virtually all the supply drops are in the open.

It's fun to play on those two maps if you're on the winning team, but it's frustrating to be on the receiving end of a Shaft/Railgun army- you can't even step foot outside of solid cover without getting Railgunned, sniped, or both.

I don't like Shafting there, I prefer the time-tested combo of Titan-Railgun. It's been what I've played most recently, and I know every little trick and angle there is to the map.

Ahhh shaft in stadium... So op that you could get top spot in a DM battle.. Along with the amazing ability, like you said, to completely eliminate any hope of moving out in the open. Lol

Well, for those who might be looking for an edge, this isn't rocket science, but, might be worth mentioning as the little things always seem to make such a huge difference.

Just got a new machine, a MSI gaming laptop, and let me tell you, last night, for the first time, I took first place in perhaps 10 matches of like 12 to 15 that I played (recall I don't play with paints, and I don't drug).  Shaft is so touchy with lag since we don't get auto aim benefits.  Let me tell you, bad to the bone graphics card and some serious processor power goes a LONG WAY in shoring up connection deficiencies when playing and I saw lag like twice this time in the whole time I played, amazing.

The Flash image rendering was flawless and smooth and again, no choppiness or issues with it locking up, JUST FAST, everything, and when your trying to make those "just barely" shots, it makes a huge difference.

So, my simple minded two cents, if you you need some edge in shaft and you're looking to buy a machine, put the money into it, might save all the druggers out there some money in the long run, and hell, you might even stop drugging (we can all dream right?).

^Don't be this guy gentlemen^

Well, snipers ARE made to sit afar bringing high damage per shot to any unlucky foe within it's sights. Shaft was never meant to be a direct-confrontation turret.

Then at the end of the game, you are the leader in points!.

This is actually one of the hardest thing to do as a Shafter, actually.

coward snipers: Get you a turret, any turret, and go fight the enemy.

So what are we supposed to do? Mindlessly rush the enemy base and get killed in the process whilst accomplishing nothing? Yea right...
