Less energy - which means faster reload in between shots.

So is the shaft buffed from this change or debuffed? Looking at the wiki, it says that red values mean that the parameter has worsened. But from what you said, it appears as the shaft is getting less reload time from the update. Thanks in advance for answering. :)

Sniper Mode was nerfed. However, it looks like the arcade shots have a single constant value (no minimum or maximum damage).

So my M1 50/50 with DD will be a shade off of 100 HP per shot every time it hits. It would be 49.7 HP/shot without help.

You can't do 49.7 with M1 in arcade mode -.-

Its a dead horse, but, I still really dislike /hate the laser. They could change it anyway they want as far as I care, if they would just get rid of the laser. Oh well.

Shaft isn't the only turret with this problem.

I 'm affraid it is. I use other weapons too, but it happens only in shaft. Going in target mode (in fact no other weapon has target mode) the cannon goes out of control upwards to the sky. You can control it finally but losing VERY important seconds. In some other cases the cannon does not go downwards unless you press the up arrow in the keyboard for a while and then down (which is your wish). I have been killed in that way quite a few times. No other weapon has these troubles (I have tested it). On the other hand no other weapon has to be controled in the up-down axis. The problem with the turning turret is quite usual of course in all weapons but this is not my case. I would please the designers to take my note as a trouble report rather than a complaint. I still love shaft though. I might not play tanki without it.

Lately, I have noticed that shaft turret lags in a quite strange way. First of all, in some cases the turret spins without the user pressing anything and you have to press the right or left button following the spin. The button depends on the spin (i.e. if it lags clockwisely, you have to press right button for a moment and then to press any other button you need to aim). Similarly, it lags upwards (just after stop running to aim, by pressing space bar you go to target mode but the turret goes to the sky). In this case you have to press the upper button for a while (i.e. to follow the move of the turret) and then any other button to control the shot. Loosing fatal time in this way, I have been killed many times the last few days. Has anybody else noticed it?

You are right.

I have a lower account devoted to playing shaft. There are two glitches that are both very common, and have been around for quite a while.

The first glitch is that when entering snipe mode, the turret will automatically move in a certain direction. For me it's usually straight up, sometimes straight down; I don't seem to experience a sideways move. The only way to deal with this--and it wastes precious seconds, during which I've been killed many times--is to move the turret in the direction it's already moving. That frees it up to be able to move it back in the other direction and put it where it should have been in the first place. Very, very frustrating.

The other glitch that happens a lot to me is that after I take the snipe shot and exit sniping mode, my turret refuses to move right if I try to. Movement to the right is just stuck, impossible initially. Since I move my turret a lot, this is also very frustrating. The way to deal with it is to briefly move the turret left; this frees it up to then be moved right.

I sure wish the developers would fix these. Shaft does not have the time to waste, especially if you play a more mobile style.

I bet most shaft users will be very happy with upcoming update. Since it has been made faster between shots, it will be new overpowered weapon for tankers. Yes, damage has been nerfed a little, but same with hulls. Mammoth, titan, dict will be so much easier to kill :)

Update will change shaft gameplay. This "little" damage nerf means that even with m4 u can in sniper mode destroy only two m3(hornet, wasp) hulls.

So shaft basically will no longer be one shot killer.

What you talking about, it was same before, without double damage, before you could ONLY 1 hit 2 hulls, hornet and wasp. I am talking about m4s. Yea, max damage is down 40 HP, which is huge loss, but so are HP's on tanks - dict 45 hp, mammoth 50 hp. Not really sure how alternator works, but I think that would boost up damage and you basically have 100% same if not better than before rebalance.

Yes, if u are talking only about m4, then things remain about same.

But in reallity- lets say your rank is liutennant general and u decided buy shaft m3. Your opponents at same rank using mostly  m2 and m3  (viking) hulls, rank or 2 higher they beginning slowly upgrate their favorite hulls to m3+. MU Shaft about 30 steps, and u can kill in single shot  4/7 m3 hulls. Same goes about lower ranks, m1,5 etc...

After new uptate u can same way kill only 2/7 hulls- isnt that big gameplay difference?

Looking forward to the style change in Shaft. Looks like it'll be more of a rifle than an actual sniper. Let's see how this goes.

I'll miss the scope damage, but I think that overall Shaft will be more useful for mobile players like you. The ability to 1-shot light hulls will remain, and you'll still be able to full charge + arcade (something I call the 1-2 punch) medium hulls. The 1-2 punch will actually become more effective, since the arcade shots will reload almost as quickly as Thunder. Less time to run into cover, and as a whole it will take 1 second less to recharge fully.

I'm pretty sure that at long distances, arcade mode will be better than Thunder against light hulls. Consistent infinite-range 3 shot kills at a speed very close to Thunder? I'll take it. This will be highly useful for fighting on the move.

Shaft is NOT underpowered in ANY shape or form. Seriously, it has the HIGHEST damage of all the turrets. The M1 at 23/50 MU can one shot all M0 hulls, and Wasp, Hornet, Viking and Hunter hulls on M1 level. Why did I say 23/50? Well, it's where my Shaft stand on MU's and is still powerful against M2 tanks since it can one shot Wasp and Hornet M2 hulls still. M3 Wasp of course is a one shot. It's a Wasp xD

Are you sure? How many fireballs do you need to kill a wasp? How many smoky shots? How many thunder shots? Shaft can cause less damage in greater time of all of them. I have to go on sniping mode (waiting for a certain period of time) or to give small arcade shots in greater reload time of course. Why should I need so much time to cause a damage that a thunder causes with 1 or 2 simple press of space bar at almost the same distance?

This is my point (I have posted it again extensively and I do not like to repeat myself): Shaft was a one shot kill weapon because it was the most inflexible. They all discuss about its power but none about its inflexibility. Why should I use a weapon of a reload time of a shaft with the cause damage and distance of thunder? In a few words, I wouldn't cry for the lost power but I deserve a brave reduce of the reload time.

I like Shaft in TDMs and CTFs

In CTFs the flag is a particular choke point for tons of enemies, whichever flag it is(If your team is losing, shoot your own flag. If your team is winning, shoot their flag). Many flag capturers are Wasps and Hornets - all I need to do is charge 3/4 of my bar and they are dead. Simple.

In TDMs enemies just swarm over each other. Just kill them.

Personally, I'm a Shaft user.

I don't think Shaft is underpowered, as many of my enemies rarely have drugged to kill me. I'm a Mammoth too :)

Same thing here.  If your turret starts moving strangely, just press the arrow that it's moving toward, then press the other arrow.  A little annoying, nothing major.  I have another acc with shaft, it's not that bad a glitch, just a little annoying that can cost you a game-winning kill.
