Got myself the new alternator. MAN, this thing is good. Stinger, you will LOVE it. DD 1750 dmg at M4 arcade shot. Literally made for 2 hitting M4 viking/dic/hunter.

Did today about 15 Brada/Massacre DM matches, didn't lose once. Takes a little time to get use to longer arcade shot reload, but still, so worth it.

BUT, as normal to Tanki, noticed 2 new issues when using it.

First and smaller - game kind of froze 4 times, never ever had issue like(this was full of players game):

http://screencast.com/t/IoVtvkNzo8

Next game, same thing, can't see stats, luckily, restart helps.

Second and bigger - I got called a cheater today. Not because I won but because randomly my titan started ''dancing in air''. Driving/scoping/standing, didn't matter when, my tank just start jumping and spinning out of nowhere. It jumped that hard that I got flipped while standing still. When it happened first 3 times, I figured, it's just a lag or something. But forth time, one guy asked if I use cheat engine as he was laughing like crazy. It happened every 5 minutes aprx, sometimes softer, that it just kicked off my aim, but most of the time I just got flipped. This takes place only for 3-4 seconds, but still, annoying.

Shaft is the most simple and stupid gun in game. Killing this gun can even sitting on the toilet, as a two-year child. Shaft, however, is the gun for two-year children who can not shoot with the other guns. If you play with the shaft - you noob with claws instead of hands. Terrible gun, which must be removed from the game.

Half of this was gramatically incorrect, but I get the gist of it. You hate shaft and wish it was removed. You also hate the people who use it. Well, good luck to you m8 cuz that's not happening anytime soon. Even in the unlikely event the devs decided to remove shaft, they would have to refund all the crystals spent on shafts and their MUs/Alterations, and they also have to refund the right amount of crystals to people who bought it before the rebalance of 2012. They also have to refund the right amount of crystals to people who bought shaft related stuff during discounts. There is no way the devs will spend so much work taking away from the game.

Actually you'll find at the higher ranks that it takes lots of skill to use effectively and is in fact one of the most complex turrets in the game.

Of course at your rank it's easy because the noobs there don't know what the laser does and have no idea how to counter Shafts at all.

Shaft is quite OP at the lower ranks since people don't know how to avoid or fight it yet. At the highest ranks it becomes quite weak in most maps.

Don't forget the higher level protection modules offered at high ranks

You, Captain, something tells me about ranks?

Shaft nowhere requires the skills of the game.

In fact this is my 5th account and 5th year here- so I'm not really a "captain" either.

Oh yes it does. I'm starting to wonder if you've ever used Shaft against good players.

Playing with both Hammer and Shaft, turrets that are near opposite of each other, I can say that your claim have no basis whatsoever and is merely your outlet of frustration after being utterly defeated by said turret. :)

One picture is not "proof" that Shaft does not require skill. I could do the same to Railgun or Isida and it would still hold no point.

Shaft is quite OP,but to be honest tho it's not really unkillable,if a smoky throws off your aim,DED,if a isida/freeze/fire sneaks up on you? DED! If a rail starts attacking you out of nowhere? DED!,to balance it out though, shaft has its high damage per shot with and emergency arcade shot to survive in close range, also it has slow reload to balance The high damage out,if your the guy who goes in and plants traps and kills everybody in a spray of bullets? Use smoky twins Vulcan or anything suitable for close range,if you use shaft? Good luck trying to snipe at point blank, to use shaft, you need your own skills, sharp eyesight, knowing when danger is right at your doorstep, good reflexes, good camoflouage abilities to avoid detection,so your point is invalid captain_rex,in the hands of a good sniper like me and stinger and some other guys here, you will always be the hero, also in one of my latest battles on Monte Carlo I got 15 deaths and 88 kills, that's all I have to say.

Good hunting. To be fair, I was camping and a lot of my kills came from lower ranked players, so it's not quite as impressive as it seems. My D/L in typical battles around my rank is usually around 2.1-2.5.

I've recently gotten a new laptop and it plays much smoother than my old one, which is good for sniping since I don't get any untimely FPS drops. Unfortunately, the external keyboard I'm using has some pretty bad issues with ghosting, which impedes my sniping a bit.

>Dictator-Shaft

Please get a better hull like Viking as soon as possible, 'cuz if you want something which is a lot stealthier, has better speed, and the same health, might as well get that.

mammoth and Viking are best for shaft,Viking is the mobile sniper while mammoth is a sniper who sits in one place with camo and changes position when enemies know your spot,I'm more of a mammoth shaft, but trust me,many here may think theres no point listening to me since I'm a low ranker, but I was here since the open beta,I quit in around 2012 I think? And rejoined in 2016,my account was wiped due to inactivity,so don't think my advice is horrible and ignore it,proof I was here since beta? Well, firebirds fire was blue and shaft cost 800 cry,oh,and also railgun was called fear machine, don't believe me? Check vids and the topic in the forum called "the complete history of tanki online",also twins fired WAY faster.anyway back to the topic, shaft is like I said good on mammoth and Viking, the only problem with mammoth is its huge size, while Viking has a very flat and small size, anyway, when I come to the right rank,I hope to get needle,I'm gonna fire from the bushes

Because of the rebalance, Viking now spins like a pinwheel when hit on the corner, easily throwing off your aim.

I'm planning on getting M3 Hunter as soon as I rank up and can afford it. I sometimes use Dictator-Shaft because it's highly stable (especially important if I'm using Heavy Capacitors) despite its large hitbox and provides a height advantage. Hornet-Shaft is still my go-to these days since I like to play as sort of a scout sniper.

Hornet-Shaft seems to be extremely vulnerable to other Shafts (I'm not talking about stability as a "scout sniper" would only fire at non-threatening targets). Do you equip Shaft protection with it?

If you're using "Heavy Capacitors", you're better off sticking with Titan M3. Also, scout-snipers don't really work up here in my rank anymore.

i got a m0 shaft, but i still lead almost every round in kills.

For all the people saying it's for noobs, bring it any time any place and i'll take you down before you can blink.

Yes. I almost always equip Shaft protection, but I make sure to equip either Griffon T-A or the legacy Jade module when using Hornet. Getting Railgunned or Shafted in the middle of a nice sniping spree is a killjoy. I usually stay out of the way of enemy Shafts, and if I have to engage, I try to shoot first and then retreat.

Heavy hulls are too slow for my tastes. Heavy Capacitors has worked well for me so far, so I don't think I'll be making the switch to Titan anytime soon. I have noticed that Hornet-Shaft has gotten more difficult as the ranks go by, so I'm planning on mostly using Hunter-Shaft in the future.

Light hulls with shaft is just a waste. You need some armor to survive being a sitting duck.

Well, it is not the easiest thing, but shaft does not have to be a sitting duck. Never sit in the same position, avoid 1 vs 1 battles, use many arcade and quick shots, be where your teamates need you and never use this combo in DM mode. These are my lessons playing precisely in this way.

Those who are using the alterations what are they like both of them over the default setup, pros and cons?

Any explanation would be greatly appreciated.

Both alts make Shafting much slower but also hit harder.

Do you want to be that camper that lays 500 mines around his space in his comfy Mammoth? Get both alts, otherwise you're better off with base Shaft.

I'm a combat sniper so I move around alot with hornet, I was wondering if heavy capacitors could be a good alternative?
