I think shaft is a swag turret and I may get m2 but I have a question!!!!! Is assault emmitters worth? Because my plan is just to do arcade shots at long range.

Assault emitters is totally worth the cost. One thing to take note that it does not only increase arcade damage, but minimum damage as a whole. This means that a half-charge with the alt will do more damage than without it. This can be useful if you're planning to whittle down the HP of enemies you can't one-shot.

Works for me.  :)

I was so happy when they implemented it as an alteration.

it's good when your anemy plays peek a boo in non drug wars with alterations turned on but not in space mode. which are very rare. lower fire rate means you interupt your enemy's repair later and also you get lesser chances to knock off your enemy's aim; the impact from arcade shots might be close to nothing but they can be quite potent in space mode. and even in non drug non space battles on good maps it is only slightly better at certain times, if your enemy plays peek a boo i think it'd be better to get a distance and use your scope.

 

It was worth it before repair kit update but not anymore now, the 25% damage boost is nothing compared to the health i could have stopped them from healing had i hit them sooner

Agreed. Its only useful on the test server, where each bit of damage matters. At least, it was. Im not sure how the RK update will affect TSP format, im worried that i cant annihilate everyone anymore.

You can kill off the "honorable" players. But the druggers require DD. All is fair when supplies are turned ON for both sides, right?

DD is all a Shaft really needs to dominate. I get about 4-8 kills for the duration of my 30 second double damage, then get myself killed to get it instantly back. D/L is for skrubs, I'm after kills. :3

Shaft can be unstopable with OD. I use to play shaft a lot in lower ranks because it dominated. Now that im facing better oppoents its harder to use shaft. I now use smoky

You shouldn't give up. Just because it is harder doesn't mean it's bad. You just have to start with being more selective with maps and layouts.

I agree but I just couldn't just play shaft. After a while it gets boring and it just countered by smoky and thunder.

When did TSP format become "honorable" players vs druggers? TSP is drug drug durg! Lay a brick on all 5 keys, nobody is going to stop you.

I agree but I just couldn't just play shaft. After a while it gets boring and it just countered by smoky and thunder.

I would suggest Griffon T-D (Smoky, Rail, Thunder). Yeah, Smoky is a bugger, but that is what it does best. Do you have the Assault Emitters alteration? It makes a hell of a difference when fighting at close range.

It isn't, but a lot of times one side will drug more than the other. TSP?

Haha, just pulling your leg. Learn to adapt and change your tactics as you face tougher opponents. It certainly feels more rewarding than just giving up too easily.

 

But if it just isn't working out, then maybe Shaft isn't the turret for you.

You might say it's pathetic but the way people play shaft is just not the way I like playing tanki anymore.

There is no "might" about it, your comment is pathetic.  Shafts have it harder than ever with the overdrive implemented.  Nerf on damage, nerf on stealth, and now nerf on scope shot followed by arcade shot to finish off an opponent with it costing them anything.  No, druggers get a wide berth in Tanki, and shafts were their NUMBER enemy.  This is was almost removed, and shafts have to work WAY TOO hard now to play, so indeed, your comment is pathetic.

lower ranks? you're talking about your higher ranked account right? I haven't played legend only battles but shaft is still very powerful in brigader to legend battles, even without overdrive.

Why do shafts have it harder with Overdrive?

 

Only thing I can think of is there are more "targets" out there with DA on for free?

 

You have to use more DD maybe, but you'll still get the kills.
