Well, shaft isn't really the kind of turret that can turn the tide of battles.

you dont know how to use it. I'm not just saying this, i really mean it. as a non druger it's quite rare when i turn the tide of regular non tdm battles  but i have done so many times in no drug battles. shaft has impact equal to that of railgun+ability to accurately hit specific parts of a tank. that's enough to greatly hinder anyone from doing anything or change their moving direction however you want it to even if your shot can't kill them.

Even if you are extremely skilled there is not much a turret like shaft can do to change a battle, speaking from the perspective of higher-ranked battles.

there are battles for field marshal to legend, those i have never been in. but my rank to legend it's still possible. it's harder in ctf and even harder in cp but still, targeting isidas or the top player on the enemy team or engaging the shaft(s) on the enemy team into a shaft duel(you'd have to win of course) should help your team a lot. but in tdm as long as you don't have brainless team mates who just run out into the open or let firebirds get into your base without resisting it's very easy.

To this point, I have to agree, and this is the nerf.  Drugs and OD now take the swift effect of a shaft and turn it into a nuisance, not a threat.  I can still effect battles, but never turn the tide as harshly as one could before.

Can the forum mods stop deleting my messages for no reason so I can actually respond to Dieselplatinum? All I want to say is that I agree with him... What in the world is wrong with that?

Apparently everything.

50.00 D/Ls are useless for me, all I really care about is getting first place in DMs while simultaneously overtaking drugging Isidas. :)

That look brutal, all Legendaries and low death counts, nothing but drugs, all the time.  That said, looks like everyone was, and the Shaft managed to kick some tail.  See that naysayers?  Be afraid, be very VERY, afraid.  (OF drugs and Shafts for that matter)

There are not very many pro shafts out there in legend. But Stinger is one of them, I been playing with him, love those poly dm's where we dominated whole battle.

^It's a shame we rarely play together these days, it'd be fun to completely destroy the battle with you sometime  ^_^

Here are some of my best battles today. Never underestimate how fast a trained Shaft can seek out eliminate choice targets. The lack of Shaft protection is also a big plus.

You almost convince me to further MU shaft

You should of experienced the golden age of shaft, where normal shot with DD and alternator did 1750 damage with in any distance! That was just brutal in any map. Pulling scores like 80-100. But it's still proper killing machine for winning mostly any map in DM.

Ontopic,

I been practising aim with mostly magnum. That turret is hell of fun in DM's, getting triple kills like it's nothing. Remember that time with shaft, I so miss it? Gameplay is similar as shaft, run - hide - shoot - kill.

Offtopic. I am very sorry mate, I was travelling like 6 months straight this year and only had my laptop with me. I could play tanki with it, but it's just stupid on 15.6 inch screen. Been back @ home for 4 weeks now, been playing probably few hours per day, but now again new start-up company will take most of my time. But I did finish gumball 3000 rally without any crash and only 4 speeding fines:

Sorry for offtopic mods, haven't chatted with Stinger for so long!

I am a shaft user and I found it suitable for me. I know there are many shaft haters but still you are lucky if you have a sniper in team which is a good support. There are disadvantages using this but side by side every weapon has advantages and disadvantages.I am not a veteran player here but after going through this forum I have found many weapons has been changed in the course.

Compared to the other turrets it has a big disadvantage. After the full scoping is done if I wish to withdraw my shot I cannot withdraw it.For example if I am targeting a long distance hull and I am being attacked by some other opponent from other direction then I have to waste my shot in the air or wall and in that time period I know I am dead before my next reload.Where in every other turrets has a choice to withdraw a fire at very last moment. If a shaft can withdraw a long shot and able to fire a nearer target with loaded power then It is more threatening for other tanks so maybe this system is like this.

For the shaft haters : "Everything is fair in love and war" . There are many anti shaft turrets I have never hated anyone as it is a part of game. You can hate a shaft but consider yourself unlucky if opponent has more than one shaft and you have none in your team. Somehow sniping is an art and to connect a good punch we need to go 2 steps backward ,so what you call a noob act I call that a gaming strategy.

Thanks to game developers for making this awesome turret. Thanks to mchen for the discussion.

You could either fire off your shot or tap <ENTER> twice and you will just go straight to reload. You should find a spot on the map where no one can get you from behind - something like playing the red side of Tribute and staying in scope mode on the straightaway.

As with life, everyone you meet will know something you don't.  :)

But either way will bring you back to reloading.

just tested, it actually worked! this is gonna be soo useful when making videos. previously everyone had to leave and create another battle after a scene because of the black shot mark i made on the wall.

Those blotches should disappear in a couple of minutes. Just too bad it doesn't stay longer so you could write with Shaft.
