Whenever I joined a battle I observe the opponents turrets and after 1 or 2 deaths I change my protection modules accordingly, whenever there's a shaft around I take my 30% shaft protection from Dirty LGC but you still will get 1 shot killed as a titan without double armor

I LOVE exploiting this way of thinking:

I'm currently at 1.6k stars, so been playing way too much past few days. And everyone does it, playing a minute and then swapping their protections accordingly, which is why I always start with hammer/shaft/striker(IMO most OP turrets currently due to their damage and my playing style) and after 1-2 deaths, I can see people swapping their protection and when there are at least 4 out 8 enemies with protections, I change my turret along with protections. This makes their garage locked and they can't change anymore and I enjoy basically protection free game. I know it's cheap and most likely annoying for other, but exploiting game mechanics without any illegal moves/cheats usually pays off.

Well, it does piss of some people:

I think that would be a an excellent idea, because the scoped damaged thing AND, dunno if anyone else has this issue, "weak damage" at range in arcade, we're talking 25, 58, etc, points of damage.  As for them listening, well, I do recall the complaints began to be loud, and something was done and it was fixed.  So I guess we need to start collecting footage and and member names.

Alright, I try to catch some clips while playing with shaft, probably won't need more than 3 with triple arcade glitch and about 3 with arcade damage scope shot. Will make proper post and share it here.

Shaft is my favorite turret, possibly ever. Many people at my rank think that Railgun M2 is the best, but once they see that it's underwhelmingly weak without alterations, they just switch to Thunder, which is even worse.

Seriously though, I have Hunter/Shaft M3 (MU), and at my rank the only thing it can't kill with one shot is Titan/Mammoth M2/3. Anything that is M2 or even M3 0/20 that is not Titan/Mammoth, I blast the hell off.

"Assault Emitters" is a great alteration for anyone who is wondering whether to buy this or not. With Double Damage, you can one shot Hornet M2's (750/1500 damage with DD on average) . Yes, you heard me right. One shot without scoping. And the incredibly fast reload time allows you to kill a couple of people in a few seconds. So walk into the enemy's base, and just goddamn spawnkill everyone. This incredibly cheap alteration makes Shaft a super viable close combat tool, and you will NOT be disappointed.

As for "Heavy Capacitors", they are good. My only concern is that it takes too long to fully scope. Combined with the Booster drone though, you can  one shot Juggernauts with a low GS. Without the drone, kinda underwhelming.

Light Capacitors shouldn't even be an alteration. That IMO is just a way of throwing away money.

Rapid-fire mode is goddamn OP. Catch any hull without DA and you can kill them within 2 seconds with a 3-burst clip with DD. Even M4 Mammoth. It's like the M16A4 in Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare - simply unstoppable. Plus, this still means you can snipe. There is virtually no downside to this alteration.

You want something that will get you stars and that isn't a p***y-ass move like Thunder? This is the way to go. Guaranteed 3.00 K/D, and even my K/D of 0.59 is gradually coming back because of one god gun - Shaft.

Speaking of glitches - anyone notice that whenever you shoot even when you're not scoped fully, it uses up ALL of your energy? Is it supposed to be this way, or not?

Useful tip - cancel a scoped shot by pressing Enter. Thank me later.

Its a new feature, TO designers clearly thought that Shaft needed 'One More Nerf'.

Definitely wrecked the turret for me. They also nerfed the assault emitters. I have started using shaft again because they did buff the short-range damage and speed of arcade shots...

It does come with the fairly significant negative of much slower reload (over 2 seconds at m4). Overall, the alt was better before the adjustment, but it is still my favorite of all of them. I am saving for the triple arcade shot on 50% discount.  With so few shaft protections, it should definitely do what you stated. Looking forward to it. Thanks for the review!!!

I am getting the triple shot Alteration at the 50% discount in a few days.

Also, considering the 50% on Drones, which one do you consider the best upgrade to support your Shaft (no, I am no buyer, but I'm sitting on 2k batteries right now).

For myself, I am tempted by the Engineer drone, I am very mobile so it's easy for me to pick up supplies, 20 to 40 secs increase in duration is big.

On the other hand, Assault looks nice too, since after every kill (one shot) you get an extension of 3 to 15 secs on all your active supplies. Once fully upgraded, that mean a free DD fully charged shot after each kill, but that would imply camping more.

Your thoughts and opinions?

Are you talking about scoped shot? If yes, then it's normal.

Welp, I always pressing enter when canceling shot.

You use the word "pathetic" in your replies more than once now.  I'm not sure you understand what that word means.

Either that - or - you are an angry person.

Going by your posts, I'd say this is your first account - as you seem to not understand a lot. At least I hope it's your first account.

And you may want to re-read the posts again - as I never said you should spend all your crystals to buy all the modules now.

You will want all the modules eventually, so spend some of your crystals. What the heck are you saving that much for?

And... since you have 3 modules at this moment - equip them.  You have no right to complain about others using modules when you have 3 modules in your garage right now.  Your choice is not to equip them.

I'm sure you'll appreciate my default module set-up is Thunder/Rail/Shaft.  <_<

"I'm sure you'll appreciate my default module set-up is Thunder/Rail/Shaft. " Really dude? Not. Fair. To. Me.

"What the heck are you saving that much for?"  Centaur kit sir when I reach to Lt. General.

"You have no right to complain about others using modules when you have 3 modules in your garage right now.  Your choice is not to equip them." Well, my low account WO1 (VocaloidDefence) only have Eagle.

@Fog: Why you did not choose to buy M3 Eagle when you are bring disadvantage to Firebird, Hammer and Isida?

You have 900k crystals but are "saving up for Centaur kit"?

Centaur kit costs 338k crystals.  So you have way more than you need.

Stop whining, buy protection modules and upgrade them.  If you refuse to upgrade your equipment you will do poorly.

That thing cost over 1.6 to 1.7 million crystals total(The kit itself cost 338k. Just me focusing on upgrading Shaft, Hornet AND Eagle module cost total over 1.3 million. And I do NOT want the Mars paint.) Oh wait.... I now have over 1 million.... oops.

So, you saying that upgrading my equipment will increase my K/D? Right now my K/D is 0.90 and that will help me? Then what modules ya want me to buy? I find nothing is my biggest threat except the turrets I use.

Listen, basically NOBODY use Thunder anymore all because of the triple modules update since it ismore convenient to customize their protection setups. ALMOST EVERYONE are spamming Grizzly modules nowadays.

Fun fact: I got the Grizzly and Falcon modules from Simoom and Tornado kits. I wish I can use my M2 Thunder without bunch of people spamming its defence.

It takes a LONG time to MU m3 equipment.  Buy modules and MU them as well.  And don't waste crystals on speed-ups.

Sitting on that many crystals because you are worried about MU-ing the kit you want to buy is crystal mis-management.

K/D?   Where in any of my posts do I mention K/D?

You can just get a hull with more health. I don't know if you know this, but light hull users tend to have a lower KD ratio than mediums and heavies.

Besides, you'll want to upgrade those modules because later some of those turrets will just decimate you if don't have decent protection against them.

Modules will definitely increase your survivability.

You will need all modules eventually.

You currently do not have Twins, Fire or Hammer.  They are OP on smaller maps. Buy those modules.

I will start with Fox module. Only one condition: I will get it via Firewall kit. So when there are bunch people spamming Eagle while on one use Fox, that's when I grab out Firebird, Hunter and Fox module.

Ok when I use Shaft and me only use Eagle..... A Firebird pops out spams Eagle, Fox and Badger..... That's when I use Fox.

Nah, Thunder still reigns supreme in the coward department. After all, they don't take risks and get up close.

Its a new feature, TO designers clearly thought that Shaft needed 'One More Nerf'.

Oh OK, why didn't they say so on the V-Log?  ;)

2 seconds is actually a lot less than you think. Trust me, you can still wreck people with this. Rapid-fire mode is amazing, although it means that you WILL waste your charges. Think of it as a secondary, like a pistol, that you can use when you're in trouble. Mix them up and you're dead and 120K less.

The Assault drone was one of my favorites. It demolishes with Shaft, but right now I'm super happy with the Driver drone. If you can pump out kills quick, you'll find yourself having Overdrive by yourself more than 3 times per 8 minutes. "Supplier" and "Camper" are also good, but "Assault" and "Driver" are powerhouses.

Are you talking about scoped shot? If yes, then it's normal.

Welp, I always pressing enter when canceling shot.

B)  good

Goddamn it guys, stop bickering like children. At this point you won't even get into a crappy Shaft clan.

Did anyone had the chance to try out the new light capacitors alteration for Shaft? It looks like that the time to charge to full damage goes down from 4 sec. to 2,5 sec. on M4. On the other hand you have -30% damage per shot and always a reload of 8 sec (like standard). Do you think it makes sense to buy it?

I have all the alts for the shaft except the rapid-fire mode which I will buy on 50% sale.

My favorite is the short band emitters even though it got nerfed somewhat at the big alterations roll out.

The light capacitors does reach full damage (obviously -30% of max) very quickly. It also gets a notable boost on speed or rotation (30%) which is a BIG plus when shooting at enemy hornets and wasps. I thought it would fit the spot of the quick snipe I used to do before they made any scoped shot drain your entire energy bar, but it does not.

What I have come to use the most is the short-band emitters. The decrease in shot speed is accompanied by 2 very important benefits:

1) Added damage for ALL arcade shots (+20%) which is fairly helpful to finish off opponents..coupled with DD it is a nice wrecking tool

2) The un-advertised bonus of +20% on your minimum scoped damage. In my opinion this is what makes this alt a must have for a shaft user (assuming you are not a camper). So your m4 shaft now cranks out 1125 on ANY scoped shot whatsoever (as quick as .5 seconds). I have found that this has made a big difference on quick shots that kill light hulls or significantly wound enemies.

Anyway, I have always loved shaft and think all the alts serve a purpose. I just don't like camping too much. So either the short-band or rapid-fire seem to be the best for me.

Hope that helps some in your decision making.

Thanks for all the details :) So it seems it doesn't convince with this quickscoping. Maybe I will get something else then. Also interesting to hear about the use of the minimum scoped damage with the other alt.

And why should they? They'll suffer from self damage if they get too close.

Exactly.

Honestly, this alteration is underwhelming. It costs a lot and it doesn't really make sense as to why someone would use it. So no, please don't buy it, unless you're going for a 100% garage.

Man, the assault emitters. They have been nerfed again and again but at my rank with M3 Shaft you one shot M2 Hornets with DD as if they were made from gingerbread. 2 shots and it takes out mediums, and 3 it takes out anything else. Overpowered as hell.

Hold up, I have never seen the bonus in the scope shot. Can you tell me when and how to get it?
