Viking-Shaft is a pretty good combo from what I've seen. Low profile, decent speed, and good health.

I'm more of a Hunter-Shaft person, since it's better for offensive Shafting. I intend on getting Dirty and M1 Hunter soon; M1 Hunter/M1 Shaft + a good paint is extremely deadly, even against M2s.

As an experienced shaft user, I would go with viking shaft and your choice of paint. Personally, I use corrosion since it has decent protection from the most common long range weapons. I do sometimes switch to dirty if there are an obscene number of shafts on the enemy team.

From experience I've learned that shaft plus viking is a deadly combo.

Of course this is all just my opinion and personal experience. The hull you use is up to you, and I think penguin has a good point.

If you want to be a bit more mobile, hunter would be better. However if you just want to sit in one spot and snipe, go with viking. Personally I prefer the latter, but the choice is up to you. As long as you do your job well and turn anything in your line of fire into a burning pile of ash.

I haven't had time to test my new Dirty out in combat against Shafts yet. Maybe tomorrow. I'm hoping to get M1 Hunter on Halloween, so I can get the perfect medium-light sniper combo.

Shaft is a very personalized weapon, I guess. When choosing something to mount on it, there is no right or wrong.

Your right about there is no right or wrong.

Some prefer a fast hit and run shaft, while others like heavier hulls that can't be counter-sniped in one shot.

I used hornet and shaft for a while. I forget why I switched to viking, but I never went back. I guess I just liked having a massive D/L

I've been using Hornet and Shaft for nearly half a year now. I first discovered that combo in a the test server. Even though back then, when every shot completely drained the power bar, I instantly fell in love with it, because of it's ability to one-hit Hornets (and it's growing popularity) and hit-and-run ability. And even to this day, I'm still using it, although not as often since I already have Titan M2.

Corrosion is pretty good.

I've used it for a while now.

Prodigi is also pretty good.

The question is, do you want more shaft or thunder protection?
