Well it all depends on where you are. If you look at Dark.shado's position on the screenshot, that's a pretty good spot for cover. Of course, whoever's got a railgun or shaft will be more and more desperate to get you off that area the longer you stay, because of he nuisance you become. You'll have a few of them who will wait for some 30 seconds max and realise they got something in front of them to deal with and get distracted, and that's when you take your chance.

 

Basically, you got to be so patient that those enemy railgun and shaft users will probably want to hammer their keyboards because they cant stop you. Helps your team too in a way :D

hey, I just flipped an enemy to make a bridge and  went on there before anyone even saw me :P

 

there was just 1 realy annoying Rico(see him in the pic) and the others werent :P   some people wanted to parkour up and killed me

that they died before reaching the top :P

Shaft is good for two things: potshots and one-shot,one-kill guarding a flag in the open (e.g. Berlin). But too many games become static as each side waits for somebody to cross no-man's land. In a small, mobile game, you can't RELOAD fast enough or rotate fast enough. In distance games, e.g. RIO, two shafts can hold an entire side of the battle (this makes the rooftop route very popular). Monte Carlo is strictly shaft and railgun, but you see the quick tanks slip through somehow.

The best thing about shaft are the "toe shots" or "through the knothole" shots, which you can't even see with other weapons.

-- I killed two guys in a row who looked out through a tiny "safe hole" in the wall < :-O

 

Also, you get a lot of eye-to-eye time with other snipers. (Looking into a laser is sometimes the last thing you see.)

 

All in all it's really simple. Shaft is good for nothing , bad for everything kinda turret. Keep using it and enjoy self destructing your skills.

Viking is too slow, so you wind up using Speed Boost a lot. A well-armored Hornet is fast enough to avoid quick attackers, and a smaller target.

(If you've ever been shot in the "toe" on Esplanade, you know what I'm talking about!)

Anyway, back on topic. I find that Shafts aren't a big problem with my M2 Dictator/Ricochet/Sandstone combo. It has massive health (augmented by Sandstone), decent speed, and a lot of impact force at close range. They only become a problem if they're drugging, really.

Nice ... You are a shaft user too? Now I can understand where you got that innovative idea that fire/freeze should have an auto aim function too :D :D.

 

And to your knowledge I would have very much enjoyed if you tried ruining one of those xp games I was in ;). I would have had many of those..."That awesome moment when you realise that the ruiner trying to ruin your xp with m1/m2 equipment is more of a mult than a ruiner". :D

I think the rebalance was kinda good, but it does reveal your spot. I liked it more when i could go invisible on people in bushes. i get that it's overpowered, but it sucks at close range, and if you go for a heavy hull to support it's stability and time to snipe, you need to get to your spot first.

the thing is you need to move fast to your spot, which only works with faster hulls, but they arent as durable. the shaft has a high chance to get shot before they get to a sniping location, if nobody's protecting them. I always use shaft with heavy tanks, and at close range many fast hulls can outspeed your scope.
