Clearly you use shaft, so you will defend it, considering that your idea of a fun game is killing light hulls who never had a chance. I dislike it not because of the concept, but because of how it's used. My experience with shaft is that you see it MUCH more on the low-level playing field than in higher-tiered matches. It isn't hard to get a K/D of over 10 with shaft on a medium hull and no skill.

Maybe my statement was a little crass. Ok. Sorry for offending you, I guess, but I think it's crass when some inexperienced noob can 1-shot a skilled player fairly easily, or at least stop them doing what they want to be doing. M2 shaft is fine. They paid 100K crystals for the privilege, but M1 is too cheap. Better than most M1 stuff at half the price.

The price should be put up to stop noobs getting their hands on it.

Light.shado is right.

If the user is a noob, the pro will have no trouble avoiding them.

Not saying I'm a pro shafter or anything, but I rarely miss, even when taking on Wasps on Nitro. If you have the skills to make the kills, but you use shaft, that doesn't instantly make you a noob.

Don't forget, pilot, that shaft M1 unlocks very early and M2 unlocks fairly late. It balances out.

Yeah, it isn't hard to get a good K/D at all, it's really easy actually.

But you know what's not easy? Keeping up with your teammates that are killing 2 enemies per second and capturing flags worth 100 points a pop.

You can have 189734238 D/L if you want, but it's pretty pointless if you're at the bottom of the scoreboard.

You have no idea how hard it is to use M1 Shaft past 3rd Lieutenant...

And 1-hit a skilled player? No "skilled player" would walk in the line of sight of a noob camping Shafter, especially when the laser is basically saying "HEY I'M CAMPING OVER HERE WAITING FOR SOME TARGET".

Besides, the only thing Shaft M1 can actually one-hit is Wasp and Hornet.

Am i the only person that misses the shaking of the shaft...? :c

The shakiness of the Shaft actually made me make some amazing shots with it :P, so yeah, I do miss the shakiness of it sometimes ;(

The shaking of the shaft prevents extremely tight shots, as on the parapet holes at Monte Carlo.

It still shakes if another tank is next to you on the left rear side. So please stand clear of the bazooka exhaust.

While I'm here: a "you're welcome" to those who thanked me for my selfless visits to the Red Team at Silence. A shaft behind the box is worth it's weight in gold boxes. For the noobs trying to sneak up behind me, that's what that mine you hit was there for. :P

The *most important thing* for teams fortunate to have a Shaft in their pocket: do not stand in my line of fire (even Isidas), which is *all the way across*...otherwise, I have to let you die before I can plug the attacker you are blocking from my view. So far at Silence for the Red defense, I am 15 wins for 20 battles.

Almost forgot: a shout out to great tanker general Tesopoyla who saved my butt, and the team, from a loss by troll at Monte Carlo.

M1 may be cheap, but similar to what Stinger mentioned, it's very hard to stick to the same turret as you move to higher ranks. At my rank of Major (and even as Captain), I'm dealing with M2 shafts that can put an end to me in one go. In just some cases, I manage to escape, but with very little health left, all thanks to the Dirty paint I use.

The only thing that stops me from getting an M2 shaft is the wait for a good sale. Till then, I have to keep up against the other Shafts that I compete against. In the end, I still have make sure my team is capable of holding their base and defending well, while also making sure any enemy Shafter who disturbs them must get rid of me first and foremost. That is what Shaft is meant for - to divert attention away from teammates and send the enemy running for cover, or get the enemy to see you as a potential threat that must be taken out first

Medium and heavy hulls are harder and more interesting targets. In such cases an M1 isn't enough (unless with double power), so you have to find a way to make them waste their shot at you.

Noobs always exist wherever you are. With short range turrets, you see them with Hammer and Firebird. With mid range, they normally use Rico or Twins. Shaft isn't the only turret they use, it's just that a noob is more noticed when he uses a Shaft because of it's damage dealing aspect.

soooo... in your opinion everyone is a noob , how cool , that includes you , using low ranged or far ranged is noob any way , so with this you just make yourself noob...

Nah, that's not what he was saying. Maybe you should read what he's saying carefully, because I agree with him completely.

Nah, that's not what he was saying. Maybe you should read what he's saying carefully, because I agree with him completely.

i was refering to the last part , the last part of his post destroys all he said till then , maybe he was right , maybe no , i won't give my oppinion about it , but the last part has nothing to do with the " discuss shaft " is more like trying to show that he is better than others , look:

"Noobs always exist wherever you are. With short range turrets, you see them with Hammer and Firebird. With mid range, they normally use Rico or Twins. Shaft isn't the only turret they use, it's just that a noob is more noticed when he uses a Shaft because of it's damage dealing aspect."

let me analise the text for you:

" noobs always exist" well let's accept this as a fact

" wherever you are" this already is a directly offense , if you are home with your family for example , if we take this proposition as a true one it mean you have a noob person in the family --> offense , i repeat he said "wherever" this exits tanki area.

"with short range turrets" this my friend is a judgment on players allover tanki , and can easily be seen as an offense

" you see them with Hammer and firebird" see ? the judgment of him goes even farther putting the players with hammer and firebird in category of noobs , what if a noob uses isida ? then is not noob any more ?...

"with mid range , they normally use rico and twins " who are these "they" ? the noobs ? then all the players who uses rico are noobs ... an other judgement

"Shaft isn't the only turret they use, it's just that a noob is more noticed when he uses a Shaft because of it's damage dealing aspect" is needed to continue my way of analise on this last proposition as well ? ..

so in final , the last part of his post destroys what he said , he went down ( for me at least ) by saying that last part , think that make me not to take in consideration the rest of his post , now you understood what i meant ?

NOOB GUN ALERT

Shaft should be removed. It adds nothing to the game and requires ZERO skill to use. This is a gun for boring people. Get railgun instead, you will be less

NONE of the turrets are "noobish". Shafts have actually saved my butt a couple times when I have the flag, proving they're quite useful in CTF.

People love using that quote.

My problem wouldn't be shaft if people used it to defend flags and be active more often. I have explained this dozens of times to shaft lovers, so lets make this the last, ok?

Shafts are very sedimentary in the low-level battlefield. They camp and do little more than snipe weary light hulls (yes I'm generalising but it's largely true). I imagine skilled players would be less annoying, since they would move around and help their team, but I rarely encounter shaft at higher levels, at least compared to their saturation in lower battles. I think it often ruins the experience of many players when noobish shafts camp and shoot. Their team never wins, since they don't go for flags, but neither does the other team, since they are just being 1-shotted at spawn.

Shaft users should widen out, try some other turrets, or at least move a little. Shaft is not the real problem. It just gives noobs an unfair advantage.

No offence bros.

I wouldn't have a problem with disgusting can opener users if they used them to open more CD packages. Filthy can opener peasants.
