The rebalance was because some turrets and hulls were a great deal stronger than others, so the devs tried to "re-balance" them. Some people thought it was good, others bad, but I wasn't around before it so I figure the devs have done what they thought was best. I don't know how much you've read the rules and forums and stuff, but I recommend you use the search engine to try and find things out before posting questions as there are often detailed answers already there. All the best on the battlefield mate. P.s. If you haven't already, I also recommend you read the FAQ, it's more useful than I thought it would be. :$

Shaft becomes less useful as you rank up IMO. Never see shafters at the highest rank. I think that shaft is good if playing with lower modifications because you can OHKO more tanks.

And if drugging, shaft users always should use 1 less powerup (nitro). Saves money.

i use shaft in some ctf battles but I will give you some hints on the shaft. shaft is better with light armor in my opinion. why? shaft is not a weapon for head on head either way if someone meets you, you will get shot unless your armor is mammoth. so here are the hints. grab a light armor wasp or hornet and go and hide in a small place, since wasp and hornet fits mostly through small places. after you choose your place make sure not a lot of people can see you. behind trees is good for shaft too because since in sniper mode it sees through bushes and trees. after you are hidden shoot everyone. but here is something to keep in mind.....don't shoot the same person twice in a row because if you get too annoying he might try to get you.

I hope this helped this is my first post on the forum ^_^

Really is the easiest way to camp and rack up the points.

it's not easy, you need to find a place where you can/think be safe, and you need to be always prepared if someone is coming from your back (put mines). You need to know who is your enemy, and who isn't.. You need always to shoot at thanks that are already damaged, don't ever waste a full loaded shaft for someone that you can't kill!

I can find all of that out with ease; hence my above statement.

You make using Shaft in general sound so complex, dude.

And with Shaft you should time your shots. You can make enemies miss, or even better, flip over. Or you can help stabilize a teammate if he's flipped sideways. ;)

Feel like I'm the only one that appreciates the nerf. If it were what it was before the rebalance, it'd be an OP tank. There were way too many shaft campers before the rebalance that would just get kill after kill.

shaft was rebalanced more than one time, before the first rebalance it could almost destroy a mammoth M3 with double armour!

But it overheated... that was the downside of it. It made shaft campers have to time their shots well and only charge up when needed or when you think the enemy will approach. In my opinion, this was better than the re-made version as people would camp for hours just aiming at the same spot for the entire battle

They aren't necessarily bad at ctf's, if you look at the game I posted, I was a midfielder and a defender. Although I do agree about the part that they are there just to go for kills as they have little potential in actually capturing a flag, some clever shafts may help out by grabbing ground and supporting the attackers by taking out the defenders so it's really a double edged sword when shafts are on your team.

One thing to note though, never use a shaft on a 4v4 game, they are completely useless especially in maps such as Combe and Sandbox. In smaller games, you need all tanks to be active and mobile players and campers are definitely not an option.

TDM's and DM's though are for shafts, as you said, they mainly go for hornets and wasps but can still do major damage to other tanks and if you have a good team, your teammates could finish them off easily

I have use shaft iin Combe and done great

Try using it at higher ranks, shafts never ever prevail in Combe if the other team is aggressive enough. ( What I mean by this is if they are all on the attack, some people like to camp on their side just trying to get a few shots with their thunder without contributing much) . At lower ranks, you will get tons and tons of noobs that'll be easy to kill  ( mo hornets are a massive occurrence in WO ranks)

Shafts are useless in that map, besides getting kills, they can't do much else. Say your team wants to attack, in a map as small as Combe, it usually helps if you all attack at once. Shafts will never contribute in the attack, maybe sometimes if the enemy are foolish enough to step out of cover but otherwise shaft will be on the sidelines for an attack. They might take out one defender but they'll respawn back much quicker than your shaft can get fully charged again and kill them.

Defense in maps such as Combe and Sandbox aren't meant for shafts either. A good defense in either map would usually consist of a freeze and maybe a thunder or railgun. Sahfts are terrible out in the open. You do have the wall to get cover behind though but that's not much good as their are two different paths to attack the flag and I doubt anybody with shaft could defend them both. Shafts just arent made for covering more than one path of attack.

For example, one time there were 2 shafts on our team. Our team weren't necessarily bad but because we mainly had the two shafts for defense, we lost the flag quite a lot of times because of the following reasons made above. Shaft is no means a bad turret, it's just not made for small maps

Yeah with m3 mammoth it is... nothing can really take that thing out except if more than one tank fires at it ( or 2 lucky smoky crit shots)

Well it does do well guarding the flag in occasional cases. Take Kungur for example. They're great for making sure the person who takes the flag gets killed or stopped. Especially when drugging.

In bigger maps, shaft shows it's strengths as it has unlimited range and very strong accuracy, it is good at defense, only except when it's aiming at one spot at the entire time. In combe that's not an option, There's not a spot where the shaft can effectively aim at the flag spot without getting taken down as it's too cramped in combe to use shaft effectively. Also the ramp leading up to the enemy side is the perfect wall for players to hide behind before striking out at the enemy side defending. Shaft's can't move off of their spot to shoot at the enemy to try and slow them down and that's why their weak in that map

I like the shaft with the hornet hull...I can get a sniper shot off and move quickly to another location. They do have their place and and need to be used in strategic warfare. I would not use in a small map. Like i said I like it in a mid to large map and to combine speed and accuracy
