Because you joined a noob team.

They should bring back Shaft's penetration power.

Its already OP with its intense damage.

Like a long-range Isida. :)

I mean, come on - look at the Shaft cannon. With DD, its shot is supposed to die after hitting a Wasp with 10% health????

Well I didn't think of it that way…

I have 100+ hours with mammoth shaft, and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

Better get thunder-titan.

Shaft has a very long reload, and if 2 enemies attack you, you're dead.

With thunder you still have a chance.

Plus the low damage per second means you rarely win one vs one confrontation if the enemy surprises you.

I already have m2 Smoky with that Titan account so buying a Thunder is too much like re-buying a 2nd Smoky.  I also have another account that uses Smoky or else I'd just stick with that on the Titan account. So I took a chance and went with Shaft. If I screwed up I can always go back to Smoky.

With 225 hours with Hunter-Shaft I can say that using this turret in Legend ranks is manageable but extremely difficult, but I have techniques to keep myself alive.

1. Practice mouse controls

2. Do not prolong your scope mode

3. Aim for missions which give you double power/buy only double power in sales

This are all the tips I could give as for now. Maybe I'll post more in the future. Keep Shafting bros

Thanks for the tips. I already do 2 because I believe in constantly observing the battlefield.

I use shaft with viking but mammoth is good for camping and hornet for changing sniper positions (but its 1 shot), I find viking to be a perfect balance for shaft

Is it worth it for me to buy shaft m2? And mammy m2? On tanki bday sales?

I'd rather suggest smoky m2, not saying that shaft is bad or anything but I play with you sometimes and I think smoky would suit your style better.

If I rank by that time, that's my aim.

^Careful using that tactic in my rank, you'd get shredded by a combined force of Ricos and Twins in seconds.

True, but our enemies were mainly a bunch of hornet rails, and I activated DD, I which means they mostly died in one arcade shot.

Whenever I play shaft in DM mode I always think DM stands for "Damn Magnums" (have you ever been to a full dm match without atleast 3 magnums?)

Whenever I play shaft in TDM mode I always think TDM stands for "That damn Magnum" (there's always that magnum who targets you only)

Whenever I play shaft in CTF mode I always think CTF stands for "Camp the flag" (story of my tanki life)

I see this happening aswell, Magnum is very easy to use when you mastered charge rate and angle of fire.

This is easier than you think, you'll develop some sort of feeling for it. I get K/D ratios of 3+ most of the time. All Magnums have to do is to find a nice camp spot and lob shells over a wall.

Splash damage has taken over the game. A nightmare for Shafts. You'll be able to hit their barrel sometimes when they poke right above walls but this can be done 2 or 3 times and then they find out that they can fire with a sharper angle and a bigger charge so the barrel doesn't stick out.

For some reason, it doesn't bother me

Magnums are easy to take out what I hate are Shaft+mammoth with an isida healing them

Or isida packs all healing that big tank

I love knocking the big fat end off magnum barrels - I can visualise the smug look falling from the players face as he realises that even though the hull is safe behind the wall, the barrel is just as vulnerable when it sticks up in the air like a flag pole.

I like magnum easy meat.

There is a certain angle where a Magnum does not have to expose his turret to hit the other side of the map, especially if he is camped behind a wall on an elevated platform. Kunger Blue and Brest Blue have these spots.

Highways also have a few spots that are almost impossible to hit with a shaft. I hate that;( A good challenge for the game however;)

Magnums in my rank usually get pummeled to oblivion by Twins or Ricos before they can even make their second shot (in DMs at least anyway), so they're not that big of a threat to me. Only the really good ones have a chance of even making it into the top 5.

I'm still more threatened by a Twins/Hornet barreling towards me than a Mammoth/Magnum who can barely get a shot at my tank.

+1

Don't forget what a freeze can do to a magnum - they can't rotate their turrets

Yes! I agree that the addition of all this splash damage has transformed gameplay. It will only get worse since the two biggest offenders, striker and Magnum, are rather difficult to learn. But players will learn them. We ain't seen Full Splash Mode yet. And I am not sure this will result in more fun for all.

When I was fiddling around with it I quickly learned to fire then lower the barrel. Raise-fire-lower.
