Ok, I decided to have some battles with my M1 Hornet + Light Capacitors before I made my decision on whether or not to buy M2 Hornet. Well, I have to say that it is a lot of fun being swift while using Shaft.

I got a 16 kill streak from the start of the battle. I could have died twice over before that but nooooo, the Destabilisation Railguns must use double damage when a Shaft laser is pointing at their almost materialised tank. I was quite surprised he didn't use double armour. Not a smart player at all.

I even had this gem in a Wolfenstein battle. While this doesn't really concern Light Capacitors since I could have achieved exactly what I did here with Stock Shaft but it does highlight Hornet's effectiveness.

If I remember correctly, III_TOSTER_III dropped maybe 7 golds in that battle. I caught the first one he dropped. That particular picture happened when the 7th one was dropped.

But for me, LC still need some buff.

Energy consumption should be increased by 100%. This mean it takes 2 seconds to get to full charge.

Upon firing the sniper shot, energy recharge increased to 200 energies per second.

It already takes just above two seconds to fully charge. Increasing the energy consumption by 100% would not make too much of a difference. A lot of times, I would fully charge up and wait more than 3 seconds for the/an enemy to pop up.

I agree that it should have a decreased reload time after a shot.

It would make a difference for me though. 30% sniper shot damage decrease is significant drawback itself.

Actually that is huge, even with Hornet, you're giving 30% protection up basically to any foe, at all times, OD or not, even no DA or module.  I have a REALLY hard time with Light Caps.

It's a significant drawback if you and your enemy are on equal terms (no supplies enabled or all supplies enabled).

You can still one-shot any hull that is unprotected. Smart cooldowns for double armour lasts for 30 seconds. Shaft protection is rare (but seems to be on the rise). You don't see much players using heavy hulls compared to light and medium hulls. So even if they have protection, an M3 Light Capacitors Shaft would still be able to one-shot an M3 Viking with 35% protection.

I believe that all of the turrets are made to be powerful when no one is using protection against it in a battle. I also believe that particular turrets don't do as well as others when confronted with protection modules. Shaft does well because not many players have protection against it. I wouldn't say that it's rare anymore; it's more like other turrets are worth protecting yourself from more than Shaft. How exactly do you think Light Capacitors would fare against 4 enemies on the enemy team with protection against it? I had that battle and I forced myself to stay Light Capacitors to see how I would do instead of switching to Assault Emitters. I was still ale to do well but not as well as I would have if they didn't have protection.

While it may be tough to do, you have to trust the devs sometimes because they've tested the alterations (I really hope so) before they released it. They saw its pros and its cons. They saw how it would be able to dominate and how it would be able to do poorly. They saw the many interactions with protections, hulls and other turrets. Keep in mind that that 30% damage decrease also incorporated a 10% damage increase before it.

I do admit it needs to be buffed but the only thing I think it needs is a sniper shot reload by only 1 second. That would make up for the decreased damage.

That's only when a M3 Viking does not have DA on. Double Power is mainly to bypass the module/DA. For me though, Eagle are still rare but it does annoy the hell out of me when I do not have module to counter-punish (means "Ya make my turret underpowered, I will make yours too.)

One time in Highways DM, a Railgun, Striker and Thunder were wearing Eagle. Luckily, I have those 3 protection modules for payback. It worked, not really effective though. And it did involved me unequip my Eagle (there were no Shafts back in that time).

Other time I faced a Titan-Shaft who has whopping 40% Shaft defence in Captain (he/she got it from a Legacy paint). Darn, I can't take that dude/tte down even with my Double Power.

Agree with that point. All about luck what battle the system put you into.

Anyways, I noticed that your Eagle is still M1. Thing is..... would you want M2 version or keep it like this?

Oh, what M3 kit you are getting when reaching to Lieutenant General (I assume you are a F2P tanker completely)

Nope. Waiting till Birthday sale.

At the meantime, I can play my F2P WO2 account again. Even after I bought it.... still going to play that F2P account.

It's shocking that from Lt. Colonel to Brigadier, it took me a bit more than 2 months to complete! Before Tanki's Birthday! At first I couldn't make it, but I did.

In those pictures, here are the progresses from those 3 weeks when promoted to Colonel:

From those 3 weeks, I earnt almost 87k EXP thanks to Premium.

I've been upgrading it slowly and I'll stop when I reach 21%. I'm in desperate need of Railgun protection with all these Railguns running around.

That's a LOT of crystals to save up by that time. I have Weekly Containers saved up for some crystals on the spot as well as refilling my supply of repair kits (under 300) and double damages (under 600). I decided that I would use Shaft and Striker solely until Marshal and maybe buy and upgrade Vulcan on the journey there. Yes, I am a F2P tanker.

For me, I rarely equip Falcon unless Railguns are uses protection module against my turret. And Hornet-Railgun can render your Falcon module with other defence obsolete for 30 seconds. Unless you are Viking/Hornet-Railgun yourself, then Falcon is worth it.

If your Eagle is 20% or less, stop upgrading and get its M2 in Tanki's bday sale.

I only micro-upgraded my Eagle to 26%. My Hornet is M2 1/10 and Shaft's M2 2/10. That should be decent.

Here is a question (your opinion): Would you prefer module system revert back to pre-Drone update when a single protection module is cheaper? Or current system that allowing you customise module setup whatever you want?

Or wanted it price go back down while you can customise module setup?

For me, if Mines back then did not annoy me, then I prefer the old module cost cuz I only wanted Falcon S-B back then.

Now though, mines are darn annoying that I'm desperately need Spider module. When I have my Scout Radar (I called it Shinkai Radar, named after Shinkai Shoujo) is active and stepped on a mine....killed me. And the OD ended, super annoying. Then I prefer the current system despite modules' OP price.

So, thoughts on game play with Shaft as of late.  First off, This WAR has been abysmal.  Can't keep that 1.0 K/D it seems, pissing me off.  That said, I played using about 6 supplies last night.  It was in vain, trying to take a third place spot for a mission.  I had picked up a flag that someone lost near the base and it put me in 4th, decided to go all in, and, head hung very low, I drugged.  I used a heal up x2, shield, double damage, and another battle I was stupid and forgot I wasn't in the same one and used a heal up and DD again there.  Long story short, I made 4th, ARRRGGG.

Point is though, while I was lit up and HEALING, keyword, healing, game play was so vastly different I almost couldn't adapt.  The double damage took me from 4 shot arcades that likely would get healed up on the third strike to 2nd hit and their dead.  Any scoped shot, especially with OD on, was a death sentence for the target.  It felt like shaft again.  My only complaint still, for anyone, drugger or not, is that infernal draw down on on damage for arcade shots after like ten feet from your tank (3 meters for the rest of the world).  I know that's an exaggeration, but you get the point.  That damage, even with DD, is pathetic.

Then why don't you play Juggernaut? I said this before and I will say it again. That might help you.... but it's 2 late now though...

Arcade shot is supposed to have short range now, in exchange of faster sniper shot reload.

Juggernaut is deathmatch, and I don't drug.  That's the LAST PLACE I want to be.

I do have to say that the containers were tempting mind you, but yeah, no.  Besides, if I ever became the Juggernaut, I have never played with rail or stryker, well, I've done so once or twice on Test, but I have no skills with those, not much point.

Noob camper Shaft confirmed

Then where the 1st place you want to be?! CTF?! You know how very unreliable is team battle right? Your team running away, you stand no chance whatsoever.

In DM/Juggernaut, I can pick a random tanker who want to team with me. Not the case in team battle. Even when I'm not doing well in solo mode, it's not like 1 vs 8.

And no, it's not the Containers tempting me. I play it because I need to bring my K/D back up.

I spent more than an hour talking about and defending Shaft in General 1 this morning.

Someone asked whether or not they should buy Heavy Capacitors or Rapid-Fire Mode. Talked to him for about half an hour and he made his decision. Then these two player came out and started saying that Shaft needs to be nerfed, nerfed to the ground or removed. I asked for their reason and they gave the stereotypical "Shafts just camp at the back of the map out of sight and rack up kills without dying".

Now, the first guy understood a bit where I was coming from. He even said this:

Is-this-lies.png

Now I know that's not true. M4 Shaft (obviously) would have the highest chance of doing something like that. But I'm pretty sure M4 Shaft would require about 70% of charge to kill an M3 Viking. The thing here is that he is a Captain so he won't be facing M4 Shafts to even get that statistic.

Hates-Shafts.png

The second guy was way worse though. He basically proclaimed that Shaft should be nerfed to the ground or removed. He said that he thinks it's cheap to play Shaft because they can stay at the back of the map out of site and one-shot players. He then went on to say that no turret should one-shot anyone. Now this guy is a WO4 so I asked him if he had any higher ranked accounts and he says the only other account he has is a WO2 account. I told him that things are different in the mid and high ranks but he says that having a WO2 and a WO4 account is enough to understand.

The-master-of-the-game.png

Players or people like these in general seem like they can't be helped so I cut the argument after about 40 minutes. This is me just paraphrasing about 60% of the entire thing.

I told him that I like to utilise my arcade shots at close range as well as sniping and he told me that I was playing Shaft wrong and there was only one way to play it which was sniping from your base.

I really wish that you can help some of these people but they prefer to stay drowned.

mohammedhussain2003 was the Hornet-Thunder who climbed to 1st place. :)

And CS-AHMAD was the Mammoth-Twin who teamed with me. One time he wanted me to destroy his tank cuz of critical HP. LOL.

Ah, what can you epect, my friend? People always hate campers, but I even see Firebirds camping at the back of Wolfenstein when I move around with Shaft. Seriously, the hypocrisy is on another level.

Eh, what can you do? This is Tanki. People would much rather make their lives easier by using Uranium and Viking's OD.

It's taken to another level when Fires and Freezes camp at the top in Brest, apparently waiting for another melee range weapon to come from the opposing team so they can fight...

That's so random, I literally just played a PRO-battle with that guy, @whatever123.

I just realized that the arcade shot damage glitch is intentional. Probably to deal with campers....

Getting too many of that annoying glitch today, and....

How does it deal with campers?
