Today I played at my friends house and I didn't know about the re-balance and we used shaft his and mine favourite ( after smoky  :D ) and it was normal. Then I realised that shaft got better somehow , Long story short it is very good know.

u kidding me???? damage decreased from 195 to 177 ?????? really??? why!!! :( not fair

I guess it is fair if they are lowering the HP of most of the hulls. It sucks for me too, as I'm getting m2 shaft in a couple days.

It's still good though as the arcade shots do just enough damage to finish almost every hull off, which is about 45 damage. That's more than you think. ;)

Here's my problem:

         Often I won't have enough time to reload an arcade shot with M1 shaft. Sometimes an enemy with a flag will be on the run, about to find cover. Before, I could kill this enemy swiftly. But now my pathetic 133 damage might not be able to make the kill before the enemy finds cover. Even if I do [have enough time], if I'm shooting from a long distance it's hard to aim a shot at an opponent, especially under pressure. It would be like trying to snipe with rail gun :lol:. I liked it better when I could just wipe out opponents *snaps fingers* just like that. Now my enemies with my team's flag will escape with the flag, 'cause most of the time I'm the one who shoots them. I was successful then; now I'm in doubt.  -_-

Had a battle with Shaft M3 (no MU's) today.
Turned out it's capable of dominating the whole battle.
Guess it shall become my main weapon again.

Shaft is not my favorite weapon, but it's fun to play with it sometimes. But it can only kill light hulls in 1 shot which is useless in my opinion.  

Alot of players drive light-medium hulls. Even if it can't kill a hull, it can land some pretty high damage, which could help your team defeat that enemy.

With shaft, you can get a very high D/L. :)  It is hard to compete against other tanks who are capturing flags with a CTF battle for they can get much more points by capturing flags. :(  Use shaft for DM battles only.

^ With new update, you can actually use shaft offensively without being RIDICULOUSLY skilled with it (I know like 1 person who could do it, I was blown away in every battle...) Put it on a light tank or maybe Hunter, stick to the shadows and creep behind walls, slowly working yourself to the flag. Then grab it and run while firing arcade shots behind you :D And if you can't do that, you could always keep up with your team's offense if you have an excellent camping spot and it's an intense, low-scoring game. I doubt you'll get first, but second or third easy :)

^ Just try using it a little more dynamically. Instead of finding a camping spot where you can only shoot a very specific area where people will pass right through, find an area where you have a better vantage point and take advantage of the PRO to the changes to shaft : the arcade shot. If you don't get 'em the first time, get 'em in another second.. literally.

You were probably sniping and therefore weren't involved as much in capturing the flag for example. You get point for that too. You can also get extra points if you use isida and heal or in a deathmatch, where points are shared according to how much you damaged the tank.

Sorry, meant for TDM.  Don't play much CTF with my Titan/Shaft combo!
