It's great for you rank, since most people you see will be killed in one shot.

i use shaft in some ctf battles but I will give you some hints on the shaft. shaft is better with light armor in my opinion. why? shaft is not a weapon for head on head either way if someone meets you, you will get shot unless your armor is mammoth. so here are the hints. grab a light armor wasp or hornet and go and hide in a small place, since wasp and hornet fits mostly through small places. after you choose your place make sure not a lot of people can see you. behind trees is good for shaft too because since in sniper mode it sees through bushes and trees. after you are hidden shoot everyone. but here is something to keep in mind.....don't shoot the same person twice in a row because if you get too annoying he might try to get you.

good advice although shaft mammoth is also good for camping if you can find large enough bushes. There is a great spot on polygon in dm, in the corner where there is a radio tower in front of spawn point and an enclosed space with 1 entrence on the right, place a mine on spawn move to the side charge up shaft and kill everyone!

If you have the crystals now and it fits your playstyle, definitely, Own m0 Vikings and other low level tanks with it.

I have it and my d/l can soar through the roof with it.

Shaft is a pretty useful weapon. It's especially good for Sniping and covertly attacking other tanks. :ph34r:

 

I normally go and hide in a corner from where I have a large field of view. I normally focus on places which are bustling with tanks and DESTROY them in their tracks! :tank:

I find that using shaft in Serpuhov, Silence and Moon Silence increase my D/L ratio pretty fast.

 

I know that I'm stll at a low rank compared to you guys but... Honestly, Shaft is one of my top 2 weapons! :P

depends on the maps, it isn't so good in smaller maps, and now it's still good because not many people have protection against shaft.

The only ones you see are Lead or Dirty; doesn't go any further than that, really. (Obviously does but it's not popular)

Shaft m1, even at my rank, is fairly good. At sergeant major when it unlocks, it owns. As you go up, kill stealing is more and more of a necessity. Once you get to major, get shaft m2 ASAP. Unfortunately, I'm very poor at the moment so I can't get shaft m2 at major. I really need a tanki job... I want multiple combos but can't get them cuz I'm really poor. -.-

In normal battles with DP it's not annoying, it's frustrating.

It feels so good to kill them and mess up their D/L though. I once did that to a Shaft who had a 46 kill streak and 1 death. . . killed him 2-3 times and ruined his D/L. >:^)

I used to be a former shaft (as some of you may know) and after the rebalance I was deterred from buying it when seeing how its maximum damage compares with the HP of some tanks. But I would like to know if it was a mistake as a miss shaft very much. Is shaft worth investing in? Would a pre-rebal shafter like the current shaft? Whats still good about shaft? Would like to hear from those who had shaft before rebal and bought it after and those that decided to invest in it after the rebal (please specify).

Really, it depends WHEN you get each M; if you can get it early each time, you'll own especially at M1

Don't think im a noob, cos this is ky new account, but heres what I think:

 

shaft is a good weapon for maps such as silence etc, and is best if camped in a corner, so its hard to spot. The reason for this is because if there is 2 or more enemies, your basically dead unless ur drugging. In ctf shaft can help defend key points, but relies on team members to do most work. Best suited for large maps and 10v10 battles.

 

in lower ranks it is especially dangerous as it can take down hunter, hornet, wasp in 1 shot. Whilst Viking is 1 and a half shot, mammoth is 2 shots. (these apply to m0 hulls only!)

the shaft is vulnerable to railgun and other weapons such as thunder, and smoky but not richochet as it is low powered.

 

close range weapons such as freeze and isida are very dangerous to the shaft as well, no matter what hull.

 

the freeze is dangerous because it can circle around the enemy and because of the freeze effect the shaft takes forever to turn.

 

isida because most isida users use fast hulls such as wasp and hornet, meaning they can go fast round you, and you'll just be shooting at them, not zoomed in, because its your instinct to kill them,and your brain thinks that's the fastest way. And even if you do take them, theyll just recharge their health.

I have shaft since before various rebals and it never disappoints me. Shaft is my forte because since I bought it I have been using most of the time I play Tanki. You might think since this is coming from a much lower rank than you, you might suspect my shaft skills not so great but believe me...I wield this weapong like it's part of my own being :P

Being a shaft sniper requires great patience and perseverence. Thus, you must always anticipate your enemies' moves and react faster than they can blink. The turret's rotation and also tracking with your crosshair are quite slow movements so you have to then have a fast prediction and reflexes to make up for it. I get the most score with shaft.
