Shaft has unlimited range, but I see what you are getting at.

If you want to turn your turret a bit faster, do it just as you start charging the shaft. It does begin to slow down.

However, if you have a good camping spot you shouldn't have a problem.

Yes, but don't forget to always check after each shot, someone could come from behind ( which is hard to see as shaft). In that case use mines behind you just in case.

As a Shaft:

1. If you're just out to kill things, shoot the hulls that you know you can kill in one shot.

2. If somebody has your flag, shoot them.

3. If you're in a good camping spot, place mines guarding the entrances so people have a harder time killing you.

4. If there are a lot of enemy Shafts out there, use a paint that protects from Shaft. If there aren't, use a paint that protects against the turrets the enemies are trying to kill you with. If you're in a really good camouflage spot, you might want to consider using a paint that gives you camouflage.

5. Change locations every once in a while.

6. You occasionally get the opportunity to pull off long range crack shots. Those are really cool to score, but do so only if you don't have much else to shoot at.

7. If you're using cover, duck back into cover after you shoot.

My M1 Shaft will be able to kill vanilla (I'm assuming non or very little MUed) M2 Hornets once it finishes MUing. Considering how popular Hornet is, it's really nice to be able to one-shot all 3 modifications that I'm going to be seeing often.

Remind me not to play against you any time soon.

189.0 damage is terrifying.

Mwahahaha Shaft m2. You`ll never know what hit you.

Then again, I do have MUed Lead paint, so if I put that on my Dictator I have a chance of counter sniping you. :P

Still, I don't like fighting against players Major and up. Besides the obvious fact that I don't have the equipment to fight them on the same terms (at best, I can barely hold my own), they tend to use supplies whenever possible (I'm not saying those people are bad players; it just makes them harder to fight) and are probably more skilled than I am.

On the test server, I did alright against the vast majority of the players there, many of which were extremely high ranks, so I guess my skill is decent for now.

Doesn't matter to me tanks tremble and wither away in the sights of my shaft.

In all seriousness, hornets can survive shaft shots if they have protective paints on as we'll as some mu's.
