I was just on my @Killer2_the_best account using isida viking I went into CTF and right off the bat we were faced against like 5 smokies, 2 incendiary, 1 cryo, and 2 regular. And they just seem to keep coming back to our base every 20 seconds, really annoying.

If this doesn't show the power of smoky, I don't know what will.

Maybe your team sucked was weak...

Hmmm... conspicuous by it's absence... Auto-cannon...

Multiple players using the same turret will achieve that. In this case, it happened to be a fast-firing turret.

Oh how horrible it is to end up going against 5 Thunders. It only reinforces my understanding of why Thunder protection is so common.

Now imagine 5 LCR railguns waltzing through your base oneshotting people with hornet OD

God I hate that. What I hate more is 2 being LCR, 1 being EA"S" and the other 2 being Round Destabilisation. That is THREE different types of Railgun there. And you know what sucks? You can't distinguish which one who is hiding hit you until the second shot comes, because:

If it deals high damage to you, it could have been either an LCR or RD Railgun. The only way to know is if they shoot quickly after, then you know it's not an LCR Raiilgun.

If it deals damage around what EA"S" Railguns do, then it could have been an RD Railgun, ubless you get hit less than 3 seconds after.

What if the EA"S" Railgun happened to be on a Hornet and had its Overdrive ready, you wouldn't know if it was an LCR Railgun that hit you until a next shot hits you 2.5 seconds after.

With so many alterations and some alterations' damage falling into a subset of others, if there are multiple and they're out of sight, you just can't gauge what type it is since there are so many and they cover lots of ground (different damages). That is something I despise about seeing multiple Railguns on the enemy team.

Well he didn't mention the rank bracket of the battle. Let's assume that it's from to . 5 of the enemies have Smoky. Since it's a large rank bracket, it's likely that maybe 2 or 3 of those Smokies were able to purchase the alteration. But then the alteration itself is expensive, 180k, 126k with a 30% discount. I wouldn't fork out that much on a 30% sale. I did in the past but that wasn't a sound investment looking back at it after using it.

And another factor is maybe they'd rather peek-a-boo around the corners of their base or maybe it just didn't fit their playing style. All of the other Smokies are the same except Auto-cannon.

What?

Well, I mean the firing mechanic. It's a fast-firing low-damage alteration that relies on critical hits. All of the other Smokies have the same reload and direct damage for a non-critical shot except High-Precision Aiming System.

Actually, none of the smokies turned their turret, just their hull.

Nah... Diesel is not a fan of Auto-cannon - yet ironically it was NOT a version of smoky that was causing problems.

And you let them beat you?  :o          I kid.

I was healing my teammates. <_<

I may not have been in the best positions at times, but what would you have done if your base was attacked by by five smokies?

Btw, not one of the smokies were using viking and not one thunder was on their team in that Osa battle.

Equip my smoky module - 5 of them makes it a no-brainer...

Smoky has been completely OP: reason

Its critical hit can spread around! If you hit one opponent, it'll move to another, if they're touching each other! So Thunder is Useless! Thunder needs more power and NEEDS MORE RELOAD SPEED!

critical can not spread....that is entirely INCORRECT!!

I find it funny how Smoky's critical can one-shot light hulls at M1 and M2. That's good and all.

But then you have the Supercumulative Smokies one-shotting my medium hull. That seems kind of wrong to me. But it may be balanced according to the devs.

Supercumulative Rounds makes it seem like you get your critical every 10 shots or something but I get it every 5-8 shots, which seems just like Stock Smoky.

I've also gotten it as my 2nd shot after respawning. So now, I've gotten my critical hit on the 2nd shot after respawning with every type of critical-hit Smoky.

Stock Smoky: Real Server

Supercumulative: Real Server

High-Precision Aiming System: Test Server

Incendiary Rounds: Real Server

Cryo Rounds: Test Server

Autocannon: Test Server

I bring this up because I just played against this guy who has M4 Smoky.

 May-be-a-hacker.png

Well other than having better internet than everyone else, spawning first and capping the ball while we were still spawning, the guy just pooped on my team.

When he used his Viking's Overdrive, it looked as if the firing rate was way above 18 shots for 7 seconds. He one-shotted my Dictator twice and I couldn't do anything, really.

Probably not as ugly as the legacy skins though. :P

Actually, I really want Smoky/Wasp Legacy to come out - Wasp complete with non-moving tracks :)

And recently a guy asked on Gen 1 if Gauss LGC would be coming out in an upcoming challenge. I wonder if he knows what Legacy means ;P

It don't take much skill to use smoky, and it takes much less if you're spamming the shots on your enemies using autocannon, especially if they were using a stable hull.

imo ever since the devs increased the max range it's kinda noobish now.

You can do triple digit damage at longer ranges because of the weak damage buff instead of hardly anything whilst waiting for criticals (at my rank that is, where it's quite easy for a non-buyer get an M1/10 Smoky for the WO ranks).

Still need good aim, but now you can camp and snipe for most of a battle on lots of maps when you couldn't before, especially on Kungur CTF where the red flag area is extremely exposed.

Smoky needs a nerf at low ranks. It's because it fires so fast that protections against it aren't even worth it. And that critical with DD can one shot light hulls.

On my VikingPrime account, I placed 3rd place in a battle with m1s using m1 3/10 smoky and m0 20/20 Viking.

Smoky doesn't even need the stability to do well unlike thunder, railgun, shaft, striker, Gauss, magnum, etc.

Low ranks can just have m2 smoky and with that m2 unlock rank it's crazy powerful.

Finally today i got pissed off by the fact that smoky last shot before die didnt make damege. Sometimes that last shot can kill an enemy. I see the impact but not the damege. Its bad. Anyone notice this too? Can it be fix? Thanks
