I have hpas for smokey. @F41TH incendiary rounds is better.

I agree. but i also strongly believe that there'll be more heat resistances as i go higher. hence i'd like to rely on pure brute force(with skill ofc) to punch my way.

I'm using Incendiary at legend ranks and it's still very effective.  Might take a while for the resistance augments to become more popular - very expensive when you have to buy ONE PER HULL.

So is it good or not? I'm planning to buy it' I'd say I'm okay with Smoky. I get a D/L of around 14-15 each match when I'm serious.

Well if you prefer high damage per shot, then by all means get it. But if you rather have high firing rate, then it's not for you.

Then again, you can always try to get lucky on containers like I did.

With the current trend of increased experience points, you will probably reach legend in one year ( if you play regularly but casualty).

I play 3-4 matches in a month.

I like both damage and firing rate. But a bit more on damage.

I'm the unluckiest person you'll find in terms of containers.

It was available when your Smoky was M2. After October 31st, 2018, the requirement for unlocking the alteration was changed to having the rank of Warrant Officer 4 and its price reduced by half.

After the recent Augment update, it is available at any rank but only from containers.

i own this alt but whey most of players uses autocanon it's weak very weak

I am too. However, a week ago I got a fire immunity...or at least I think it is. So don't give up hope!

could either one of you test HPAS and SC in the same battle and tell me how they work?

I'm not a fan of either. Supercumulative Rounds leaves you at the mercy of RNG. If you're unlucky, you'll barely see critical shots. And you are also at risk of killing a 1 HP enemy with your Supercumulative critical hit. If it were still 30k I'd recommend it just so you'd have more variety in your Smoky arsenal. But I won't recommend it at its current price.

I don't do well with HPAS. The damage increase isn't significant enough to notice a decrease in kill times compared to Stock and though I'm expectedly punished more for missing a shot, the damage I miss doesn't seem worth the increase in reload time. That is my experience. I've encountered HPAS Smokies who do well and cause damage. Having a faster firing rate (Stock Smoky) proved to be better than HPAS when I used it.

I've been using mainly Autocannon recently and that's working out well for me. It's fun to use especially when I kill a medium hull in 4 shots total.

You can play a pro battle, preferably. MM match works too.

Thanks if you do!!

HPAS is basically a splashless thunder with criticals. Good only for sniping and midfielding as far as I've noticed.

As for SCR, Idk, I don't have it on any of my accounts.

Medium hull in 2 seconds? ?❕ wow.

You need to be really lucky, that is, getting 2 critical hits within 4 shots. The first and last hit must be criticals so it would go like 1,600 - 275 - 275 - 1,600.

I believe the luckiest I've gotten with this was two back-to-back lucky rolls as 1,600 - 275 - 275 - 1,600 - 275 - 275 - 1,600.

Here are 3 battles I just did with each:

I had a bad star at the beginning that saw me with 0 kills and 4 deaths because enemies outnumbered us and I didn't have any burst damage.

I wasn't able to do as well as my teammates and it was uncomfortable trying to fight the enemies. At one point, I was bullied by two Ricochets. I needed one more shot to kill the Ricochet in the back but I couldn't land the four shots I had left before I died because of the impact force. Having a faster firing Smoky would have been much better in that situation.

HPAS is uncomfortable for me so innately the experience will be poor and will work itself upwards. Supercumulative depends on how lucky I am but it plays mostly like Stock Smoky. Autocannon for me is fun so the experience will be good and will work itself downwards.

You need to try Incendiary - my default smoky set-up.

I've been using Incendiary for the past month now and I don't know if it's actually better than stock or not. The increased damage from the burning is nice... but there are so many moments where I'll get a critical shot and my opponent will be burning, and I'll finish them off with my next shot.

Every time that happens a part of me wonders had I been using stock smoky would I have killed him with the instant burst of damage and not had to suffer that extra damage whilst waiting for my next shot? Also, whenever I get a critical shot on a hornet without double armor, I could leave him to burn but that usually means sustaining more damage, so I have to keep my focus on him and continue shooting until I know he's dead, whereas a regular critical shot would just blast him immediately.

Its definitely better at longer ranges or when shooting behind cover and you don't have to worry as much about the enemy shooting back, but the for the supply heavy run-and-gun style I tend to play in MM, I'm not sure if its actually giving me an advantage.

I look at the incendiary benefits this way...

1) The damage diff between regular hit and critical hit at mk7+ is not very high.  You give up some extra damage, but afterburn more than makes up for it.

2) Target has two sources of damage to protect against, and one of them (afterburn) is very expensive

3) A lot of targets have either smky module or DA or both.  Afterburn helps cut through that as it does more total damage

4) DD also works on the afterburn - so if they don't have DA I do 300 damage per tic.  I can one-shot a surprising amount of tanks with DD enabled.

I've used stock smoky when alerations not enabled and I find it very meh compared to incendiart.

But in the end it's what we are comfortable using.  If it's not for you, stick with the other set-ups you find more effective.

Use HPAS, SR or Stock. I've been using stock Smoky and have been smoldering people even 7-8 ranks above me. I really like the idea of HPAS. Increased damage for a pay in reload. It hits hard. Very hard and is great. I didn't get to use it much but when I used it in test server my scores were better with it than stock Smoky. If you're a mid-fielder like me who makes sure to finish the tank then go with HPAS. There will be times when you feel that having a faster reload would be better, welp, that's one drawback. But the 2k crit you get is totally worth it.

Well you have smoky mk6 at WO4.  That's 8 ranks earlier than average joe can buy it individually, or upgrade from mk5.

That may account for some (actually a LOT) of your success.

Do you think stock Smoky is better than stock Gauss? I'm at Brigadier (one gold star) so I'm facing higher rank players. I'm not sure which one to get but I do know that Smoky has a lot of good augments.

Both are good in their own ways though you should consider on the fact that there a lot of smoky protections and a lot less gauss protections.
