I started using twins again (M4) and forgot how strong this turret can be (because not many people use twins protection now). It is great in small maps like sandal cp.

And only on those maps will it perform well. Using Twins on any medium / large map will literally erase any good thoughts you've had of it.. it's just terrible. And because most MM maps aren't small unfortunately, I can't remember the last time I played Twins.

I would like everyone’s opinion on whether twins is high skill or not.  It used to be no skill imo, but the slower projectile speed really makes it much harder to hit enemies.  In my experience, stabilised plasma alt is a must, because maintaining distance is too difficult.  Too close, self damage, too far, shots miss.

I don't think you quite know just how good Twins's splash is. I always use the accelerator along with a dedicated Panther module and just rip people apart at longer ranges. Even Ricochets have a hard time going up against this beast.

I don't really care about Twins' self-damage, its not really that big of a deal unless you're on the following maps: Island and Ping Pong.

Same here! The splash is great for the new Siege mode and when gold boxes drop.

I played stock twins before, and only recently bought the stabilised plasma alteration on my alt.

The splash useful only when tanks are next to each other, and the damage is minuscule when on the edge of the splash radius.  Maybe it is different for accelerator, since you won’t risk self damage as much, but it lowers the dps.  Same situation with Rico’s MFS, I guess I just don’t like the alteration that much.

Also, stabilised plasma opens up a module slot for a more common turret.

Oh, and it’s and you typed “I don’t think you quite know just how good”.  Missed the “don’t”, I’m assuming it’s a typo.

Splash radius is far too small to hit more than 2 targets at once.  You will deal damage to yourself too, unless you don’t care for the 1k gold.

Siege is just...Siege.

You'll never know when the splash damage will come in handy.

Also, the splash radius of twins is 3 meters, which is a diameter of 6 meters, which is comparable to the size of viking from head to tail. Its pretty decent.

Sorry, second thought, and I don’t know how to multiquote when editing(not posting).  It just creates a new post.

Do you play twins on other maps with plasma accelerator?  For me, stock twins is unplayable as I can’t get too close nor too far.

Also, I find it difficult to track when shots are alternating at a quick fire rate.

And when the self damage comes in.  Splash damage rarely helps me. Perhaps it is just me.

No idea it was that big.  However, damage decreases as it reaches the radius.  So, it really isn’t that effective.

Yes, I use the accelerator on all MM battles.

It all comes down to how the player uses the turrets.

Yeah, but even if you deal like 1 damage to an enemy nearby the intended target, when your teammates kill that enemy, you'll get exp for assisting the kill.

Thanks.

True.  I prefer playing up close and personal, especially offense.  Self damage becomes more important there compared to midfield or defending.

Fantastic point, I completely overlooked that.  I don’t encounter those situations often though, and I play differently, so each to their own.

Unfortunately, Twins just isn't a turret for me, as I had first learned back with the Black Friday Container gold bug where I bought Ram Kit before the forced server restart and absolutely hated how it (Twins) felt. So I knew there not to buy that ever. Then come more recently, I got lucky with 300,000 crystals from a container, on an account that needed it the most. The Jam Kit (Twins + Dictator) was there, and it was the last day to buy it. I was too impatient and bought the Kit hoping to give Twins another try after all this time. Once again, it was an awful experience. And to make things worse, when the new kits came out 2 days later, I could have gotten the Guard Kit or the Striker + Titan Kit, which suited me better.

So it was there, stuck at almost M2, where I only used the Dictator and the M2 Twins protection module from the kit. Somehow I ended up with all 3 of its alterations, just to see how they were. Tried Plasma Core Accelerators first in a Magistral battle and it didn't see much use. Switched to Stock and I did slightly better although I suffered a lot of self-damage from teammates because I like to be near my teammates when I use Dictator.

During a sale, I bought Stable Plasma. I did well with it because of the impact force increase and I could ram into enemies without much fear. Then, I bought Heavy Plasmagun. Nicola_M seemed fond of this alteration and I had only used it in the Test Server before. As expected, more than half of my shots didn't deal any damage to the enemy because of the slow projectile speed. It mainly worked on stationary targets. You'd need to get in close in order to hit your projectiles but that comes with the risk of even higher self-damage, but the splash damage was worth it sometimes. I used that during the New Year Celebrations on the map and did really well with it, mainly because everyone was mostly stationary wither waiting for the gold or huddled in the pile.

'

Of course, the parameters would be most efficient at M4 and I have hard times as a light hull dodging projectiles from experienced Twins players, even from range.

One thing about Twins is that it's not as scary as some of the other turrets with Viking's Overdrive. I'm able to survive against them if I have enough distance away from them.

Overall, I think it requires more skill than it used to, and it's not a turret I enjoy playing, but I'll willingly use it sometimes for variety.

Yeah

The splash damaage is kind of useless IMO, but if it's supposed to serve as a nerf it's perfect.

This turret...twins users are By FAR the most likely to stop the game objective to chase me around an object, while holding space of course, or to follow me after I spawn. Sooo many times Ive gone around and around and around a piece of terrain with the twins following...like "Alright were gonna do this all night if you want".

So, following up on my previous post, yesterday, in ONE battle, this twins viking kept ignoring everyone else to chase after me...probably bc i was a wasp...I may have dropped 3 bombs on him, so...don't think he was very happy. Got him every time

I find that twins, firebird, smoky, and ricochet users follow you more than any other turret.

I made it M4 (aka MK8) in 2019 (maybe 2018 I can't remember) and I never even use it anymore because I get shot to pieces before I reach the enemy. I don't think it's the easiest turret to use anymore, not like in the past.

It used to be excellent in DM mode, but since that was removed from matchmaking I haven't played it.

I'm playing less and less now, so maybe I'll seek out some old polygon PRO battles in DM mode.

I've always said, I use Plasmagun as a Splash&Dash.  For close-in stuff it'll get you killed quickly.

I make a dash towards the target while firing from about 10 tank lengths away (from that distance they don't seem to hear the shots).

They usually don't notice until there is a large cloud of shots arriving on them, but Plasmagun are 250-damage per shot so not many needed for a kill.

Pair it with a fast hull like Wasp and you can lay down quite a nice big cloud on them. ?

WHat changes have been made to twins recently?

Hey there! I have a question that I'm hoping I could get some feedback on please... ?

With the current state of Tanki, if I could only buy one of twins' alterations, which one would you recommend me to get?

Note: I mainly play as a dictator, and I prefer team battles, mostly CTF and CP. I stay away from DMs. Thanks in advance!
