Are you sure this is the case? The cooling rate for all tanks should be identical.

I read it somewhere. I can't remember where. I also had in-game evidence from the Test Server. I noticed that players would unfreeze faster if I shot them with Shock Freeze, which proved what I read was correct.

Makes sense if it's like that because maybe if they kept it the same as Stock Freeze, it would have been too powerful?

Anyone can share experiences of the shock freeze alteration against an opponent with 50% protection from Freeze? Not enough data in previous screenshots to say freeze is overpowered: Conditions aren't really known, the level of protection of the enemies aren't known (probably none), whether they used overdrives, supplies, etc.

Shock Freeze can still freeze enemies with 50% protection quite easily.

I equipped Freeze after a very long time and love it with the Shock Freeze. It's really fun watching all the frustrating players who cannot move an inch when I circle around them with Wasp. It is quite hard to pull it off usually, but certainly fun.

True some of those heavy tanks take ice ages to kill XD

The alt is great for defence if you have supporting team mates who will deal actual damage. Otherwise it seems that it takes far too long to kill someone.

The job of a freeze would be to make the hard to kill enemy an immobile bait right in the line of allied fire. Then the turrets with higher damage per shot only need to aim and fire. :)

Which is not in favour of the Shock Freeze as it is likely to gain more assists than kills, thus decreasing the score you obtain on average (if you're choosing to play it like this). Getting a lot of score is what gets you stars. A way to get stars with Shock Freeze is pairing it with Wasp and freezing the defenders in little time and running away with the flag or Rugby ball. You can also use that with Wasp's bombs. Freeze has the best synergy with Wasp's bomb.

Freeze got a buff in energy and a nerf in freezing rate. I guess Shock Freeze will come in handy if you have it.

Umm, not quite. As Stock Freeze got the nerf, Shock Freeze will also get it.  The freezing rate of Freeze is already quick when in the maximum damage range. It (Stock Freeze) will get the turret to the new % minimum temperature in about 1 second of shooting. Shock Free isn't going to change much considering that having 80% of your turret rotation speed as a melee turret or a short-range turret isn't bad. All Shock Freeze would have over Stock now is the ability to freeze the hull faster.

But remember, the time it takes to get back to 100% speed is reduced when using Shock Freeze. This nerf allows enemies to fight back better. Shock Freeze is slightly better off when engaging for the first 1 or 2 seconds, but Stock would still be able to get the damage out twice as fast so you'd have a higher chance of not dying because of the nerf.

So if anything, this would see a rise in Corrosive Mix users, like you said in the news thread.

It seems impossible for DEvs to do anything in moderation.  Freeze messing up JUG battles?  Let's nerf it 77% (instead of trying 40-50%).

They did same thing to Vulcan (damage reduction during overheat) and Isida - went from 50% vampirism to 10% (where nobody used it).

So my guess based on the comments, freeze has become Vulcan 2.0 in terms of being nerfed into oblivion.

At least it still has its high damage. You'd go about your life normally if the Freezes you encounter stand stationary in front of you when firing at you. The Freezes that circle their enemies must semi-circle strafe now for the most efficiency. If a long range turret doesn't have much problems turning their turret against them, then melee turrets have free reign to destroy that Freeze.

As long as the Freeze is able to pump out damage quickly enough, it should be good, but they can't rely on circling the enemies anymore (unless said enemy never turns their turret at all). They'll probably change it again in a few days.

Which defeats having freeze in the first place...   It was a learned skill and now they nullify it.

TO keeps setting the bar lower every time they make a change.

So the nerf gives freeze longer damage but less freezing? I didnt think freeze was a problem. I wish they could find a way to encourage fire/freeze on light hulls and discourage on medium/heavies. The old freeze wasp is a great tool....circle strafing is super powerful, altho maybe not anymore

Just equipped it and was a bit disappointed by how easily could people still rotate the turret to damage me to oblivion. I guess my Freeze will now get rusty in the garage, because I do not plan to use it anytime soon. I miss you freeze effect :')

Not only that but Dictators OD and cryo smoky has made the freezing ability less unique and I don't think they're freezing ability got nerfed.

so hey is freeze's ability to give MINIMUM temperature to enemy's hull still the same? in the wiki they show that it is 01 for both turret and hull of the enemy.

It is the same for the hull. Only the turret's minimum temperature limit was changed. The hull will still move at 10% of its maximum speed when fully froze. The turret, however, would be able to rotate at 80% of its maximum rotation speed.
