A maxed Gauss with Viking overdrive and DD has a chance of taking out whoever is in the dome, provided the shots are continuously consecutive.

I never thought to try this before. Mostly because I can't just use my overdrive all willy-nilly like some people can and everything else is just useless against it. Does DD help?

Once again, a few more battles prove that the dome is a direct upgrade from isida, now just allow the user to gain exp and score from healing allies, and there'll be no reason to use isida rather than titan.

I see no problems here. Of course a temporary ability that must be charged up should be stronger while in use than a turret that has constant strength throughout the whole battle.

1) either it's because you just don't care, or you're just flat out ignorant. If it weren't either of those then you wouldn't be saying that.

2) which brings me back to my question. Why use isida at all?

It helps but no worries if you don't have DD available at the time you perform the Viking's OD. The OD will make each shot 3x damage. As long as you consistently hit the group (splash included) the dome healing might not be able to keep up with the amount of damage given.

Only melee turrets receive a 3x damage boost. The others receive a 2x damage boost.

If I use DD does it become a x4/6 damage boost?

For melee turrets, it goes from 3x to 4x. So I assume it's from 2x to 3x for any other turret.

From the Let's Discuss Overdrives thread:

Firebird , Freeze and Isida all receive a 3x damage boost when using Viking's Overdrive.

I've tested Hammer, and from what I'm seeing, it dealt 1,003 damage for a regular shot, 2,007 damage for an Overdrive shot and 3,011 damage for an Overdrive shot with double damage enabled.

So Hammer gets a 2x damage boost when using the Overdrive and that damage increases by an additional 50% when using double damage. '

Twins seems to get a 2.2x damage boost. With double damage, it increases by an additional ~50%.

Ricochet seems to get a 2x damage boost. With double damage, it increases by an additional ~60%. I want to believe it is 50% and that 60% was just the result of getting damage on the edge of the higher end of the damage range.

I'm not sure what the melee turrets get but Striker is right, the others seem to get an additional 50% damage with double damage which corresponds to a 3x damage boost.

Because with perfect management, titan could get 4 overdrives (or 1 minute and 20 seconds of effect) in a matchmaking battle, whereas Isida can heal for all seven minutes.

I guess it's just more handy than isida. At least in pro battles if over drives are turned off, isida can be valuable there.

What about a titan isida with support nanobots then? ;)

Used to be one of those. Hunter gives me more maneuverability now, so I don't really use Titan with it unless I'm on the blue team in ASL.

I find it to be a bit oversaturated with healing since you basically wasted a lot of the Overdrive time by directly healing them quickly with your Isida faster than the dome. I only use it if a Viking popped their Overdrive nearby or if multiple splash damage turrets are shooting my clumped up allies when my ammo runs out.

Sometimes I just leave the dome somewhere my team can use it and continue roaming. A lot of people make the mistake of not moving from the dome, which lets the enemy take up positions to attack right after it ends. You can always return to it after killing an enemy and still heal yourself.

I'd say the more common mistake is placing a dome where it's not far forward enough where you can do consistent damage to spawning enemies. There are faster hulls for "roaming."

Game programmers have ****ed up titan, so that in many cases when i stand to aim with shaft, it starts moving up and down by itself, without even  been shot or shooting, like a leaf on the water! What do you think a tank like titan can be? Chevrolet of '60's that its shock absorber were too soft than even a fly could move it? be more realistic please!

Just tested it and an m2 4/10 railgun with LCR that is Viking OD activated just barely kills an m1 1/10 titan that's only protected by its dome.

Shaft M4 will do the same to Titan M3.x. I think it probably the same across all ranks for roughly equivalent modifications.

One thing to note is always how lucky you get with the damage distribution. Constant lucky shots will result in the kill faster. Adding a bunch of weak shots to that gimps the overall damage.

It's pretty much safe to say that no turret can kill a titan of the same modification in its dome using Vikings OD alone or without added damage boosts.

But if someone is constantly getting lucky shots then something's not right and you should be thinking of whether to report them or not. If it's the alteration then maybe it needs to be fixed to be more random.
