Finally Dictator OD have some nice compensation. I would still love to share the OD with a cooperative team members without any compensation but it really felt a burden when you've pushers and shovers who don't even play the objective, I always had a second thought 'why should I help these people to score more than me when they don't even care if I'm here or not'. 

 

I maybe biased but 25 points seems like a fair compensation. It can be reduced to 15 points when a teammate already have OD, in this  scenario you're benefiting the teammate equally as yourself. But if teammates don't have OD then you're benefiting them much more than yourself, so 25 points seems like a fair trade.

Dictators are almost always the top scores today.  If you have a decent kill/score rate, Dic will give you a big advantage for the top score slots since you might get three or even four ODs per battle...pick up a nuke box and you are golden.  Say three ODs an a lucky nuke box pick up and you give each OD to two teammates...200 extra score on top of the normal decent score...you gotta come out on top.  I don't think anyone at Tanki thinks these things out.  Killing Titan's OD just to patch up worthless Siege mode is another example.  My guess is that they will lower the OD bonus from 25 to maybe 10 (which will not motivate many Dics to share their OD). 

 

Here's the PERFECT solution: Get rid of the damn ODs altogether.

                                                                                          And alterations

                                                                                                       And while I'm wishing away toxic mechanics...get rid of the biggest toxic offense; MatchMaking

Why not get rid of everything except formatted battles. Other Pro-Battles are much more broken and worse than MM battles anyway.

Tanki used to be a great game and several hundred thousand people thought the same thing since they played it all the time.  Before the money-grab started there were 130,000 players on at peak times!  Then Hazel_Rah came to the forefront of the picture and most likely increased Tanki's revenues dramatically but at the expense of good game-play.  They win, we lose.  With the penchant for optimum tortured spin Tanki spun the story of MatchMaking and a couple of years later the player sheep bleat the same party line. 

 

MatchMaking is what broke Tanki's back...you can see it in the decline of players that coincides with the advent of MM.  The blatant money-grab mechanics like drones, alts, and even ODs (right now there are a lot of Titan players MUing their Dictator) brought the game down even further...oh yeah, and let's not forget the forced tripling of in-game MM time to complete missions (That is one of the reasons Pro is so lame...who wants to play after spending so much time grinding missions)

 

So while we are wishing that specific parts of Tanki would go away, probably Tanki's biggest problem (for the players at least) is Hazel Rah.  I really wish Tanki would get off the "bleed 'em dry" bandwagon and fire or demote Hazel...they gotta need someone to empty the trash and clean the toilet. ?

It is very easy to say 'fire' someone from their job when you're probably sipping cola on your comfy chair, playing the game. These people are not kids living off their parents neither they're hobbyist who do it for some time pass. These developers are real life humans whose families depends on them, and they must have real life issues. Saying 'do this and that' is a very easy thing.

 

You may not like me for saying that, but players in this game mostly 'demand' things, they don't provide/ suggest a 'feasible' solution that is beneficial for the game itself.

I understand that Hazel is an employee that is doing his job.  I did in fact mention that he has probably increased Tanki's bottom line (which is probably why he is held in high esteem), but, I believe that the course of action that was set in motion is a short term cash influx but the eventual destruction of the golden goose.  That is pretty much bad business.

 

It is a shame that Tanki has been so corrupted...there were more player friendly ways to increase revenue.  Tanki will continue on it's downward spiral as long as Hazel is at the helm.  Tanki will continue the buff/nerf cycle on all equipment regardless of how it was portrayed when sold to the purchaser...this lacks integrity at best and is downright dishonest at worst (legal, but unethical).  This forum has thousands of posts condemning MM and all the ancillary updates to accommodate MM but it is just gas in the wind...Tanki will do as Tanki will do.  I think that if Hazel were removed from the driver seat (I also mentioned he could be demoted and that doesn't even mean a pay cut necessarily) Tanki might well start to revive itself.  For one thing Hazel has completely ignored organic growth...that is, in most businesses, ludicrous.

 

My take is that the money people feel Tanki is a throw away and they have let the current administration run with whatever.  That specific "whatever" has paid off monetarily at the expense of a huge player base.  The money people are happy because of immediate gains as opposed to what I see as potential long term gains...and of course a very selfish desire to have a fun game to play as opposed to consistent irritation at constant upheaval through toxic update after toxic update (churn).

 

So yeah, I'd love to see Hazel get a pink slip...or at least taken out of control.  My bet is he could easily parlay three years of revenue growth at Tanki into another, maybe even more lucrative, gig.   He has consistently messed up my favorite game for years...so dump him and try someone else.  Tanki doesn't much care about their player base, why should we care about their employee's jobs?  ...especially when those jobs directly impact us, the end users of Tanki.

Just finished a MM Assault game playing for blue where my teammate finished with 875 points / 2438 crystals / 0 kills!

 

I'd buy Dictator but Tanki will likely lower the OD scoring right after...

This is what I love about dictator. Now that they offer a score boost to helping your team, it has become the ultimate teamwork hull. Its stats arent great on their own, being essentially a slow hunter/viking, but man it feels great to have few kills but a high score. Ive been loving it a ton and will continue to play it. I hope they dont nerf it...right now it has a role in battles

Doesn't it feel bad that they needed to give such an incentive just to encourage teamwork in the game? Like it couldn't have been brought on on its own. Additionally, it's a broken incentive and I don't know why they're keeping it this way for so long. And who even thought that 25 was a good benchmark to start with? 

 

Smoky will be getting changes maybe at the end of the month, so I presume they're gonna change Dictator with the Smoky balance change.

You think its too much? Maybe a bit...idk maybe 20 is a good number. Other ODs are individualistic...viking, hunter, mamoth

I think it should be decreased to 10 or 15. You're seeing the effects of it being at 25. You're seeing multiple Dictators on a team farming score, which they wouldn't have otherwise. It's a repeat of what happened with Isida back in January last year.

And Dictator is the one that benefits the team the most. Yet teamwork was somehow low and I saw many Dictators using the Overdrive on themselves. Most probably because their teammates got more score because of the Dictator. So they gave it incentive and look what's happening, score is being farmed everywhere lol. Now that they know before it was too little, and now it is too much, they'd find a middle number.

I've got to say...I'm convinced. I hadnt seen before but thanks for the pics. Yes, 15 would probably be good. I think they still want to incentivise dictators using OD to help teammates, but those are super high scores

5 to 10, not more. It is not a key action of the battle therefore it should not bring a player more point than a cap flag or a goal, otherwise there is no interest to do the battle requirement.

I just got a top 3 placing on the (blue) winning team in ASL with an M0 Dictator and I was hardly trying

I don't have an M2+ Dictator because I'm a Hunter fan, but if I did I would still try to share the OD without the incentive. It's what I used to do before the new ODs came along.

There is no doubt that this update is plain wrong. I have still have no idea why they did 25 points.?‍♂️ what is the end game? Withe the update on score point with Drones and now this one, is there a plan to revamp the whole score system?

This bring more crystals than XP to people doing not much in battle.

Balance is always hard. Dictator has for a long time been mostly useless, so I'd rather have it a bit too good scorewise, than useless. Hopefully a better balance will be attained shortly.

Being a Titan and having a team of 3-4 Dictators and 3-4 Titans sucks. I know from firsthand experience with Dictator that some players are trigger-happy when I give them my Overdrive and it gives them their Overdrives for usage on the spot. So when I saw that my team had 3 other Titans along with 3 Dictators, I knew it was going to be bad. 

 

I counted a total of 6 domes wasted because they're too trigger-happy when Dictators give them Overdrive charge. For almost 2 minutes in the battle, I didn't put down a dome because I knew one of my allied Titans would just disable it by putting down theirs 1 second later. We ended up winning, but the fact that Titan is able to disable allies' domes is so much unnecessary stress. This was the battle.
