Same with Hornet Prime and LGC.

I can see the metal on Prime clearly. LGC does look like an M0 skin. 

 

This was the first Hornet LGC* I saw back in that challenge.

Unless you saw the front of the hull, it looks like a full M0 Hornet with the right paint.

A wild gathering of Hunter Ricochets. How effective is this combo in general?

It is a good combo, hunter gives you better stability which helps you keep aim when under fire but I think it's more to do with this combo being available in a kit (juggler kit). I see no reason why titan wouldn't be just as effective. From my experience hunter + rico isn't as common in M3 ranks so probably kit related?

Is hunter still any good? Haven't played in a big while

IMO it has become even better. It’s more stable now whilst viking has lost most of its stability (also has better acceleration than viking ). Each hull now has its own overdrive which get charged overtime (you can see them in the wiki). Hunter has an EMP that stuns all enemies for 3 seconds within 25m, removes their supplies and makes them drop a flag if they are holding one. So yes, I think it’s still worth using. Sorry if this a bit unclear, I’m not sure how long you haven’t played for.

It's ok.  Biggest issue is splash.

 

Hunter OD - you want to be close to enenmies.  Gauss - you don't.  So you won't be using OD as often as with other hulls.

 

I prefer Dictator with Gauss.  Free DD lets you get more damage/kills.

As @wolverine848 mentioned the biggest issue is with Splash damage. Gauss is a great turret and Hunter is also a great hull but they don't sync well with each other.

Both Dictator and Viking sync well with Gauss. On the other hand, Hornet's OD is truly wonderful with Gauss but the problem is very low hp.

Who came up with this ridiculous idea? This hull is too OP now.

 

Not only it freezes the tank, but also it removes all supplies, it activates the cooldown and it removes the effect of OD. And then, the enemy is just a sitting duck with no supplies, no ability to move and it can be one shot easily.

 

In that matter, Hornet OD is dumb too, it's a double OD as it shows the location of enemies and it ignores their supplies.

Only against 3 of the 6 other Overdrives. 

 

And then, the enemy is just a sitting duck with no supplies, no ability to move and it can be one shot easily.

It was nerfed recently and the duration of the stun is (somehow) noticeably reduced (only by 0.3 seconds, which is why i said "somehow"). The amplification time of the shock was also slightly increased, which  makes trying to defuse Wasp's bomb even more dangerous for the Hunter and teammates it may have around. 

 

The range of the shock was also reduced. These days, I've been seeing more and more Hunters unable to get in close enough zap Titan's Dome Generator. They zap the enemies in front of them but they don't get the dome, which, while it doesn't waste the Hunter's Overdrive, it still gives the enemies a lot of survivability, especially if the dome was newly placed, adn would be an unfortunate inconvenience to your team. 

 

They can't be one-shotted if the Hunter doesn't have double damage activated. Nor if the enemies have protection modules against the Hunter's turret.

The idea that one of the hulls' Overdrive is a counter for the others is interesting. 

 

As a standalone Overdrive, yeah, it's powerful. 

 

In that matter, Hornet OD is dumb too, it's a double OD as it shows the location of enemies and it ignores their supplies.

About this. See, while Hornet's Overdrive is really powerful in general, it also has an unintentional downside (in the Flash version of the game). And that downside comes from its ability to show the location of all enemies.

 

It places an icon over the enemies' tanks, and in medium to large maps, completely covers the enemy tanks with the icon. So you can't see what turret or hull they have (reliably for the latter). You can't see if it's a Railgun charging up at you. You can't even see if it's a Hornet that has its Overdrive active. And it's worse when they're behind cover, because depending on how far away they are, the icon can extend just a little past the cover, making you think you can shoot them but you miss. 

 

This effect spreads to teammates as well, so the Hornet is unintentionally putting itself and its allies in danger when it activates its Overdrive.

 

Ironic.

My M4 Viking with Magnum or Hammer module is useless when a Hornet comes near me and activate his OD.

 

So, a Hunter with Magnum and DD can one shoot me too, even with module.

That...is not how this works. 

 

Hornet's Overdrive ignores double armour as well as protection modules. Hornet's Overdrive also ignores Titan's Dome and Mammoth's Overdrive. 

 

Hunter's Overdrive deactivates your double armour but does nothing to your protection module. You will survive if you're a medium hull.

All of this is assuming if you're on full HP. M4 Magnum by itself is not able to, from full HP, one-shot M4 medium hulls if they have 36% or more protection against it. 

 

The same with M4 Hammer. It cannot one-shot your M4 medium hull if you have good protection against it. M4 Duplet isn't able to kill a medium hull with 30% protection against it.

Well, Titan has a chance to kill the Hunter before it gets close.  And depending on Turret Hunter has, and availability of DD, it may not even be able to kill a Titan it has zapped.  Then if Titan has OD handy...

 

Hornet with OD has a good chance of killing Hunter before it's in range even with out DD.  Viking does not need DD if it uses OD.  Many counters to Hunter.

 

Doesn't Dictator have 4 "abilities"?

- Immediate supplies, includng RK

- Share supplies

- Freeze aura

- Boost team-mates OD

I had no idea they added a freeze aura to the Dictator OD. Since I don't use it and I rarely see any Dictator these days.

 

The original OD that was shared by all tanks was very good. There was no need to make an OD for each hull imo.
