Each of the examples you mentioned do it indirectly through the destruction of enemies. Hunter doesn't need to destroy so that you lose your flag/ball. It's as simple as letting them be and moving straight on. That's a problem in my eyes.

So what if the hunter doesn’t need to kill? Wasp, hornet, viking, and mammoth can do all that in the same time, and get a kill(or more).  Hornet and Viking can even do it from afar.

Again, the Overdrives you mentioned require you to kill to get the flag, which takes some more time to kill them and pick up the flag. Hunter allows you to skip all the hassle, take the ball, and quickly capture it. Given that opponents will have no supplies on, nothing other than an Overdrive of their own will be able to stop you. Given that the EMP reloads pretty quick, this makes for an ideal combo for doing objectives quickly and without really breaking a sweat.

And what if the player that you just stunned is right on top of the ball or flag? Still have to do something about that.

Then there's the threat of them having an OD ready.

Guess you've never had a viking survive those 2.9 seconds and then turn on OD and kill you I guess...  Same with Titan.  or Mammoth...

Hunter has to get close enough to target to zap it - and can be killed during this time.

Viking and Hornet with OD can kill target from a distance and flag gets dropped.  Makes no difference that they "need to kill" to do it.  It also happens with the push of a button.

Saying that "hunters ability to make enemy's drop flags or balls if OP because it doesn't need to kill to return the flag" is just stupid really.

It's like saying "person A is useless because they have a car and have to drive to a place that's 15 miles away in just 15 minutes. While person B doesn't have a car, and can just walk there in the same amount of time."

These kind of comments just make me lose faith in the intelligence of the upcoming generations of humanity.

Who the Hell wouldn't want to kill their stunned enemy? It gives you points, one less enemy for your team to worry about for the time being, etc.

It's so bad when you stun like 5 enemies but then your temmates kill them, shouldn't we get at least an assist for when an enemy is killed while being stunned? Or that it does something like 50 damage just so we can actually get more points out of it?

Hunter's OD is a cool alternative to just simply massacring enemies. It's a quick and efficient way to strike into the enemy team, and you can do a considerable amount of damage. Hunter, imo, is meant to to be used as a supporting element of a team. While it is powerful on its own, frying any tanker that gets too close, it is even more deadly when it is combined with teamwork. While yes, it is a bummer that you can't profit off of your emp, I think that the fact that you can be a valuable asset to the team is enough compensation. Hunter's ability to force enemies to drop the flag or ball is great because it is a true interceptor. Killing is great, but sometimes it's better to disable the enemy and immobilizing them. Killing takes time, and hunter's OD is a great tool to help out.

But, that's just my opinion.

I do try and kill stunned enemies, but there are situations where falling back is more important. I sometimes do this to arbitrarily disrupt the opposing team, in hopes that I can buy my team some time and be a distraction.

Can't argue with that.

Pls tanki ? NERF NERFFFFFF THIS ANNOYING HULL on the events it's dominating all the goldboxes

Take a chill pill.

Anyway, this is a bad idea. Hunter is balanced already, and we don't need another Mammoth Overdrive, which was absolutely gutted due to Gold Box whiners like this guy

Hunter OD got silently nerfed it seems.  Just like the new EMP gauss alt, there is only a 5 second supply cooldown.  Imo it was too harsh, at least 15 seconds would be better.

Thoughts?

It may be an unintended bug from implementing Gauss' alteration. We'll have to see whether a balance change comes around soon and if it would be stated in it as a bug or intended. Or if not that, then an announcement from the devs.

No way!!  ?

It better be a "bug".  Else they've catered to all the gold cryers.  Like when they neutered Mammoth.

Good. At least the devs have done something to make this thing less OP.

That`s a good thing. But this nerf would be quite useless in no supplies battles. Imo they should've nerfed the stun range or the stun time as well.

Hunter OD is pretty much ALREADY useless in no supply battles.  Why are you worried a general nerf won't affect that?

Short range, delay in activation that allows it to be killed before it gets used, and re-sets cooldown of target to only 5 seconds. (imageine if their cooldown was 25 seconds when activated).

Why the hate for Hunter?  What will satisfy you?

Maybe... let's just get rid of it's OD altogether?
