Unless a random enemy Large Calibre Rounds or Round Destabilisation Railgun one-shots you before you could touch the enemies after they were stunned. Happened to me too many times to not factor that out.

I come here to report that m2.9 hunter performs better than m3.7 Viking because of that massive weight advantage.

 

Hell I've been stunning people left and right because it recharges so fast and it has quite a reach. The people who say that hunters OD is "weak" just aren't using it right. In battles, my KD averages to about 1.5 to 2.0 every time I use my hunter.

 

Vikings OD takes so long to recharge and it only lasts 7 seconds, barely enough time to find enemies and kill them, let alone make a sufficient impact of the battle. In battles, my KD averages to a miserable 1.0 to 1.3 every time I use Viking.

The few times I've used Viking's OD in a TDM or CTF with defenders, I've been able to land consistent quadra and penta kills. Viking's OD is also an instant "I win button" in a 1v1 brawl if you're using any single shot turret that isn't railgun.

The few times I've used Viking's OD in a TDM or CTF with defenders, I've been able to land consistent quadra and penta kills. Viking's OD is also an instant "I win button" in a 1v1 brawl if you're using any single shot turret that isn't railgun.

How would rail not win the brawl if it literally oneshots them? Plus it reloads so fast.

Roughly 5 or 6 kills + a 20sec wait. That's not bad considering the alternatives that TO could have added (no bonuses for getting kills and assists, and no drones that amp OD timers, as well as Dictator's OD not counting as a nuclear power supply for others around it)

1 sec charge time still exists, dingus. That 1sec charge means you're only going to fire 3 shots in that course of time. In a 1v1 Viking OD brawl, literally ANY other turret would win. And Railgun can only reliably oneshot light hulls, since almost everyone has DA up nowadays, making the DD effect from Viking's OD virtually irrelevant.

Well, if it's any consolation you can hold LMB to infinitely fire weapons that have to aim otherwise (Shaft and Gauss) so you have that as an advantage. 

 

Also, Viking is a stable enough hull that it doesn't have as rough a time being knocked around as say, Hornet or Wasp.

Also, Viking is a stable enough hull that it doesn't have as rough a time being knocked around as say, Hornet or Wasp.

Viking is almost twice as wide as hornet or wasp, meaning that the enemy has twice as much leverage to be able to hit the Viking in the corner from the front or the back.

 

So I'd say that Viking has as much of a rough time dealing with impact turrets as hornet and wasp.

Lmao. Railgun is the most dangerous out of all the viking overdrives. It can shoot 12 times or more in those 7 seconds.

 

It can kill a juggernaut with 25% protection before you can even turn to shoot back.

 

How about you actually see how it performs before talking?

 

Besides, I'm reliably oneshotting medium hulls without even using viking, because railgun is a monster.

Yes, give me back old viking. :P

Old Viking had the acceleration and pushing power advantage.

 

I just want the weight back, because that's what made it usable, I don't care about the speed so that can be reduced.

I found that speed is somewhat essential for Hunter's OD. I want to charge the Titan's dome and shut it off when I have the OD, but it's slow speed makes it cumbersome. I miss quite a few mass-kill opportunities because Hunter is so slow.

What I do is I just use the OD if I'm being threatened. I don't care if it's only one enemy or a billion enemies, if I feel that they're big enough threat, I'll use it, and it works around 95% of the time.

I have decided that I'll only use this broken / OP hull if the missions that I have to do requires it. Otherwise I'll just use Viking.

With all these no-recoil / impact force Vikings around, it basically undermines Hunter's advantages over it. 

 

It's the only medium hull I have on 2 of my accounts so I use it. I don't see the reason to purchase another one. I'm a player that has an unstable Viking so I'm not using Viking.

I find viking ok with short range turrets (Been going ok with both isida and firebird, and due to its OD increasing their range massively, you can actually get a fair share of damage/kills done) but I don't see the appeal in combos like thunder viking when you could use dictator or hunter instead. The chance to stun attackers defensively or gain largely heightened active supply times feel much better than a once only "kill 1 or 2 people unless you're a lucky railgun".

I always look for at least 1 guy to share dictator with, unless I'm in a pinch and need it for myself (Or when I'm on a rampage with dictator rail and the MM put me in a match where I dominate).  As for hunter... I don't really use it, but when I did it's been useful to retrieve flags or similar.

I certainly ain't gonna use dictator, it's just too weird, it's large, it's slow, and it just bounces all over the place. :mellow:

 

 

On the other hand, Hunter is like an upgraded version of both Viking and dictator stat wise. It's stability to size ratio is practically like titan, meaning that trying to knock a hunter off aim is like trying to do the same thing to a titan.

 

I just want to play fair when my missions will allow while also still doing well in battles.

Well you're still technically helping yourself when using hunters OD, because you just put your enemies supplies on cool down. And when using dictators OD, you get a second set of all supplies in that situation.
