I used to love the Hornet hull until Tanki changed the OD and now it is one of the weakest hulls. The Hornet OD offers zero offensive or defensive bonus only the radar. I'm very disappointed and feel like playing with a handicap. I would not buy it. 

It's the best overdrive, if paired with a hull that has good stats like viking it would be the most popular

it single handedly revived rail and thunder in MM thl battles, i only have it at m3 and i still find it more useful than my m4 viking even if it was m0 id still use it over viking.

Hornets overdrive is amazing. Ive been using it with hammer and omgosh its so fun. When i ise overdrive I can one shot heavy hulls with double armor and protection.

 

I wish more ppl would get off of heavy hulls and join the fun that is hornet. Its great

Hornet requires way too high protections to survive anything, and protections are expensive.

If I were to be having fun with Adaptive Reload, I'd want them to see how fun it is as well but I'd also want them to stay with Duplet because they'd just advertise the heck out of the alteration and then it would become "the new thing in stock" after Duplet goes into the ground. If they jump on Hornet, the'll get frustrated at being one-shotted by everything if they don't have suitable protection.  :lol:

 

And how are you one-shotting heavy hulls? Are you using the Booster Drone or were the heavy hulls at half HP?

No drone. DD plus overdrive. Doesn't always 1-shot, but most times it does. Sometimes I'm noob and I miss, but point blank itl take care of business

Which alt?   Even with LCR you'd be doing much higher than average damage to kill a heavy, and thus would count as lucky shots.

 

Or many of the times you are just hitting wounded tanks.

Duplett. Fires 2 shots, each 1900-2100 damage with DD. Figure it takes 2 shots to kill a naked hornet, so 4 to kill a naked heavy. With DD that makes 1 shot on light and 2 for heavy, with duplett doing those 2 shots instantly. So sorry, when I say 1 shot I mean 1 duplett round...technically 2 shots

Oh, you should have said that. You made me think that you were killing heavy hulls with one single shot. 

 

It's better to use Adaptive Reload than Duplet when using Hornet's Overdrive.

I'd agree with you... the hornet m2 and freeze combo got rekt while full buff with two hits. I do hate this hull it's turn out one of the weakest hull I'd even brought

The ability to completely ignore ALL protections is "weak"? That's a first. I think it needs a nerf. Being one shotted by rails, gausses, shafts, magnums, uraniums, duplet etc isn't fun, especially when you have at least two types of protections.

 

In fact every time a hornet and railgun user activates its OD and kills me, I ask myself "Why the Hell did I waste my time and crystals on rail protection when hornet can just freely cancel it with a push of a button?"

I've wasted 82k crystal on this junk... I've should have brought the wasp or the hunter only the things that is useful is the Overdrive

Well you are using it wrong.

Freeze Hornet is ok if you are trying to steal flags.

But to get most out of OD you need to use long-range turret so...

1) You can use it instantly anywhere on the map if targets in sight

2) You keep danger at arms-length

3) High-damage turrets allow hornet to one-shot medium hulls.

I have an m2 hornet on another account. I don't use it much, only because how it handles doesn't suit me. I'm more into more HP and stability. Just not as crazy as the heavy hulls though.

 

Now imagine what this overdrive can do when it's given to a hull with more stability and HP like hunter or dictator.
