Ok, we all do it.  Whenever our friend needs help we give him points by giving him flag.  But is this fair?  I give my friends flag, and I like it when they give to me, but when you are on the receiving end of things, it can be hard.

 

Your thoughts?

I understand that, I didn't quite get my point across properly, sorry.  Ok, an example is needed:

 

Earlier today, I was in a long game and ended up second with 7k fund and players who were friends with the guy in first came and drugged, took flags and stopped me capping many, and handed all the flags to their friend, who went further and further ahead of me, thus he got about 1k more than me, which was unfair.

 

As an aside, they also tried to vote, me and I was one vote away from being kicked the whole game.  Another point which makes me wonder how someone in second place of an 8 people team can be voted by lower members.

I don't give flags because I think they need points, I give flags for the benefit of the team. When I have less health than another person I drop the flag - I don't care who picks it up.

 

I think it's fine to pass flags around. Of course in your situation it isn't cool, but... there will always be situations like that regardless of what rules are in place.

Depends on how hard it was to get it, if I just got through a swarm of defenders all with a variety of guns in Dusseldorf, I won't give the flag to anyone regardless.

However, if I took a flag in a Sandbox with no-one there and someone needs the points, I don't see why I wouldn't.

 

Those are examples of situations; it's a lot bigger than that. I think you can get the gist of what I'm saying here though.

@Fool:  Yes, of course I would give a flag if I had lower health.

 

@Remaine:  Yes, in your situation that is fine, but I think that giving it to help a teammate who is doing well to get ahead is unfair.

I never hand over flags to give others xp. Usually, I give it up when someone originally lost the flag and died, but respawns. Then I believe I should give them the flag because they took the risk and got it away. Occasionally I also drop the flag to let a Mammy take it, especially when I'm low on health. Just my opinion on everything.

I always give the flag away if I'm about to die or if someone faster or with more health is near. Sometimes though I might give the flag to a friend for points if for example I took the flag from them dying or if I'm doing a takeover and I passed them by a lot.

In the situation you described it is not fair...I give over the flag for the same reason most do for the benefit of the team. I have also given the flag to a player that has just gone through some serious effort and died right before the score, if I can grab it and give it back to the player I will. They deserve it

And of course there are those situations where someone was carrying the flag and got killed. I pick it up and carry to to base, and I always find the person who took it in the first place and give him the cap. Always; regardless of how far he managed to carry it.

Yes, ^ that is an example when you defo should hand back the flag.

 

Just want to reiterate my opinion:

 

You should not had the flag over to a teammate who is say in first place, IMO, especially if it means the person in second place gets less crystals than the guy in first, because the guy in second may have worked equally hard towards winning, with less reward.

Well like I said, in your situation it was really lame. But I think it would be even more silly to make it against the rules for one person to pass the flag to his friend, regardless of the amount of his points.

Sometimes I have seen the flag given to vital members of the attack, for example, an isida that died healing the main attacker while he was frozen. It can be seen as a show of thanks.

Many Noobs In Battles Push Me When Im Drugging To Get The Flag But I'm A Mammoth And I Push Them Back, ANd They Are 0.18 d/l So They Get Isida And Heal ME And When I Give them The Flag They Just Jump Down And Self Destruct !
