Completely change the Violators section!

 Share

Recommended Posts

Hi.

So, this is a request for a better Violators Section, I've been thinking of this for a while.

OK, since many players get banned for posting in that Section, what is the point of it being visible to players?

Here is how should it go,

1st, make that section just like the one of 'Helpers of the object', means that players can't view other players' topics when posting a violation of a player, same as posting an application for a job.

2nd, make an option to record available in the Settings, it could be turned off or on any time the player wants, moderators, and the player can view his theater where the videos he was recording are located, same in Call of Duty, it will help a lot since some players get lags when recording by a special program or they may not have one.

3rd, the topic should contain Name of offender - Violation as a title (as normal), the body should contain a screenshot where the players list, name of the battle, and map, and also battlefund and number of flags, so it could be more easier for moderators to find the battle of the video when viewing the player's theater.

Example,

Player A joins the battle in the team of player B and violates, player B then turns on the option for recording in the settings, he plays the battle and the battle finishes, he takes a full screenshot of the result and keeps it, he turns off the option of recording and go to forums for the purpose of reporting the violator, he goes to violators section and creates a new topic containing the info above, moderators view that topic, they go to the player's theater and watches the video of the battle using the battle name in the screenshot that the player posted in his topic, moderators then find all the violations and reply to the player's topic with the decision made.

False report? Ban the OP of the topic.

Too long time watching? Ask the player for the duration where the player violated.

Please give feedback players and staff.

And moderators, instead of arguing and closing my topic, relax and give feedback, this is a REQUEST not an IDEA.

Thank you and have a nice day :)

Hi.

This is actually a nice idea, but remember that sometimes more than one player is involved in those complaints, in fact the Rules of the Violators section allow the following people to write there:

"The people involved in the complaints, as well as the witnesses

The people who have the same complaint"

2nd, make an option to record available in the Settings, it could be turned off or on any time the player wants, moderators, and the player can view his theater where the videos he was recording are located, same in Call of Duty, it will help a lot since some players get lags when recording by a special program or they may not have one.

This, I think, is sort of impossible. There are millions of players playing every day and so, with this option, all of them could start recording some of their battles. RECORDING a video means saving it somewhere, and SAVING it somewhere means taking away a great amount of memory from Tanki Online's servers.

What I mean is that if all players can start to record their videos, then Tanki Online would have to buy more servers just to store those videos.

An option could be this one: save the video in a certain folder of the players' computer, but this won't be a smart move since, once saved on a player's computer, a video can be easily edited and made different as it was before.

3rd, the topic should contain Name of offender - Violation as a title (as normal), the body should contain a screenshot where the players list, name of the battle, and map, and also battlefund and number of flags, so it could be more easier for moderators to find the battle of the video when viewing the player's theater.

^ The videos can be automatically deleted after a week or so.

The record feature will only be available after the rank of Warrant Officer 1.

That's true, but it will take much space anyways, and many times that feature would be abused to make videos of random things and not violations.

But, afterall, as I said before, it's not a bad idea, it needs to be reworked a bit ;)

P.S. Hi Hichi :D

Hmm...

How about making it so that only a MOD and the recorder will be able to view the video. This makes it useless to randomly record.

Welcome back, Barba!

Welcome back, Barba!

This is the solutions to it ;) Only who recorded the video and the Staff members that work over the violations can see those videos, so no abuse of this feature.

The problem that came to my mind right now is that, when banning someone, proofs of the ban must be kept for a certain amount of time in the case that the banned player want to complain, so the videos can't be deleted soon, and we return back to the "space over servers" issue..

P.S. Thanks, and nice to see you again :P

Tehnically they can't make anything .. I was banned because i post there but my wrong i didn't read the section rules .. If they make that section invisible , or make the posting unvailable , how can we make the reports ? So all we have to do is to read and respect the rules ..

Greetings, Barbafenner89, it's me, Stadium.

Thank you for your feedback. But I believe there are solutions for the problems you mentioned.

As for the first feedback, when a player is involved and got an unfair ban, he can PM one of the moderators, they can then solve his issue, they may also add the one who reported if they wish.

As for the second, it's not a problem since Tanki has added 14 servers, there are 45 servers instead of 31 now, and the player could turn off or on any time he wants.

However, great idea, it would be useful since the player can crop the part of the violation.

And again, thank you and welcome back to forums.

As for the first feedback, when a player is involved and got an unfair ban, he can PM one of the moderators, they can then solve his issue, they may also add the one who reported if they wish.

The problem here is that sometimes more than one player has the same complain as others, so making those topics visible only to the Staff and to those players that made a topic will be a problem since there will be floodings of same topics or involved players won't be able to take part in a specific topic important to them since it will be invisible to them.

As for the second, it's not a problem since Tanki has added 14 servers, there are 45 servers instead of 31 now, and the player could turn off or on any time he wants.

However, great idea, it would be useful since the player can crop the part of the violation.

The fact of cropping a violation video is a negative part, as I said before. If you read over there, you will see that I mention it as a bad act, since editing a violation video might made it different then it was and Staff will never accept an edited proof. I can tell you so because I was a Mod before and we never accepted cut screenshots or obviously edited videos.

For the servers: the actual amount of servers is usefull to reduce lags and players load over other servers so that less players are playing on the same server, they are spread out in more servers and lags are reduced.

Using other servers to store videos, even just for a month, will be too much since videos are often heavies on memories and that will bring Tanki Online to buy more servers, so more money going down the drain just for those violators.

And again, thank you and welcome back to forums.

As before, green feedbacks :)

Anyways, the idea of the invisible section can be perfectioned by the Devs, I'm sure that they will know how to do it if it will be accepted. For the recording idea, I think that those players that are willing to report someone should organize themselves, since I'm sure that if a recording software makes you lag, an in-game recording feature will make you lag the same way.. But, afterall, it might be organized in a way that it might work, we'll see :)

P.S. Thanks, and nice to meet you :)

Bump, some game designer may see this.

This is not up to game designers

Suggestions about changes in such forum rules go to @Yele or Semyon

As for the other parts about being able to record videos etc. - you're always welcome to share them on Feedback :)
