I don't get the hype. There are a lot of setups that are much more fun.

Some don’t even do it for fun these days. They do it cuz they think it’s what “Pro’s” do and try to act like it’s a big thing.

I agree that XP/BP format is hyped.

However, it is quite fun and challenging.

Railgun's long reload, the short delay before shooting, and playing with light hulls which can almost always get destroyed with 2 shots, is ideal for dynamic and exciting gameplay.

There are a few players that play the format without really understanding it, and because it "requires supreme skills". They think that they are absolutely royal if they are excellent in XP/BP. Well, I don't think so.

I love to play XP/BP mainly for the thrill, and to improve strategic thinking. I never play the format to "join the pros".

Well i play xpbp a lot and i keep missing simple shots, some call me laggers while most of the time i miss the shots with out the problem of lag. Some people say practice, well i have been playing xpbp for about 2 years and tanki for  8-9 years so  that's not the case. Sometimes i am really good while i play like a noob and lose against players whom I believe I have potential to win against. i have seen ppl never or very rarely miss no matter how u hit them and many of them are at lieutenant ranks with no higher rank accounts.

Plz give some suggestions as to how not miss them.

Yo, I got the same problem...

It's just that our fingers refuse to move across the keyboard like that of a gamer's. You sorta over-press (or under-press) the turret-turning keys, and miss the target.

Only way to improve is practice. I know this is cliche advice.

Though I too advise you to practice, I'd like to give suggestions regarding how to practice.

You could try creating a private battle in Stadium (or any other map that has plenty of poles), and practice shooting at the poles of the display-boards in the map, while running around. First begin by going in a straight line (the ledges at the sides adjacent to the goal-post like structures would do fine) and shooting at the pole of the closest display-board, and gradually aim at farther targets.

You could get a loyal friend who doesn't care about kill-death ratio to help you out by acting as a dummy-target. Then you could try various shots like shooting through tiny gaps, shooting while turning, shooting while moving straight, shooting diagonally while moving, shooting while swinging (swinging refers to a movement in which you move forwards a bit and quickly moving back, which elevates the front of your hull a bit. Vice versa for elevating the back of your tank so you can shoot downwards), etc.

Some cliche maps for practice are Zone and Garder. Sandbox is good too, but not much for practice. Zone and Garder have some nice props that help.

Ultimately, it's all about timing, which unfortunately improves only with practice. You need to practice enough to get used to the long reload and the short delay before firing. Pro players have these parameters stored in their muscle-memory.

Hope this helps!

Topic merged.

As someone who did his best to improve and become a good XP player, I got some tips for you.

After each battle you end up losing, think about what you did wrong. Pay attention to it in your next battles and do your best to avoid such mistakes. Having good aim is very important. For me, the best way to improve my aim is playing duels (1v1s). Your goal should be hitting as much shots as possible,  do not waste your shots if you cannot hit your opponent for sure. And lastly, think about what would you do if you were your opponent, read his next moves.

I hope it helps ?
